>>2408220You will never RTS.
why does this thread exist when this entire board is an RTS general
>>2408728Oh right, if the autistic zero-k nigger made a zero-k thread he would get no attention or replies. So he has to disguise it as something else. The end result will be the same though, not sure what he's counting on. Nobody cares about that game on this planet, except for him personally
>>2408728This board is a grand strategy MOBA 4X general.
>>2408731This basicallyIt is awful to have this guy lumped with BAR and Supcom threads
>>2409091so basically RTS general
>>2409118Not really. But this thread is.
>>2408115>"RTS never died.">lists of a bunch of dead gamesThanks for showing us that RTS is actually dead, OP.
>>2408115Having fun reading the cold takes, they're interesting. I wish the RTS playerbase had less autistic tribalism
>>2417257You lost and got raped.

>>2409219>Half of them are only on steam Why wouldn't they put them all in the wiki? Steam mobile is so shit

>>2417604Source for BasedDevs getting pushed out?
>>2417697By this point it's old news. If you're a newfag to the internet this may have come as a surprise to you but BAR isn't the first game or the last where this kind of shit happens.
>>2417604What the fuck are you talking about? Some of the people working on BAR have been there since the days of BA.
>>2417604>>2417724>BAR dramaOh please let it kill the fucking game. Can't have a single tangentially-related-to-RT on /v/ without barafags shilling their shit, even when the discussion is about completely different families of RTS.It only stopped recently when OP started making daily RTS general for some retarded reasons and got the focus redirected on Zero-K.
>>2417823I still don't understand the hate between ZeroK posters and BAR posters. Is a man not allowed to like both? They're different enough for it IMHO.
>>2418075Hatred is an important aspect of RTS fanboyism. If you're into a particular game and put thousands of hours into it, you probably don't need to play another one ever. And to cope with that, you must assume that other RTSes are for fags and not worth playing. Also, you want others to think the same because it makes you feel validated and most importantly reinforces your playerbase and suppresses the others'.
>>2418075>Hatred is an important aspect of RTS fanboyism.Fuck no.I have never seen shit like this between RA and WCIII fans, or between Homeworld and Total War fans. Everyone mostly ignore each other since it's apple to orange comparisons anyway.Zerofags and barafags both seems to think there can only be one SupCom derivative. I would find it cute if they didn't shit up the rare organic rts threads /v/ used to have with their evangelism.
>>2418094>apples to oranges comparisons>when talking about BAR vs Zero-K vs SupComWhen players of different games already look down on one another, games that are highly similar like BAR and Zero-K are going to rile them up even more. It's an understandable defense mechanism when the playerbase is small enough as it is and the respective fans try to poach each others' players. This is also the reason RTSfags in general are averse to new games coming out, because each competitor could potentially stretch their small numbers even thinner.
>>2418094anon >>2418082 is right. >I have never seen shit like this between RA and WCIII fans, or between Homeworld and Total War fansIt's the most evident between fans of different TWs, or C&C games, or CoH games or AoE game and so on.People really like to shit on games that are basically identical to the ones they play and for really stupid and subjective reasons too, ZK SupCom and BAR are both TA derivatives so they get autistic cringetards fighting each other online endlessly. Flaming between noticeably different games is rarer but if you go on threads in this very board you'll see them sometimes. I think the people arguing online outnumber the people playing the games that are being argued about, it's really disheartening for someone who enjoy RTS games for the gameplay and not because I just so happen to have played game A instead of game B when I was 12.
What has been said about BAR players is true. Most BAR players defend BAR because that's the only RTS they ever played. Some don't even know about Total Annihilation. Zero-K is objectively way better than BAR. While BARfags spend the first few minutes to build a factory that can output units at a reasonable speed with uninteractive gameplay, Zero-K gigachads instantly plop their first factory for free and instantly, and it has enough buildpower to work on its own without needing a constructor to babysit it with its initial mex cluster. After BARfags spend a bunch of time getting their first factory up, they are still chained to that factory until they get their raped chained constructor out. Zero-K gigachads march their commanders forwards either after constructing 2-3 mexes or from the very first second of the match. Zero-K gigachads have units out and fighting each other within seconds of a match starting. None of that boring setup phase BARfags have to endure.https://zero-k.info/mediawiki/Cold_Takes/14_-_Free_Factories_For_All
>>2418094I like BAR primarily and like ZK fine, I just think it's hideously ugly with shit music and I don't like the flat tech tiers.
>can't have a thread without console wars tier shit flinging
>>2417604Did all of that really happen while I was out for 1-2 years?I knew it would get shittier and shittier when the admins decided to keep pushing for le moderation because the game is le toxic (every multiplayer team game is "toxic"). I don't know why people have such a drive for authoritarianism instead of just making a bunch of filters and letting people individually do what they want
>>2408115
>>2417604Yes. Rumours of going for profit/selling the game off first began when several core devs were kicked under questionable circumstances. After that development slowed, but, and I'm leaning in to the inital conspiracy theory here, it could also be they re focused on developing content for single player which they can include in the sale. Turns out they were planning to sell out and it was leaked when contibutors realised that they were getting the shaft.https://www.reddit.com/r/beyondallreason/comments/1t8pw7n/dear_commanders_we_need_to_talk/The insult is there were no plans to publically announce the sale until after it had gone through, so naturally there's been a fair bit of backlash and a lot of pruning of comments on reddit/discord.Lore writer being a furry is a moot point, he was kicked when the lore was released and received a lot of critisicm.'Player' numbers have always been contentious and manipulated but thats the same for everygame.
