You guys think the upcoming Starborn content Bethesda promised for next year will help to put Starfield back on the map?
>>4116230If you think Starfield is an RPG, you deserve life imprisonment.
>>4116230Yes it will. And I like this recent trend of continued support for games.
>>4116230>saarfieldNo I don't think it will.
Game's in pretty good shape with all the new content added and fixes made to it, plus it just surpassed Fallout 3's total mod download count on Nexus, so it does seem to have a rather healthy modding scene right now. I think with more time, it could become a much beloved game, but I doubt it will truly become a juggernaut like Skyrim and Fallout 4
Utterly boring and sanitized game. The only remotely interesting thing about it is the ship building stuff. I spent more time tinkering with my ship like an autist playing with legos than actually playing that game. Abysmal writing, genuinely aborrent companions. Zero inventivity. They should have gone full Expanse, without any space magic stuff, and with a game strictly limited to the Sol system. I don't care about those 100 star systems all inhabited by HR people and space pajeets, all giving me boring fetch quests.I tried to play it again with tons of QoL mods few months ago, still did not saw the point of it.The starborn stuff is particular is uninteresting. I would rather have more UC/terramorph quests. Also designing a game around an NG+ gimmick while also making playing that game a chore is completely idiotic
https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/17890https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/17936pointer fix and BA2 fix mods, save file sizes and installing a lot of mods are no longer a problem
>>4116745Hopefully Bethesda will be applying these fixes themselves, especially for console players having issues with it since they can't use SFSE.
>>4116753they've been fixing it on their end for Fallout 4 and upping it, doing it for Starfield would greatly increase the amount of creations they can put in since Starfield is a vastly bigger game closer to the limits than all their previous games.
>>4116230>back on the mapWhat map?
>>4116775it came out 3 years ago and was one of the most popular games of all time when it came out and still beloved today
>>4116775The Star Map
>>4117256is that some kind of joke?
>>4116230>Here some cool spaceship building featuresaww sweet! can I fly my ship on and around planets?>no
>>4118563You can do it around planets now, still no in atmosphere flight yet
I hope AI makes starfield goodBut it's probably not the base most people will use
>>4119029Starfield is probably in a better position for vibecoding than most games considering it's systems are much more advanced compared to Skyrim and Fallout 4, and also less prone to breaking. One modder in particular actually fairly recently released a AI generated mod aimed to fix the pointer handle limit that was thought to be an impossible fix without extensive access to the game's code
The Dogs N Cats mod will have cat pets soon bros!https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/18346
Cats are here!
>>4124079Petbros we won
The game was thoroughly mediocre for me. The questlines were fine. Constellation as an organization didn't really click for me, but it wasn't offensively bad.The companions were fine. I liked Andreja and VASCO, both Sam and Sarah were okay, Barrett's reddit humor and homolust bothered me. The best parts were mostly the non-Constellation people like the Adoring Fan, Heller and Lin, Mathis the Raider, Model G, etc.The dragonshout Starborn powers were meh. Unless you're speedrunning them, you don't get them early enough to feel like they have much weight and when you do get them, I found I basically just used the Stamina refill or the sense enemies power to hunt down stragglers over and over. The attack powers are weaker than guns, and the anti-grav stuff, while initially amusing, doesn't really make combat any easier or different. The factions were actually pretty good. I liked that it wasn't UC good, Fresstar bad, and even the Va'ruun and Crimson Fleet stuff had a lot more meat than I expected. Ryujin was very good too, especially playing as a Corpo Operative. Nothing stood out as being amazing, but they were better than the factions in say, Skyrim or Fallout 4.Basebuilding and Shipbuilding? Absolute GOAT. Best part of the game, the entire reason I keep coming back. More fun than it had any right to be. Every new playthrough is just me taking perks and bumrushing levels and credits to get to where I can start just designing a fleet of ships and playing around with base building. In that vein, the best thing they could release is more of this. Let your other ships be assigned temporary pilots/captains and join you in space battles. More design pieces. Easier colony placement (spend 50% of the base building time scouting a planet for good resource node overlap). And so on.
