>2 artillery simulators in the developmentHot topic?https://store.steampowered.com/app/2956040/PVKK_Planetenverteidigungskanonenkommandant/
>>2429396looking good https://youtu.be/qXmf8ghU8-A
Where are they all? Dust Front is very good but I need more . . .
>>2429604There's that one slav dev game about traveling with an ancient greek army and it's in a way an auto battler real time strategy with ship mechanics and it has cozy graphics but I forgot the title
>>2429377>iron nest is pretty good, you walk around in an artillery platform, receive orders and have to aim the massive thingIdk the gameplay is fun for a bit but I can't see it carrying very far. The core loop is just find heading+distance > data entry > load > turn wheels > fire, you've reached the skill ceiling there after 30 minutes or so. I really don't see how you could expand on that. Different shell types? Doesn't matter, they all load the same. Time pressure? uuuuuh red light and dramatic music.
>>2430043If I were to guess you need to get multiple shots on target while on a timer and things break
>>2430067Sure, but that's just the time pressure element and that's a bit eeeeeh.Thinking back to Silent Hunter, torpedo runs are always the same steps and calculations as well, but it's engaging because you've got the navigation and positioning layer on top and it's all your own retarded decisions causing you additional stress. This game would really need a strategy layer of some sort, dynamic battles on the map where you have some influence in shaping the action by eg blowing up bridges, or some other actual decision-making to feed down into the procedure simulator bit of it. There's no hint of that in the demo, it's just draw line to red symbol and feed numbers into calculator.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4601050/County_of_Fortune_Demo/The Nebuchadnezzar devs put this out. It is okay. Kind of a stupid name though. I think the devs are czech
>>2430094Relationship mini game where you need to text girls while you play. If you don't get married by the end of the story you lose. Plot twist: a couple of girls are enemy spies.
Here's what I've played so far in term of strategy games:https://store.steampowered.com/app/3010280/Powerplay/Pretty fun and solid looking rts, although the AI is too weak to early rushes and one might say the game is too derivative from C&Chttps://store.steampowered.com/app/4158610/TFC2_The_Fertile_Crescent_2__Collapse_of_The_Bronze_Age/Sequel to TFC. The original game was neat but rather basic rts so I'm glad they're making a sequel to expand on it. The demo however is pretty short and lack skirmish. Still looking forward to it.https://store.steampowered.com/app/2219390/Imperial_Ambitions/The only turn based strategy from the list. 4X game set in early colonial era. The focus appears to be on managing supplies production and population. Still need to get a hang on it but it seems interesting.
>>2430008this one. looks promisinghttps://youtu.be/CUUGQvPreQY
>>2430310Been watching Imperial Ambitions for a while now, since it's clearly inspired by Imperialism II which I wish more games took cues from. It was in a pretty early rough state when I playtested it a year or two ago though, clearly needed a ton more work on UI and tooltips to be able figure out how all the systems actually worked.>>2430510kino
>>2430310I tried imp ambitions last next fest and it was super bare bones and clunky. I didn't see anything on their page that looked improved unfortunately.
>>2430149Could be better explained. While YouTubers are never going to actually read it. I’ve seen several just miss the instructions about how construction points, trade and specialisations work.
>>2430149This game seems to take its trade web system from Star Ruler 2 or maybe Let Them Trade and runs away with it which was pretty unexpected from me
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4278590/Civica_Italian_Renaissance/Scammer Lords clone (if your computer can run it)
>>2430809I tired it. I got lags in the main menu. But bigger outrageous thing for me is that there's no graphic settings. Like who the fuck don't put graphic settings in their pc game?
>>2430809love the setting but I can tell by the pics its an asset slop
>>2430953if they're assets that you've never seen before, do you really care?
>>2429420McPixel (that one lolrandom funny proto-indie game) dev cried on Twitter about Iron Nest stealing his buddy's ideas or something before quickly deleting his post.
>>2429494Is it better than 3
https://store.steampowered.com/app/3945720/Tribal_Trouble_Resurrected/Interesting artifact of a game, but archaic, primitive and boring to play. Why even bother reviving it?
had fun with dread admiral. didnt really get combat till my second skirmish.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4693080/The_Guild__Europa_1410_Demo/Guild 1410 demo, it's getting shit on because it's not Guild 2 despite the devs saying it was going to be more like the first one. It's okay-ish
>>2430988>is it better than a pile of steaming shit?
>>2431134What are they angry about?t.haven't played guild 1
>>2431144Guild 1 is more business focused and you don't directly move your character on the map you basically switch between workplace, home, town hall interfaces
>>2431144>>2431152Also it had less realism. You could make zombies work in the graveyard.
>>2431152I see. Imho remaking Guild 1/2 is a dead end
why are there so many idle/incremental games in this nextfest? is everyone trying to make the next megabonk?
saw zerospace had a demo out, clicked on it, then checked back a couple of minutes later to play it, saw it was still downloading. turns out it's 49 gigabytes, what the fuck? that's gotta be the whole game right? or at least the whole alpha build? i was hoping for a polished demo to show the mechanics, i don't want to waste my time on fighting some buggy early build shit.
>>2431314>49 gigabytesfinally. zerospace
>>2431389heh
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4218380/Wall_World_Strategy_Demo/A new game from the series (I never played any of these) that happens to be a strategy game this time, like a colony builder with tower defense and mining and choices and whatever. Surprisingly works on my shit-tier laptop.
>>2431276nodebuster sold like hotcakes and it's been two years now that every solo dev hack is trying to cash in on its simple formula
>>2430043>>2429420another similar game, but about a tankhttps://store.steampowered.com/app/4087530/Breaking_Armor/And this one is a mechhttps://store.steampowered.com/app/4089140/Engine_Of_Sin/
>>2432931These two look like they would be much better as coop games, specially the not!Warhammer one
https://store.steampowered.com/app/3374640/Crown_Of_Hispania/Crusader Kings clone set during Reconquista. I hope it will be good because I really like the setting but right now it feels like they released the demo too soon. It is pretty undercook and buggy. It doesn't even have a tutorial. Still will follow it.
>>2430310>powerplayno... not another cc--like game>tfc2ugly pixel art, i hope they change it>imperial ambitionswishlist
Dig inrimworld but ww1
it was nothing special
>>2433298I don't like how reditty and unserious that store page description is
>>2433844It's alright, hope they get rid of motion blur and fix up the U.I, had a hard time playing ecause od the blue
>>2430809Its completely non functional.
>>2433844Just tried this. It's got potential but the current state is so rough they would've been better off not releasing a demo until the game is closer to completion. It's slow as fuck, the UI and UX are trash, and the tutorial literally only covers how to move the camera. Releasing a demo in this state is going to scare away more people than it attracts.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4338170/Feed_the_Scorchpot_Demo/Balatrofied Catan with medieval aesthetics, mite be cool.
