Come, son, and confess your heretical acts.

Like the unpopular opinion threads, but for the things you've DONE (or not), instead of the things you think about.

I'll start with a few:
- I've never played any of the Warcraft games; the first two are too old for my taste, and the third one really puts me off with its RTS/RPG mixture
- Related to the above, I tried playing Spellforce and hated every minute of it
- Total Annihilation filtered me hard. In fact, the only TA-like that I enjoy is Supreme Commander.
- In spite of playing it for over 50 hours, I do not know how to play Victoria 2. I follow guides, but I've yet to understand the underlying mechanisms of the gameplay.
- I pre-ordered Company of Heroes 2. I regret it with every fiber of my soul.

>your heretical acts
I played several RTS with a controller (the old PS1 ones that didn't even had joysticks) and it was fine.
99% of the playerbase don't use keyboard shortcuts anyway, and it take barely 10 minutes getting used to moving the cursor with arrows.
RTS don't do much on consoles because the playerbase is massively balls&guns players, that's it.

Had I not played Halo Wars over 15 years ago in my old Xbox 360, I would've asked for you to be burned at the stake. Alas, the controls were, in fact, quite decent for a console RTS, and the game was supremely enjoyable. You may go in peace.
>>
I like to play Civilizations game more as simulators than strategy games. Like I don't chase any specific victory type, I just like to see my civilization grow and imagine the history of this world.

>be king
>faggot start obvious power grab
>tell him to fuck off
>faggot declare you not king
>your enemies rally around that and start shit against you and your allies
>apologize to faggot so he declare you king again
>he does, but with a ton of small lines in the contract so your enemies can still instigate civil war on your turf
>end up having to invade Rome to kill faggot and make this shit stop
lmao

Based beyond belief. That is how every 4X/Grand strategy should be played, aesthetics before mere function.

>pre-ordering games
What a retard

Real medieval history is far more interesting and exciting than any faggoty "historical fantasy". No fiction writer could ever, no even with a million monkeys with typewriters, come up with all the bullshit of the Guelphs vs Ghibellines conflict.

I use cheat on every Civilization game I play because I am not capable of winning any of them.
I literally lose every single game, even at minimum difficulty.
>>
I don't like total annihilation style RTS, they're overrated
>>
I play Master of Magic as an RPG. My cities are there just to produce funds for heroes and artifacts, while said heroes go around dungeon crawling.
>>
I don't like APM heavy RTS and if playing skirmish will choose low speed if such option exists

Related to >>2428435 I enjoy playing strategy with controller and will go out of my way to find a strategy game exclusive/port on console or phone to kill some time on vacation.. CivRev and Endwar are great because of that.
>>
>>2425846
- I like HOI4
- I like the idea of getting into Victoria 2, but I find the economy too complicated and unpredictable
- I really only give a shit about Paradox interactive titles, nothing else quite interests me
>>
>>2425846
I have bought at least 50€ worth of P*radox DLCs
>>
- Used to buy into "muh gookclick" and other arguments that tried to discredit online play as strategy while growing up
- kinda related but I didn't play a blizzard game until about 2 years ago when I tried brood war and there is something just right about it
- I don't think most of the old C&C were that good in gameplay and are hard carried by the fmv and the nostalgia, especially ra2
- TA-likes puzzle me a bit because apart from unit allocation I don't see a lot of the other strategic parts, no timing attacks, composition of one's army barely changes the opponent's unless air or subs are involved, there's the "aha terrain matters in TA" meme posted but most maps don't even have interesting terrain
-I wouldn't count it as sin but HoI2 darkest hour sits untouched in my library, it's the only paradox game I have
-similarly I have quite a few hex&counters wargames I haven't touched yet in my library (did play panzer general and decisive campaign ardenne assault)
