I've always though it was weird as fuck that 13 and 16 got bashed for being "hallway cutscene" simulators when 10 is the exact same bullshit, yet it's often celebrated as one of the best FFs and one of the best JRPGs of all time in general.

Honestly there are quite a few important missables with FFX. And there is no such thing as new game+. Not saying you need to use a guide. You just need to accept it.
But it also has a great pacing, replaying the game is very fun.
If you don't like blitzball, just make a save after the last required blitzball game to replay the game.

The only ff games I have finished are X and 13-2. They are both fantastic.

As good as any thread to ask. I have given up on 12 multiple times over the years but I realized I only tried the re-releases with the class system and built in 4x speed.
Do you think I should try the ps2 original, maybe the more free form class building, and forced slower speed would click better for me.
Currently I just go in a coma at max speed until I get bored and I really don't like the job system. Its done weird in 12 zodiac age where clearly it wasn't how it was originally supposed to play with every class having half of their unlocks just being can use generic equipment piece

Just from whst I remember everytime i leveled up and put my skill points into my ability to wear another slightly nicer hat. That felt really goofy, and super speed being being built into a game only shows its very sloggy but maybe not having it puts me into a mood of adventure.
I didn't get far i don't think, the oil field bit was the furthest I got.

I keep making this post because people apparently don't get it. 13 was rightly bashed because it set up this cool world and then didn't let you interact with it at all. No NPCs to talk to, no society to visit and everything hidden inside a codex.

Whereas 10 lets you be a part of the world and engage with it in meaningful ways. The blitzball tournament, collecting the Al-Bhed primers.

Both of them are hallways but one hallway just has a pretty backdrop and the other let you be apart of it.

As someone who only played the 3d games way later in life I thought 7 9 and 12 were the best. X is a game that was many babys first jrpgs that had sweet graphics but the linear nature and rock paper siccors combat really made me feel I couldchave enjoyed it when it was young.
