Hello anons. I'm thinking about trying either RF3 or 4 as they are on sale on Steam, but I had a few questions. Are these versions of the games good? Which of the two is better? Do I need to play these games in order to have any idea what's going on, or do they stand alone fairly well?

Finally advanced to second gen. Now I remember why I had dropped the game in my first playthrough. It's exhausting and nothing ever happens. Summer Village was expedited FAST. It's kinda unique the way you learn new recipes in RF2 by attending classes and having to tick those boxes to learn them. However, it does get old fast and starts to resemble a *real* class and you just want it to end so you can go home.This game has some weird ideas that look cool on paper but are implemented kinda poorly. If they ever remake this game I hope they find a way to make those ideas interesting in some way. It could turn this game into something very unique.

Iroha is about her dango and normally I would be annoyed about her canon girl energy but I like her fan compared to the plum branch. Ulalaka is about helping others but ends with her thinking that she can't be with you, a mortal, unless I misunderstood. His arc end up with him, Kurama, and Ikaruga making the MC believe he intend to go to war to the surface with his oni, when in truth it's a Setsubun. Also act as a old married couple with Yachiyo.Mauro, Fubuki and Ikaruga are the girl tier, even if Fubuki redeems himself by being funny when Kai and Kurama start shit in his shrine, or his brother Kamurosaki.No wonder girls love this game. The boys in there have the storylines and cool stuff, but the girls are just moe.
