Sup, anons, I'd like to spend my next weekend playing a retro RPG ( up to the 6th generation of consoles ) to play using the emulator on my phone. I'd like a hidden gem, an obscure and little-known RPG, but one that you anons played and ended up being underrated.
>>4109054Planescape: TormentFalloutTetris, but pretend you’re someone else every game (a woman, a gypsy, a faggot, etc)
>>4109054>up to the 6th generation of consolesI'm 32 and I still can't tell which one is which. Can you at least tell us if you've already played anything? Otherwise my recommendation is Might and Magic VII and Morrowind.
>>4109095It’s an odd and imo worthless nomenclature. We always used “the nes era” “the snes era” “the PSX era” “the ps2 era” etc
>>4109054>hidden gemlemme guess it's Chrono TRIGGER rite?other than that, it's Moraff's World, but i don't think Dosbox works well on a phone. also keyboard hotkeys needed for a roguelike.
>>4109054My brothers and I had a great time playing Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves growing up
>>4109054Faggot Quest featuring OP
>>4109054Dark Heart of UukrulDarklandsDark Sun Shattered LandsCRPGs starting with Dark tend to be good. Wouldn't play them on a phone though.
>>>/vr/
>>4110935>CRPGs starting with Dark tend to be good. But gold is better:Golden Axe Warrior,Golden Land, Golden Sun.
>up to the 6th generation of consoles >using the emulator on my phoneUmm fellow uncs I think OP meant a jarpiggy.
>>4112015OP also wanted classical western fantasy, according to his picrel.Warriors of the Eternal Sun?
>>4109105nobody says psx
>>4112017>a retro RPG ( up to the 6th generation of consoles ) >using the emulator on my phone>a hidden gem, an obscure and little-known RPG>looking-for-rpgs-with-classic-fantasy-aesthetics-1970s-80sNo such thing. Quite an asinine or very naive list of requirements. No title mentioned so far in this thread is "obsure" either unless we stop taking words seriously.
>>4112029>nobody says psxPeople who had one at the time said “PSX” or just the “PlayStation”Zoomers who grew up with the, fuck I dunno, PS3 or something retroactively call it the “PS1”
>>4112029>pee a sex
>>4112056now try not to leave out anything in between. it was "ps1" (I remember people with the tiny PS One) the moment ps2 existed. no need to bring up imaginary zoomers and the third ps.
>>4112063>it was “ps1” the moment ps2 existedAnd what was it prior to anything else but the original PlayStation existing? The nickname at the time was “PSX”This is an incredibly silly thing to argue about, and no one who was there would do so. I won’t hazard a guess as to your age, but you clearly don’t know what you’re talking about.
>>4112085it's not plausible to cling to that code name "psx". adding "1" to the first installment of anything is totally normal. just to make you think, it's the equivalent of saying the great war instead of ww1.
>>4112096>no one says the great war
>>4109079You aren't funny, kill yourself.
>>4109095You just need to remember that the third generation is the only one anyone still cares about today (NES) and count up from there.
>>4112375true, nothing before is worth a damn.
>>4112375>>4112545Respect your elders, you damned brats!
>>4109054Order of the Griffon
>>4112545Space Invaders on an led using a simple coax rca convertor looks clean af. At least worth the occasional play alongside some pac man and donkey kong. Bust out the nes for burger time as a blender. Sega master had some decent old games as well. But its close enough to the same era as nes.
>>4109054I've always felt like Illusion of Gaia was under rated. Dont love the fact its not open world you can freely explore but it makes up for it with some really creepy vibes, vibrant well done art style and mystic music. Also an action rpg which we never seem to get often enough in this format.
What the fuck is PlayStation Ecks (Iks) and how is it different from PlayStation (Regular ass edition)?
>>4115197PSX is the OG /vr/ acronym used by media and reviewers.
>>4115197PSX = PlayStationIt was the abbreviation used at the time it came out, from Sonys internal code name, the “x” was for experimental“PS1” would later become more popular after the PS2 came out, for obvious reasons
>>4116999Right. It waa a very common abbreviation in print form. Spoken everyone just said Playstation. Or boomer parents called it a nintendo.
