What is your favorite Dragon Quest game?

3, 4, 5, and 8 are all way up there for me. Probably lean 5.

I will say that DQ2 3dHD was such a better game the original 2 it really sold me on the game so much more than the original. Honestly if you aren't a die hard fan 2nes is terrible.

>>4116964>liesNo way. It's certainly not a Dragon Quest game in the traditional sense of creatable party members, various themed regions, and a tonal imbalance, but the GBC port is very fun. I played it when I was younger so to me the plot was easier to follow and it was a nice chill escalation.
The first one. I also had some fun with 3 and 9, but I haven't cared for the other entries I've tried.

Has anyone here ever played 6? I’ve heard mixed things it about the character designs in that game have always interested me and made me want to try it out.

>>4120555Beaten it a few times. It peaks in the first act, everything after you unlock classes is pretty bad by DQ standards.

>>4120555Only played the nds version, personally enjoyed it a lot but if someone said it's worse than 4 or 5 I wouldn't argue. Story is a bit meandering but it has some very memorable scenes imo, the superboss foreshadowing sequence is cool as fuck, and so is the cutscene for beating him.Job system is ok, but too grindy if you don't speedhack a gorillion battles. It's a pretty big game content-wise and feels like they threw a bunch of shit at the wall to see what sticks, rather than a focused story compared to something like DQV. Tons of great music tracks, I'd recommend listening to that at the very least.
