do you like this franchise? I heard Rebellion is good
>>2433256Rebellion is good, sins2 isn't
Trinity has been sitting on my library for more than a decade now. I should give it a go one of these days. Do I miss out on much if I don't have Rebellion?
>>2433864Fuck me does this game have no campaign
Does it mog empire at war
>>2434046No.
>>2434046Yes
>>2434046Perhaps
>>2434049>>2434419>>2434490Big if true
I like Sins 2. Its pretty much just Sins Rebellion but newer/extra stuff. Not sure how much I really care for the DLCs, I bought the one that added in the new ships but not the scenarios. I still tend to find the AI lacking though its gotten better since launch.Glad they are working on the UI finally.I wish more of the modding scene came over for sure though.
>>2433256I like Sins 1. Waiting for Sins 2 to be some level of complete before I get it or even pirate it.
>>2433256I keep trying Sins 2 and I just don't like it. Unfortunately I've played Sins 1 to death though.
>>2433256Its okish.Really makes you wish for a different game with more depth.
>>2434526I'm annoyed by the fact that we had to wait 2 years for feature who were present in the first game.Still no campaign 2 years after launch.Planetary orbit is barely used did to the way solar systems are created. I wish they would allow us to create more realistic star system in the editor instead of having to follow imposed rule for muh balance.
>>2434046no, in empire you can still have multiple fleets without gimping yourself and you don't need to stick with one giant blob because of gay as fuck superunits and superbases.
>>2433875Unfortunately not. That's always been one thing that I wish they'd add.
>>2442216Sins 2 will get a campaign, Times of War. Sadly it's gonna be an expansion.
Vasari OPTake that fotm faggots.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PUluYwunA4
>>2433256Worth it just for the startrek modSins 2 will be worth it when the startrek mod gets more developed.
>>2446785>startrekplease go back to /tv/ and stay there
I'm playing an old version I know, but my capitals aren't regenerating Antimatter, any workaround?
Any other games that let me fight space battles as aliens? And no dont say stellaris, that shit was a menu simulator.
>>2452271x4
>>2452273I dont want a map simulator either
What makes 1 better than 2? I tried 2 and it felt soulless, even though it's almost the same game as 1.
>>2454226Jaded Nostalgiafaggotry>>2452271Sword of the Stars 1, old but the only real time battles I can immediately think of. Galvciv 2 or newer if you are okay with 4x.
>>2454226>sins 2 lacking soulit's the voice direction and visual presentation, topped off by some AI art. a lot of the sins 2 unit barks are a lot more generic-feeling, while I get a sense for the units themselves as characters (harcka etc) I don't get a feel for the faction. the whole game is spent staring at the map but there's very little character to the map screen, it's just a window with menus to watch planets and fleets move around. what little artistic space is available in sins 2 to convey characterization to the player was, until very recently, mostly generic AI art. compare tech tree icons between sins 1 and sins 2.
>>2454226Sins Rebellion is a finished release has many finished conversion mods. Sins 2 is a unfinished game still a work in progress disguised as a full release. Not that many conversion mods, but the mod support is much more modular, it's actually better in 2. Some would say that it needs steam workshop because its easier for them because of their mental handicap. Sins 2 has a few good stuff that makes it better than 1. The planetary and capital ship management is so much better in 2. The functioning turrets on the ships are also very nice to see. The orbital planets are also neat for gameplay. Sins 2 may look inferior from the outside, but it's shaping up to be better than 1 and it's worth playing.
>$50
>He's too poor to afford a $50 game!
Ankylon with the weapon artifact is just really good, a disco ball of death.
>>2434046Empire at War more like Empire AI doesn't know how to War.
>>2459822Activate the goonjuice
I'm just waiting for the big campaign that will have the fourth faction that can somehow BTFO the psychic advents, drive the vasari mad and make everything impossible to know about for the tec.
>>2460548I'm actually kinda nervous about the new faction. It was one of those things that should have been in the background, now it needs to be nerfed in some way because otherwise the original lore of it oneshotting the Vasari doesn't make sense.
>>2460549It's probably just the beast from homeworld.
>>2460549>otherwise the original lore of it oneshotting the Vasari doesn't make sense.Do you remember in command and conquer the scrin showed up and the end of the campaign revealed the army that almost destroyed earth was just a mining fleet that didn't expect any resistance? It's easy to do it. Hopefully it will be unique and their gameplay will be playing a vanguard that slowly summons in more ships at an increasing rate.
>>2459948Gottem'
the final transmission thingy for the fourth faction.
Pricey dlc. I regret not buying the premium edition now.
>>2446785The Star Trek mod is mid. Also I don't want to hear the autistic British dev re-record all the lines for the Cardassians it's cringe as fuck.
>>2433256are any of the DLCs worth it? Ironclad refuses to actually bundle them despite all of them being out for over a decade
There's so many tech to keep track off, they should have made power up item techs and normal techs into their separate tech trees.
>>2442216wait whatso what do you do? just play custom mode or whatever its called?
the expansion drops on thursday. i'm cautiously optimistic.at long last, after twenty years, the fabled opponents arrive
>>2433256Huh, so the Vasari are actually bro tier. I like how they basically made every rebellion faction a traumatized psycho opposite of each faction.
>>2479482I will buy it and play it. No reason not to. With the AI updates the game should be a in a good spot.
>>2463123From the preview they seemed kinda broken.
>>2480087There is not nearly enough meat in the game to justify full price. No campaign, no story, no characters, not much voice acting, no cinematics, no in depth manual. It still feels rudimentary. Not worth more than 30 bucks even with all released content so far!Only if they added all of the above it would be a truly complete game and worth ~50 bucks.I like the concept of the game, I like the work of Ironclad but Stardock is a greedy POS.
>>2479558Not true, every faction in rebellion had the same opposing sides. One side of each race wanted to form peace and alliance, the other sided of each race wanted war.
>>2480356It's hard to think of what else they could actually rebel over without including cross race factions.