>>4124117Yeah, it's a solid 7/10 game. Definitely not the best space game out there, but it has the potential of becoming one the more Bethesda and modders continue to support it.>Let your other ships be assigned temporary pilots/captains and join you in space battlesThere's a few paid mods available for that now, the most notable one being Watchtower which is this whole big ass quest mod that not only lets you assemble a fleet, but also allows you to install these things called skydrops on your fleet ships, allowing you to call in orbital strikes from the ground, drop supplies, spawn ai controlled mechs, etc.
>>4116230This game will not recover. Creation engine is dated and dead. Few people can stomach this shit anymore, so Bethesda is gonna have to switch it up if they want people to care again, but even that's a large ask, because they still have no writing talent and all their games suffer from shit story and dialogue. Open world gameplay just won't carry a game anymore like it used to. CDPR is way too strong as a competitor in this market for them to release something so bad that it can be easily compared/contrasted to similar games.
>>4125196>This game will not recover.>because they still have no writing talent and all their games suffer from shit story and dialogueOnly debatable parts of your post, the rest is a load of horseshit
>>4125206Whatever you say, anon.
Looks like we're about to get seamless landings, bros!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-E7tspL6-c
>>4125875Kerbalbros, our response?
>>4118278Nobody would ever give a major release by a major studio a bad review no matter how much they deserve it
Is Starfield fun if I don’t even care if it’s an RPG at all, and I just want to build space ships and fly them around and go pew pew pew at space-groids?
>>4126132yesyou can set up a little bounty hunting base on a beautiful planet with good vistas
>>4126132Starfield is by all means a mixed game, people who love space games and understand the limitations of the genre will appreciate the things starfield does well. There are people who hate it completely as well. However it's a game with a lot of good and bad to it but it's definitely worth checking out if you like big space games.
>shilling a terrible game just to contrarian
>>4126391the only people who hate starfield are woketrannies and nobody listens to them and their opinions of games.
>>4126391>hurr durr I can't believe that there's people that actually likes something that I don't, they must all just be pretending! You've been spending way too much time in these echo chambers
>>4126436starfield is written by HR, exactly the kind of wokeslop loved by trannies
>>4126509HR wouldnt write a main story quest about how Christian god is real, the one true religion and how it's responsible for the events in the game.
Its such a good game hardly anyone plays it anymore!
>>4126519what the hell are you talking about schizo
In any case, whatever dumb ideological shit you people come up with is largely irrelevant and doesn't automatically make a game good or bad on it's own. And anybody who relies on it without being able to come up with some REAL talking points for why they think a game is good or bad that actually indicates that they played it is retarded, plain and simple.
>>4126526>REAL talking pointslets talk about how Starfield has lost 98% of its playerbase on steam then
>>4126573Can you explain why, go into full detail why it loss so many players without just saying it's boring, or recycling surface level talking points like loading screens, lack of lore and pronouns?
>>4126573Gameplay sucks, story sucks, party members suck, "romances" suck, space combat sucks, space magic sucks, all the planets suck, all the copypasted exploreables suck, loot sucks, crafting sucks, the cities suck, and the strip clubs especially suck. seriously what is that fucking god awful teletubby outfit?
>>4126577meant for>>4126576also, the settlement building and resource gathering sucks
>>4126577>>4126578You might have been better off supplying an AI generated response if you're gonna be that lazy about it
>>4126585Cope
>>4126591Dilate
>>4126593>trying to psyop everyone into thinking only trannies hate this dogshit game.I think it's more likely you just can't come up with an insult other than some tranny nonsense. It's like back in the day when we called everyone faggots... faggot.
>>4126596No psyop here, just engaging in your little cycle of low effort responses...asshat
>>4126603>please spoonfeed me your opinions so i can inevitably ignore them and keep arguing anywayI'll pass, faggot. I really don't care that this is your favorite game and you cannot be convinced that it's bad.
