So I'm playing the original Wizardry via the SNES port and loving it so far.I just discovered Murphy's Ghost so that has been really helpful to me and just saw online that basically everyone has been grinding it since the 80s lol.Anyways what I wanted to ask is, should I always just use the stables to rest? First off it's free but the 2nd thing is I read it lowers the risk of your character basically aging to death? How much usage of it would be overusing it and running that risk?
>>4128750I've always used the stables myself, I don't see a reason to use the other rooms personally. Now, if they influenced level ups to make them better on average, I'd change my tune real quickly but I've never read anything of the sort.

If Wizardry on the SNES had an open world to explore with NPCs to talk to with a plot to unfold and such, it would be so much better.as a side note yes it's always better to use the stables to renew cure wounds spells and heal that way- just for saving the coin.

It has this harshness and risk that makes me feel like I am really in a dungeon and having to plan my expeditions carefully. I feel like other DRPGs I've played are really fun, they just don't feel like they have quite the same level as danger and planning. Also feel it is a bit easier to disorient yourself in these games which adds to the appeal for me since I love making my own maps like in picrel.Btw, this isn't my first Wizardry, I've played VI for context but that had a very different formula with being in the dungeon the whole time so the going back to town mechanic is new and different to me.
>>4128750>SNES portsWorks of art, that cover says it all. Excellent taste anon.
>>4128750Wished we got this back then or was it going to kill every jarpig that was coming overseas?
>>4132958"Blobbers" weren't what the western console audience wanted, the JRPGs that sold well focused on stories, pre-written characters and all the other things that the traditional dungeon crawler often ignored. And also pretty much every japanese played on a console while they probably assumed that the people that wanted to play blobbers in the west already did it on a computer.
