suppose such an opportunity presented itself to you. the chance to work on divinity, contribute meaningfully to it (not just animating the capes of the npcs or something like that), but with zero salary. would you do it? would you quit your job for it? please do take this seriously, iโ€™m not just asking for no reason.
>>
Yeah
And I say that as someone who works in the industry

If I didn't need money then yes. Otherwise you'll just starve to death and have no where to live.
>>
>>4097258
Yeah, but only so I can get fired for calling them stupid cunts to their faces when characters like Shadowheart get pitched.
>>
I wouldn't work anywhere for free
>>
>>4097685
Theres a few jobs I wouldnt mind volunteering for, but you'd have to be a bigger cuck than John to do a creative pursuit for someone else's profit.

Larian does not make RPGs. They make action-adventure wokeslop dressed up as an RPG.

no, there would need to be incentives down the line
>unpaid internship with a guaranteed contract(never happens) of employment at the end after 1-2 months tops
>healthcare covered
>free housing and groceries
>travel expenses covered by Larian to Belgium(?) and everyday commute
>clear defined role not just hanging around as some office mascot
>>
>>4097258
No, I'm not gonna live on the street and eat from a garbage can just to make someone else richer.
>>
>>4097258
Looking to cut down on budget, Swen?
>>
>>4097258
Will I get to shit in their coffee, because I'm going to shit in the coffee
>>
>>4097843
>free housing
But weโ€™re talking about you getting paid in exposure
>>
>>4098158
I don't feel like exposing everyone to my window shattering morning farts
>>
>>4097258
Hell nah. Only way I'd do it would be if it was an university internship deal. If it is a full internship and I had to lose my job and income to do it then that would be stupid, not to mention that AAA devs are treated worse than animals
>>
>>4097258
i wouldn't risk financial instability for vidya
>>
>>4097258
>larian studios for free?
no. unless the Belgium gov went woke and decided to give me free residency and "unemployed" welfare cheques for working for free.
>>
>>4102271
brah .even as a shitty webdev intern, i was paid about 500 bucks a mth back in the days.
>>
>>4097258
No. Because in a civilised world, that is called slavery. And since we are civilised, everyone says slavery is bad.
>>
>>4097258
>work for free
This does not exist, and is actually called wage theft.
>>
>>4097258
Hard pill to swallow:
Yes or no doesn't matter. If you live under capitalism you are already working for free. All the money your labor generates is taken by landlords, taxes, utilities, and mostly by CEOs and private investors. Your labor is worth nothing as it is so you might as well work for free doing something you enjoy.
