I recently got back into Elona and decided to try out Elin as well while I was at it, but I quickly slid off both. Still wanting something of that ilk, I also downloaded the latest Cataclysm BN release, but similarly there I slid of rather quickly. In all instances it was because I just went back to the tried and tested after a while. (bow-mage in Elona/Elin and spears and guns in a log cabin in CBN)How do people keep focus with a game where the most interesting part is learning, but where you also need to keep to the tried and tested for a lot of it? I've put many hours in Elona and Cataclysm, but I haven't gotten near to the end-game of either as both require a ridiculous time-investment for something that could be lost in seconds.Also Cataclysm thread, I'd be interested to hear what people end up doing. (Elona feels a bit too guided for a lot of different things to happen)

>>4088570Funny that you saying that, for me Elona and TOMA was basically one of the few games that actually managed to break through my ADHD and manage to get my attention for long without me getting bored and starting to doomscroll. >How do people keep focus with a game where the most interesting part is learningI would say it's mostly just more basic "seeing your numbers go up" at least for Elona. If you not getting enough dopamine from clearing dungeons, killing strong enemies and getting cool loot to keep you hooked up, then maybe it's just isn't for you.
