>Dies of mid
you can't die from that
>ui doesn't scale
>>2416791It's woke
EAT THE S O U P O U P
I love this game
I'm trans btw
>oh wow a new city builder>and it has a really cool theme>>actually I'm a story puzzle game
>>2416791mid doesn't really describe itaesthetically, i think it's great and for a while it's engaging but it suffers from>a severe lack of depth (anno supply chains would be a solution)>being essentially a puzzle game because there are so few choices>relying entirely on aesthetic choices in the laws tree most of which you don't even actually see so it's just larpand it's ok to make a game about larping but it's very linear
>>2416791They made scenarios and expansions to solve the low replayability problem but nobody played them or cared. Including me.
saw this get shilled really hard, sounded interesting so i downloaded it without checking the devs. had a fun time exploring the gameplay loop but a few hours in i go>wait a minute this feels familiarsure enough it was the frostpunk guys. god damn it i hope it's not too bad with the puzzlegaming and railroading. there is zero chance i'll consider starting another run if i get fucked over by some bullshit
>>2416873Same with Against the Storm. The genre can be fun though.
>>2416873this, so much this, absolute waste of the setting.
I was actually very excited about Frostpunk back then, but it turned out that your citizens aren't actual entities. They don't move to work, to their house or the generator to keep warm. It's all just graphical slop, which has no connection to the gameplay. They might as well have placed a random 3D video over your entire town screen, because nothing that happens in your city actually changes the numbers. Only the buildings you place do.

>>2417009Last Autumn was great though
It's factually incorrect to call it a puzzle game because you can win through a variety of methods
>>2417213>They don't move to work, to their house or the generator to keep warmThey actually do. Try to build something far away and you will notice how slow they are. Time is weird in city building games.
>>2417213t. has played for 5 minutes and has never seen "X is sick" or "X is on the way to work"
>>2417322>>2417323I was talking about the original. Is the sequel different?
>>2417331no, this is in the original
>>2417331Ironically, your description perfectly fits FP2
Endless mode completely changed the game to an actual survival city builder rather than just a puzzle game.
>>2417367It sucks as a city builder and the balance is awful for a survival game
>Complete the "focus tree">Game end: Fuck You! y u do this????
>>2417723>blindly go down a path of tyranny because every step seemed like the obvious next choice
>>2417723this guy got filtered by spec ops the line
>>2417106>Alters>I hope it's not too bad with the puzzlegaming and railroading. The railroading is worse, much worse. All doors lead to the same room even when it doesn't make sense. There's an infamous part of the game where your Alters rebel against you, if they're unhappy with your decisions it makes sense but you can have the entire party content and happy with your decisions and they'll still plan to murder you in your sleep.
>>2419978>You DARE serve us SOUP?! >You must DIE!
>>2420103I don't think soup is actually that big of a deal breaker and also it's obviously a watery 19th century flophouse soup that's just stretching the same amount of calories into bigger volume to temporarily trick people into feeling full but they are malnourished in the long run.
>>2417723Soup is the benign alternative to sawdust rations. Game won't get mad at you for soup, only your citizens who will lose a little hope and gain a little discontent.
