Which was the less shitty game? I thought they were worth comparing since they have similar developers and concepts
>>4099231Idk I haven't played either
>>4099231Starfield is a great game. I haven't played outer worlds
>>4099231I actually thought Outer Worlds 2 was better than the first one, to my surprise. I only picked it up on a whim after being disappointed by the first one and it had some good changes
>>4099231Outerworlds is the better of the two.Starfailed takes itself too seriously and fails on tone. Designs are a mess, weapons being a prime example of things that things that have no semblance of working in reality even with future-tech magic. Story is functional at best, plot is farcical and no characters are engaging. But it does look good in static screenshots. Starfailed.
Both games looked extremely mediocre and I would not play either, were I given them for free. Certainly not pay for them.
The base building and shipbuilding in Starfield is head and shoulders above what's available in Outer Worlds 2. Starfield is a lot like Fallout 4 in space. No one's accusing the story of being any good, but the background mechanics are a crazy amount of fun with what's just an scifi RPG backdrop. When you go to Outer Worlds 2, it's pretty similar. Terrible story, boring characters, awful pacing. Maybe not as bad as Starfield, but still pretty bad. However, OW2 doesn't have the benefit of having fun background systems. The crafting in OW2 is even worse than the actual gameplay.Honestly, I don't know how anyone could compare them. Both are below average games, but Starfield has a few mechanics that are genuinely great and OW2 is just below average across the board.

>>4099273It is better in terms of story and a few improvements to combat, but I just could not keep playing it after a few hours. I was gettin bored to death by it. I genuinely had more fun playing Fallout 76.
