Recently found out about this game. Is it good? The demo was fun, at least.
>>2427852It's nice and for the price it sits at it's worth the bucks (if development doesn't stall). The developer is pushing out updates often and you have 8 factions with a varied roster and two heroes each so there's some replayability on the three 'campaigns'.Sieges are pretty weak though, and the terrain isn't enough to distinguish maps from each other with no elevation to speak of and modifiers that can ruin your run. (avoid fog if you rely on ranged, rain if you rely on large units.)Some units are very strong and others are weaksauce but none is invincible if you have a good composition, artillery or strong archers can demolish an unit right quick so don't push forward your expensive ones first. The units look like a mix between medieval total war and totally accurate battle simulator so it's a hit or miss, animations are decent even for large units. The AI is not completely retarded but it's still simple and you can lead it around if you know it's quirks. The worst thing to me is the army limit capped at 10, though that might change in the future.
God I hate those SYNTY aesthetics so much.
>>2427852it being roguelite kills all interest
>>2427852Looks like a total war clone but without campaign map and instead of battle campaigns? Looks decent even if I like realistic graphics more.
>>2429347Good summary, seconding Very fun and comfy game, you'll get 10 hours of solid enjoyment out of it with the current content.Feel bad for pirating it now, given it's a solid project by a 1 man dev who had a great roadmap planned for it (no DLC!)A good starting out tip: focus on ranged infantry. When combined with a few good items, they crumble AI builds.Main benefit of them over artillery is that they don't inflict damage on your own units, so you can keep them firing from your second line once the melee battle beginsAlso goblins are shit (realistic)
>>2427852I found it to be a very mediocre roguelike TW clone. I think Master of Command is better at this.
>>2431410Thanks, Also I noticed that among starting units the elven ones are clearly superior to everyone else, shielded spearmen can go a long way and their archers are deadly. I don't care for forest spirits though, besides that they look like rock golems instead of dryads.>>2429347To expand on this it kind of reminds me about total war arena where your starting units got some veterancy upgrade but still ended up being useless in the end. Some direct upgrade into a higher rarity unit instead of being stuck as the same type through the run might be better than being forced to phase them out.(Though given the daily rate of re-balancing updates I feel like most of this might end up being addressed within a month or two?)
>>2427852I just got it myself. I agree with many here, worth the price tag. I'm having good fun with it.
