What do you think about this?

/vrpg/ hates elden ring because it isn’t an incredibly boring retro 2d turnbased jrpg
>>4142999One of the greatest games ever. I must confess, my gamer skills aren't what they used to be no mo, but I got through it.
It's not a compelling game. I've put it down for months at a time and have to relearn the controls every time. I made it to a snowy region, I think, but haven't finished it yet. I know I cheesed a few bosses with poison.
>>4142999overrated dogshit for tryhards
>>4142999Early and mid game can be decent but the late game is shit. Also too big for its own good and there is way to much repetition.
>>4142999The only truly great game released in this decade.
Bosses giving you fuckall time to hit them between their 15 second combat animations is bad game design and I don't blame people for using the Mimic Tear to even the fight

I really did not like Elden Ring. I don't like what the Souls series morphed into. Granted, 3 was halfway through the transformation, but Elden Ring is entirely there. Dark Souls is fundamentally about tight dungeon design with sadistic traps and enemy placement and resource management. Not just life and mana, but the way Souls work. Elden Ring shouldn't even have the Souls system. It is entirely vestigial. You will never lose your souls, because there's a checkpoint every 2 feet. Pretty much everything is sacrificed in favor of ridiculous bosses that fly around the arena with 2 second windows where you attempt to hit them. Open world games suck ass, and this is no exception. How are you supposed to have level design and enemy placement for anything other than a handful of real dungeons, when you just ride past everything on your horse-goat-thing?And yes, I know Elden Ring isn't technically a Souls game, as it doesn't have Souls in the title. But it was presented as a follow up and the same type of game.I fucking loathe how Dark Souls morphed from a slow paced, punishing dungeon crawler where each enemy matters into a game where you wildly roll around multi-phase bosses as faux-epic orchestral music plays. That happens literally once in Dark Souls, which is why it was memorable there.

>>4142999I enjoyed it, but I also felt a bit burned out on it by the end.>>4143229Wouldn't tryhards be championing a difficult game instead of a casual action-RPG?
