I only played the demo, but it was ok. It's very "modern", though I liked that it's based on 1 instead of 2.

It's closer to 1 than 2, like the other anon said.
It also tries giving the commandos more personality and there's even some sort of an ovearching plot, but you can safely ignore it.
If you know anything about the genre, pick the highest difficulty, which is still not very hard.
Marine is the MVP this time, Spy got seriously nerfed.
Graphics look modern and boring compared to 1 and 2, but not bad by any means.
There are 2 DLCs with 4 maps each, decent, but nothing special.

Game's good, but not really memorable. It takes the right lessons from Mimimi games but that's it

Well, the principle IS trial and error until you figure out the puzzle, after which it's all about the execution. Watching Commandos 1 speedruns just shows you how much you suck.
Point is that it's different from savescumming in other games, because it's part of the "gameplay loop", if you will.
Though I also can't think of a better way to incorporate that so faggots like you stop whining about MUH SAVESCUMMING.
