>Ah yes, ‘LLMs.’ The supposedly intelligent machines allegedly capable of replacing every knowledge worker. We have dismissed that claim.

This space dating sim is not an RPG. You wouldn’t care about this game if you could have sex with a hot woman.
>>
>>4125209
>you dont assume a role and play it
>>
If there is one good application of LLMs, it's bringing NPCs to life with near-endless conversation options (that and the nightmarish landscapes and scenes early AIs tended to create back in 2023) but NO ONE makes use of them this way
>>

>NPC options
This was always kinda doable with bark sheets and mad libs
Having every NPC be a chatbot sounds cool at first but it turns out to have a lot of issues in practice as it’s very hard to control for and you’re still looking for keywords from the user anyways. Maybe it can help with recognizing when the user does mean a given subject (asking what the reapers are based on context clues in what they’re saying, for instance) but playtesting that sounds like a hellish thing to work with along with how you keep the model from going into punt mode if the payer curses too much or makes a rape joke. Like you could in theory have an NPC go “why are you talking about pre-relay history, we have more important shit to worry about like this batarian raid” if the player brings up some /pol/ type shit. But AI agents are notoriously unable to handle that sorts stuff.

You can assume the role of an African American basketball player in NBA 2K. Is NBA 2K an RPG?

Stupid faggot.

Mass effect is a fun setting to bully
So many stupid things in it that it's kek
>20 thousand cycles
>Asari body count across 900 years
>Infinity krogans
>AI banned but the eldritch AIs kill you to stop AI
>Control reapers option (everyone who tried it failed) and Synthesis option (yes make everyone reaper husks bro) are not even real choices
>Humanity mogging these retarded aliens so bad in 40 years they run the council, have the most powerful criminal org and improved on the tech
>Geth dindu
>No somehow no one across a billion years figuring out they could just crucible the reapers
>Other galaxies still more primitive than the galaxy that gets reset every fifty millennia
>No one thought to just spend to a few centuries going to another galaxy this whole time
>Funded by Cerberus btw

This isn't the time. I have to get back to my duties. We'll fry you later, Sparatus. Tell your bitch wife I said hello

Welp guess Mass Effect is dead forever. RIP the possibility of getting more romanceable femTurians.
At least now it's fair game for an indie dev to make a spiritual successor (it won't happen)

My nigga, Exodus is exactly that, even has some ex-ME devs IIRC

Good they can't keep dragging out the franchise to make more slop with it.

of all the bullshit about the ending, i'm actually okay with this one (including the fact that you've made peace between the geth and quarians).
it's not inconceivable that throughout a billion years and who knows how many cycles (20 000 is just a guess assuming 50 000 years between a cycle, it might be more or less than that), and the time of the leviathans before that, however long that was, that they'd witnessed many races seemingly making peace with robuts only to just get exterminated a thousand years later, or many failed attempts to ban ai.
on a long enough timeline they might have become convinced that all these attempts to make peace with AI or ban it were doomed to failure and were always short-lived.
>>
>>4131631
The AI ban came after the reapers were due to invade. Sovereign tried to get them with the rachni, but the rachni got pwned.
>>4146993
They'd eventually have another krogan rebellion level galactic crisis and the geth would decide to kill or control all organics. Evolution is chaotic. Synthetics recognize that as a problem.

The main issue with this whole organics vs synthetics debacle is that they're one and the same on a macro level.
Yes, they have a lot of implementation differences, but they're indistinguishable from one another at scale.
Both are sophisticated matter-to-energy and energy-to-matter converters that are curious, bold, expansionist and striving to maintain homeostasis.
Not because it's some grand plan or anything, but because everybody else will be eventually displaced by the species with this profile.
Any flaw that afflicts an organic society can afflict a synthetic one and vice versa.
They're one and the same.
If you genuinely think that they cannot co-exist with one another, you're also making this claim about organics/other organics and synths/other synths.
You're actually making the case for a total genocide.
>>
All that matters is can you bang them

>You're actually making the case for a total genocide.
i think the shivans in freespace 2 actually were hinted to be doing what they're doing, culling expansionist space-faring war-like races, so younger races get a chance to thrive for a while before getting stomped, as opposed to being immediately stomped by more advanced races while they're still stuck on their home planet. iirc the ancients were killed off because of that and in their absence the vasudans and humans got to develop.

Nta idk but I'll try making that claim for anon

Can the Krogan and Hanar share a Homeworld as equals or would the Hanar get BTFO'd? Can the Protheans and 38 primitive space-faring races share a Galaxy as equals or would they get dominated? Can Humans and Leviathans be equals or would they enslave as?
>>
>>4149472
>Can the Krogan and Hanar share a Homeworld as equals
Yes because Hanar are fucking aquatic while Krogan are terrestrial holy shit.
