>>2410700Unironically but thisIt was my first paradox game everAnd my god it still fucking mogs to this fucking day
>>2410700Sell it to me. Never got what made it so special.
>mod links>no muvluv mod
>>2415771Maybe you can provide a link?
>>2415777I'm actually looking into it and I can't figure out how I originally got it to work, and this newest version of DH on steam seemed to have messed it up.It's a JP mod but there was a way to make it work without using a JP version of DH.
>>2416530It probably just needs DH 1.04 or something like that
>>2415651the war part of the game is fun and there's so many mods that add an insane amount of content and events, lots of flavor and replayablity
>>2415651Hearts of Iron 3 was a very good game at the time, a lot of the community was excited for this spinoff game because PDX licensed their engine for EU and HOI to mod devs so they could make their best mods into a proper game. This one was one of the first and also sadly one of the last because some others didn't come out. Basically it improved upon almost everything in the base game but it's nothing special anymore since HOI4 exists and numerous mods for 4 exist. It's cool if you like some of the older mechanics though, like how HQs worked in 3 or whatever.
>>2422801>HOI3>it's nothing special anymore since HOI4 existsBeyond retarded, don't listen to this mouth breather, as he doesn't even know which game DH is based upon (it is HOI2..)
>>2422801Fucking hell get a load of this retard
>>2415651It was better than HOI2 at a time when HOI3 sucked. I'd say HOI4 is currently a better game than DH, but from what I heard (I don't play HOI4 myself) the past few DLC's ruined the game, so maybe the move is to play R56 instead.Of course, if you're just curious about DH you should try it anyway for yourself to see how you like it.
>>2427327I loathe HOI4 on the simple basis of province level borders following no administrative boundaries and also being unable to make granular adjustments to country borders, only state-level ones.
Been playing it recently. Gave 1914 Turkey a go. First game I was making good progress against Russia + managed to hold the British at Sinai. But I forgot that AI actually made landings in this game so I was not really guarding Levantine shores. Germans were stalling in both fronts anyway.Second game I rushed to the Suez and managed to hold the Brits there. It was easy mode afterwards, especially with the Germans steamrolling the Russians this time. I was capturing territories by the Volga by the time they capitulated. Sadly my gains were gone with the early Soviet peace-out in 1916 except Azerbaijan which I had released. Didn't take a screenshot before the Bolsheviks took power anyway. Entente pussied out of landing in Gallipoli.
Didn't take took long for Germans to break French lines after the eastern front was over. It was fun to watch it play out. USA joined the war but UK sued for peace shortly after France. Meanwhile Soviets imploded and Whites won the civil war. Neither Bulgaria nor the Greeks joined the war, by the way.
Naturally, Germany shat out a bunch of satellies. All I got out of the war was Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kuwait, and Cyprus. And for some reason the game didn't allow me to create convoys to the latter (neither did it create any automatically) so I couldn't even send units to suppress revolt risk over there. But it didn't matter because all I could do was to wait out the end of the scenario at this point, since my policies forbid me from declaring war on randoms. Also China was changing regimes every 6 months. I don't know whether all of that was scripted
>>2415651It's basically HoI 2.5, with the best mix of features from HoI2 bolstered by bunch of features from 3 (the good ones) and also adding eventually best map the game.If only they figured out a way around tech teams so they could be upgradeable, rather than pre-defined, it would be peak HoI
>>2432383The 1914 scenario is very easy to cheese. Just naval land with cavalry divisions.
>>2434833Remember when they had a bunch of smaller scenarios like an Argentinian-Brazilian war and the Arab-Israeli conflict? 1914 feels like one of those posing as a grand campaign.
>>2410700Why would you play this over HoI III?
>>2410700>best ww1 simulator >germany blitzkrieging to the urals every game do any of you even play the games you suck off?
>>2422801I knew this place was full of zoomer posers.
>>2444412Hoi3 literally doesn't work.
>>2445232use v2winfix. it makes the game not crash (outside of mods). hpp stuill crashes occasionally and who tf knows what bice is up to. every other mod ive tried works flawlessly.
>>2444412Hoi3 is like getting a blow job from a buxom 10/10 goddess whose life energy depends solely upon swallowing your cum. DH is like getting assfucked on a cold wet dirty concrete alleyway by a gang of black pimps. Hoi4 is the same only the pimps all have AIDs.
>>2410700Finally gave this game a go and I wish I played this before slop 4. This is exactly what I've been looking for.
There was another HOI2 derivative game that including things like tooling time for factories and general travel times to units. Anyone remember the name of it? I wish those could have been integrated into DH.
>>2448654Arsenal of Democracy?
>>2448654>>2448755Yeah that was Arsenal of Democracy. Tooling was a good mechanic. I don't remember what "general travel times to units" is supposed to be though
>>2448943It was AOD, I meant that when you assigned a general to an army it took time for the bonuses to be applied to simulate the travel time of the general to his new commands.
>>2434833>The 1914 scenario is very easy to cheese.its also rather odd in terms of balance, if you play as france you will get basically 0 help from your allies and the UK will have 30 divisions fucking around elsewhere, USA will barely help so you've got to solo the western front
