He never threw mutas "harassing" the mineral lines, just probed for a weakness, put his mutas between Hero's two bases, forcing him to do something, and he chose to take the fight; did Zerg Gigachad Soma know he would do this and that he would win the engagement? He only began killing drones after gaining air superiority, some of his mutas died or were put in the red by Hero's spores, but it was well worth the exchange. How?First, the path to mass Zerg air is very simple and tested at the highest level: mass muta opening against mech in particular, or muta opening against bio. The only necessary adjustments being queens against bio (ensnare reduces stimmed marine dps to unstimmed levels), and faster defilers against mech, skipping the usual hydra finisher/pivot (goyliaths and tanks are, of course, immune to the ensnare attack speed debuff, per the usual Terranny imbalance). Second, the path to victory is also very simple: between fast ensnare, devourer debuff (which also reduces attack speed, stacks with ensnare), and fast plague, any Terranny air unit push would fail, moreover, a bio push would die to ensnare, mass mutas, and sunkens, and, finally, an all goyliath push would be constantly delayed by the Zerg Chad threatening to destroy the Terranny's key buildings with the mutas, enough to get plague and consume in time. The finisher is obvious: the Terranny can neither take a third nor efficiently trade against the Zerg Chad, for once, therefore, the Zerg Chad will expand uncontested and run the Terranny over.

Zergschizo here. Let us consider the broad strokes of each game:Game 1. Definitely the strangest of the seven. Gigachad was on four gasses and the Terranny on three. Moreover, Gigachad was active with his mutas and killed a lot of scvs and even some goyliaths in the Terranny's base, while the Terranny only killed a couple of drones in the first small push. Why, then, was he still outnumbered so quickly? Killing Terranny or Tosser workers does not seem to matter at all.Game 2. Timing-wise and build-wise, a standard Terranny win. Still, should this happen in the final against the Gigachad? Probably not. Moreover, consume was finished and, in theory, the game was not lost. But it's probably for the best to not let the Terranny get his troonrush through a more protracted win. Game 3. Gigachad goes for a drone-ling attack, blindsiding the Terranny and almost winning. Bunkers, of course, allow him to survive for free. The Terranny then immediately masses vultures and tries to go into Gigachad's main for fatal damage, Gigachad masterfully blocks, without bunkers, mind you, taking minimal damage. This is the first Terranny tilt, whereafter he trickles goyliaths, the attack mirroring saliva trickling from a mouth seething at his victory not being affirmed, and loses to muta-hydra.Game 4. Thinking symphonically, that is to say, thinking of each game as its own distinct movement, Gigachad seizes the tempo with a blind 4pool. Note that the Terranny probably heard the crowd noises, as always, and did not go cc first, as he did in the other six games, but tried a bbs. Naturally, a bunker almost allowed him to survive for free again, but Gigachad was on point and won. Note: the second game with a drone attack.

Ironically, Match Point was deliberately brought back from the landfill specifically to stop Zerg Chads (mech would be devastating: the natural could be sieged from the low ground, 12 and 6 could be sieged from across the wall, the corner bases seiged from the ramp to the low ground, Terrannies can hold three gasses for free just by holding the on bit high ground, etc.), but it just did the Terranny in instead: the natural wall is kinda wonky by itself, never mind the mineral patch, and the natural is unusually small, not allowing any one base recover there.Most importantly: Zerg Chads have held the title for the SIXTH time in a row. It is self-evident that the first half the KeSPA era is equivalent to the first half the current era so what, then, accounts for Terranny Flash winning six titles in the latter half of the former, why did it not reach a natural post-Terranny state, as the latter half of the current era has? From 2006 to 2012, several abnormal things occurred: first, Tossers completely gave up, second, the Zerg meta shifted from the July-Savior way, of playing Zerg as Zerg, to the Jaedong-Effort way, the belief that microbotting and macrobotting would allow Zergs to play as if they were Terrannies or Tossers (that, for example, the presence of one Zerg unit could change the outcome of the game if it was simply out fast enough, as all Terranny and Tosser units do, or that enough macro would make Zerg a-move as effective as Terranny or Tosser a-move, etc.). the reason why he didnt play a little bit safer was demonstrated all throughout this ASL though. his arms/wrists are gone, and he wants to avoid having to do a lot of heavy micro (especially in long series) as much as he can which makes eeking out every buildorder/optimization advantage he can get.there's a reason he went mech in nearly every game and why his SCV micro was pretty ass.
