How fares your empire?post picture proof of your empires
>>2379305What version of Master of Magix are you playing?
Played as a migrating OPM and fed a colonial state in australia.Lowered migration time as much as possible, migrating gives monarch power which I could use for developing.I'd develop provinces, migrate away and then colonize them. Provinces with high development have a chance of getting Cloth, Paper and Glass as trade goods, a mechanic most likely meant for rerolling trade goods after abolishing slavery.Red: ClothWhite: PaperTeal: GlassYellow: GoldTwo provinces are dashed with cyan, that just means they have coal which can be used late in the game. This was when Colonial Nations only lost half of their income they paid out in tariffs. So with 100% tariffs I'd get 100% of their income, modified by my +%tariff modifier and they'd still keep 50%.

>>2383072forgot that i reinstalled MOO1 with old saves, when i got sick of MOO2 being slow and tedious.i think my most recent save here. played as psilons stuck in the corner of the map. got rekt by klackon wars. managed to grab 1 lousy artifact planet in an area full of poor planets. klacks had absurd stacks of 30000 small ships some of the time, which might be a bug or the difficulty mode trying too hard to cheat. some klack planets had 100+ missile bases.surprised by rockmen who are usually weaker in this game and MOO2. they took over Orion in less than 100 turns, but was somehow lower tech than klacks. rocks people might have won the game if not for klack's absurd stacks of doom. they each also had 50+ tech levels in computers , so it was impossible for me to steal tech from them. rock traded Blackhole gun to me, but it was already too late.endgame cutscene is weird to me or bugged? when i voted for klackons in a council vote, which made them win, i got the same cutscene for winning by destroying every other race? huh?

Normandy, grey are vassals. I'm bored and dont know what to do next. I could conquer the rest of Ireland and Scotland but dont see the point
>>2385283I can never get over how ugly borders look in this game. There was zero reason for paradicks to not restrict border changes to regions like in vic2 or hoi4 so that the borders look nice.
>>2385283>Duchy of Anjoewho?
not really an empire, but neat strategy game map
>>2390049>>2379305Man these old maps appeal to me so much, they just ooze the kind of charm that I can't get enough of. Are these games any good? I'm always hesitant to go back to much older games because I worry they just don't have the depth I'm looking for. Then again maybe I'm wrong, the original XCOM is one of my favorites.
>>2390087Master of Magic is a very good 4x TBS game, but it is a bit clunky and dated, it needs a good remake to properly handle the depth of its mechanics since there isn't enough varied pushback from the AI.If you're already into 4x strategy games like Civilization or later Age of Wonders games, then it could be interesting.Homm2 and Homm3 are non-4x TBS games, and I don't think either are very dated. It's hard to say that you'd like homm based on any other games honestly. Some of the balancing in homm2 might feel very unintuitive, so in singleplayer homm2 will feel "solved" faster than homm3. Homm3 has a very active multiplayer scene, but you don't need to play multiplayer to enjoy it.Check one of the homm3 threads for which version you should be playing. There's a homm3 on steam that you should avoid, some bad upscaled hd edition. Or just ask them for further questions getting them to sell you on the depth of the game. It's not really an empire building game, but there's a lot of thought going into management of logistics and tactics in combat, depending on the template and single vs multi. You'll see homm3 in a lot of people's 3x3s.
>>2390380>homm3 on steam that you should avoid, some bad upscaled hd editioni think the non- "HD" version is still sold on GOG. and if you don't want to torrent the GOG version, the ISO for HOMM3 Complete edition is still on the webz somewhere.>>2390087if you can beat X-com 1 , you can beat MOM and have fun with it. HOMM2 maybe not so much. the campaign in the HOMM games tend to be stupidly hard and require very efficient moves. but most people just play with the randomiser in HOMM3 or the custom maps. not quite as much depth as MOM.
>>2390380HoMM can be 4x, HoMM can wear many hats depending on the map design.
>>2396724No, homm2 and homm3 can't.You don't settle in those homm games, kind of a key feature of a 4x game is that eXpanding and eXterminating can be done separately.Homm not being a 4x game, doesn't make it any less good, it's just not a useful way to describe it and a very useful way to describe other generally turn based games. You know how different homm is to games like civ, moo, mom, they share something homm doesn't have and it is best described as being 4x games. We don't go around calling counter-strike an rpg just because you really like it and don't want your game to be excluded, regardless if you can argue that you are playing the role of the terrorist in the game, it is much more useful to just call it an fps game.
>>2396734If you say so it must be true.
man you made me load up master of magic
>>2398304 >>2396724play the games, AI poster who didn't play the games. or at least watch the youtuber videos.
It's been sitting for a while now and I don't frankly feel like finishing it at the moment so I just go through the motions.
