New DQ6 English patch has been released by a new team, doesn't have missing text and doesn't randomly crash the game like the old one. cleartonic.net/dq6/

that's cool, surprised they didn't just retranslate ds though

Neat. Wish I'd known about this before starting the DS version.

That would've been much more work for much less actual benefit.

the DS still has faster combat.

The DS version is good enough. Much better to translate a missing version, especially since it's the original

Been playing through this actually. First time I've gotten this far in DQ6. Just got the flying bed in Clear Vale.

The game itself is kind of a mess. You have this whole-ass mini JRPG plot in the first act, complete with an insane difficulty spike in Mudou's dungeon, which for some reason, you can return to, but you can't leave without dying. Then the difficulty goes way down and classes are introduced like 15 hours into the game? Like, what the fuck? Why introduce that shit so far into the game?

In spite of all that, it's still decently fun. Not on the level of several other late 16-bit JRPGs (CT blows this game out of the water, for example), but worth it for the hardcore DQ fans out there.
