Anyone feel like HOI4 mod developers buff nations way to hard? Like, every nation gets a focus tree that buffs them into oblivion with 30 different national spirits?

I'm playing Kaisereduxx right now and Ukraine literally has 230 factories in 1942 and Japan has only 187. Why does every nation need to have infinite industry and equipment with a shit ton of buffs? It makes it impossible to actually push and is super unrealistic.

Shouldn't there be nations with debuffs too? Like impoverished warlords and 3rd world countries? Instead they all get buffed to shit like they are equivalent in strength to major powers.

The only HOI4 mod you need is notepad++.

Wow look at all that industry.
How will OP ever beat the AI's shitty 6-2 divisions with all those civs?
Truly frightening!

I'm not fighting Ukraine, but I did play Russia before and tried to invade the Reichkspakt, you literally can't push, they have like 10+ divisions on every tile. The AI also won't have 6-2 divisions because they have infinite industry and can have beefy divisions.

HOI4 is essentially more of a historical power fantasy storybook than it is a strategy game. Mod developers just crank it to 11 since they don't need to pretend to care about historical plausibility or depicting the second world war in a respectful or accurate manner.

Git gud, Russia is easy, the only hard part are the minigames trying to get the path you want

Why is Kaiserreich unbalanced though? Every country takes the same path every time and everything always happens the same way.
Real balance is unbalance because things actually happen.

Your fault for playing an unbalanced mod like KX

KX isn't that unbalanced.

>1942
>WOW I CANT BELIEVE UKRAINE HAS FACTORIES
This happens to every country that survives this long.
Ukraine specifically gets the Industrialization decisions that take minimum 3 years to kick in. Pair that with some other focuses that give them a handful of factories, then by 1941 this is nothing special.
Japan in your game looks like they won in China which is not unusual, but their strength isn't in raw factory numbers it's in their alliance network and navy. If the AI loses in China, Japan becomes a totally useless nation but only because the AI in general is retarded when invading SEA and the Pacific.
Also Ukraine being the landed power is going to feel more OP compared to Japan because Japan has to project their navy somewhere in order to send their army away from the home islands. You only really feel the oomph of the factories when fighting Ukraine because the AI is better at handling massive land powers for ex. Russia.

But Ukraine had more military factories than Japan in both 1939 and 2026.
