This sort of behavior is common on this site because most posters are not arguing in good faith. They are here to say things that are obviously wrong and stir trouble when anyone points it out to them.

I remember talking to someone about a mechanic on an MMO where we were debating weapon accuracy being truncated or averaged. Despite literally logging in to record a webm of a test and posting a combat log that proved without a doubt accuracy was averaged with a sample size of around 10,000 instances, even posting other players' tests, he just kept throwing out insults. Worse, he didn't even stop being wrong in future threads, retreading the same posts like it was a crusade.

The only thing you can do is ignore and continue talking to others.