>>4126607You're free to disengage from the conversation if you want to, you just have to realize that you're not providing anything substantial for why you think all the things you've listed sucks, which is indicative to me that you either don't really know what you're talking about, probably haven't even played it, or haven't even finished it. You're probably just going to supplant nitpicky opinions on it gathered by those who have played this game, like Asmongold or whatever internet personality people like to fellate right now. I mean you could have said something like "enemies are too bullet spongy, the game's performance is subpar and desperately need a reworking, too many bugs halting my game progress without the aid of mods, the combat lacks core features that some of us liked about Fallout like V.A.T.S, I'm used to such and such from other similar games that feels very underutilized in Starfield, etc.", but no, you're just going to respond with "this shit sucks", which is not a good explanation for why you think the game has a low player count. And news flash, people are allowed to have opposing opinions and interests. You might not like Starfield, but others do. And of course you're aren't going to be able to convince me to outright hate the game, because while I recognize that it has flaws, I also see the potential in it to evolve, and I'm also enjoying what it currently provides us right now.
>>4126132The game lets you build ships, some minor issues (Parts only available at some locals, and unable to control door placement) There are mods that fix those.Flying around was improved with the Free Lanes Update (it's free). Pew Pewing in space is kind of meh. It happens but is rather limited most of the time.Pew pewing on the ground is better but not by much. There's a number of locations to visit when you Land a the Planet or Moon and while there might be different breed of space asshole in different cryo labs, their span locations are the same.
>>4126623>you have to finish a game before you can say it sucksnah
Looks like Bodyslide and Outfit Studio finally got releasedhttps://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/18449
>>4116230i will buy this eventually if it ever goes on steep discount or shows up in a humble monthly. designing a little spaceship and zooming around a galaxy is inherently fun to me even if the rest of the game is shitty.
>>4129526you have No Man's Sky for that
>>4129526There's isn't any galaxy to zoom around.Play literally any space game rather than a gamebryo engine bethesda game with cell-based world.
>>4129746There is, but you're limited to interplanetary flight. Hopping to different solar systems still requires fast travel.
Starfield now has a built in video player where you can play your own videos on a custom outpost TV, and even connect youtube to it
>>4129746yeah and none of them are sandbox RPGs so fuck that
>>4116230No you can't fix such a flawed project you can't fix this games garbage story the starborn shouldn't of been put into the game at all.
>>4130504Pretty sure you can do that with fallout 4. I know you can do that with the main menu in skyrim.
>>4126519There christian parts of the game the god in shitfield is deist at best faggot but I don't think you even know what the words christian and deist even mean. If you think Bethesda wrote a space game about how the chistian god is real tard.
>>4131360>There christian parts of the game the god in shitfield is deist at best faggot but I don't think you even know what the words christian and deist even mean. If you think Bethesda wrote a space game about how the chistian god is real tard.Look at what Common Core has done to these poor kids.
>>4131357Fallout 4 has an older mod for it called Videos of the Wasteland, though it's more complicated to set up. I hope to see mod for this in Skyrim too someday so I can place them in modern player homes.https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/24435https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/18465

>>4116230Fallout 4 got a mod, an expansion, a quality one, with the main character VAs returning to their roles. A 10 year old game. Cyberpunk 2077 got an update as well.I'm pleased. Nowadays enthusiastic modders have the opportunities to create content that's on par with official releases. Gone are the days of cringy fan mods with amateur actors and poor sound quality. And games aren't made to be obsolete 2 years after release. A well suited approach for these big RPGs that players always return to.Good times for gaming. Well, for those studios that survive by making good games.
>>4135990isn't fallout 4 "dlc" a mod by kinggath?
>vg threads so dead, starfield had to move hereFucking hell.Hopefully Bethesda makes their games smaller and less repetitive from now on. 1000 planets, what a cancerous decision.I truly believe everything else could have been fixed, but 1000 planets is just impossible.
>>4138245/stag/ is still alive on /vg/ for now, but until the next DLC drops, it's currently at the mercy of all those gacha generals and tends to archive overnight. /tesog/ and /pal/ had the right idea to move to different boards.
>>4138245>Hopefully Bethesda makes their games smaller and less repetitive from now onYea imagine if they had learned their lesson after going from Daggerfall to MorrowindHaha
