So these people were migrating to another world on a colony ship. To power that ship, they compressed their planet into a "quasar". Instead of calling it "The Engine Room" they call it "The Placenta"
>>4101824and then they all went into deep sleep without checking first if the ship was going anywhere.
>>4101824wew really? i had this in my backlog
>>4101841It's a sequel to a game that was only released in japan (at the time). I'm not sure about now. And it did a really poor job recapping the plot. Their star was unstable and turning into a Red Giant. So they build this Colony Ship "Soreil", I think it's transliteration of "So Real" or "Surreal". They sent out an expedition team to find a new world. They weren't meant to drift in space, they were meant to teleport, using the energy of their unbirthed star. There was also a faction that wanted to use energy to stabilize the star. To make a long story longer, it wasn't even their original planet. They had teleported there from somewhere else, by Isekai-ing a "higher dimensional" being. They Isekai'd another girl to do this again, so they could spare their energy to "give back" in a sense. But the first Isekai girl was like "OR, you use the energy to send us back home!"
>>4101944So 5000 years of stasis later. These "factions" are basically just 2 or 3 NPCs anyways. When they show a crowd of people they had to duplicate the same 4 character models. It's low budget. The English version translated the star's name to "Bezel"; but I think it was meant to be "Bizarre". Get it? Bizarre and Surreal. The original native inhabitants of the planet were fairy-like creatures called "Genome". They got compressed into the quasar along with the planet. "Geno-cide" *ba-dum-dum-tsss*It get's really confusing. Their spiritual bodies could be extracted from the quasar and put in new artificial bodies called "Sharl" "shaaru"I believe it was meant to be "Char" which is a French for "Tank" or "Chariot" or "Parade Float". But it could also have the sense of "charred" sacrificial ashes. And because the game was so bad at recapping the plot of the first game. It doesn't communicate the sense of betrayal or resentment these creatures have towards the humans. They're in limbo, because their energy wasn't used to fix the sun, or teleport the humans to a new world. Then they kind of do a Matrix thing, realizing they could use the humans for energy instead.
>>4101944Also (you), the player, get contacted through your console and given robot body to control.I want to eat Ion.
>>4101993I think I legitimately fell in love with Ion during the course of the game. It was intentional on the part of Gust, and they did a damn good job.
>>4102002mfw ciel no surge gets remade and it's just AI chat just like Ryza and Sophie
>>4102002Kakuma Ai is a great VA
>>4101944>>4101973>>4101824Garbage summary from someone who didn't play Ciel nosurge and is making up stupid etimologies for things they don't understand
We could say the localization butchered the whole "Dimensional Axis" thing. But the fact is, while they talk about "Oversight", and how Nero and Ion are supposed to have it, and perform an "Axis Shift", we don't actually see it. So there's nothing to understand. The concept itself is carried over from the canceled Chronos Materia game. Which was more of an Atelier game for the PSVita, practically Atelier Iris 4 if we're being honest. Gust was marketing it as a new IP that was (allegedly) comparable to Radiant Historia.I think the Atelier games set in "Arland" came very close to connecting to the Ar Tonelico universe. Especially after Lulua. But it was like they swerved at the last minute to avoid a collision and crashed into a ditch. Instead of Ra Ciela tech, they branded it "Galaxen".Instead of "Administrators" they went with "Operators"
>>4102691Calling you "stupid" would be an insult to idiots, schizo
