Top masquerades as a HOMM successor, but tries to get rid of the vast majority of "genre staple" features, including the very fundamental fact, that it is supposed to be a snowball-fest, hence becoming something vastly different and unsatisfying to the supposedly marketed-to player base.
Bottom is a half-baked rehash trying to harken to the glory days of the series, but missing fundamental features due to devs' technical incompetence, and also laser focuses on the most modern and gay aspects of the old player base (the sweaty PvP grogs and fags).
Personally I'd say the bottom is better, if only by a slight margin, and still has more potential, at the very least.

I watched a few competitive PvP matches out of curiousity.
They always play on that tenplate with a fight every week or so and it's always the same.
Cheesing the guarded objects that reward you with resources and items and the stupid Pandorra boxes that never have any downsides. Followd by le breakerino into middle zonerino at 11111324 or whatever. It's the gayest and most autistic shit I've ever seen.

I have to agree with >>2443085 on this one, the art style choices are complete shit, and I'm embarrassed that this game was technically created by my neighbours, who somehow managed to infuse this "sci-fi" HOMM3 knock off with both wokist retardation and an unfunny communist meme race (the molemen).
Not even the robo-mothmen are done justice to their interesting concept and the zerg-Lovecraft-fungus falls flat due to the children's modern pastel colour picture book art style.

I really don't like the name change. Silence of the Siren was a mile better title. Even if they really needed to emphasize the Homm inspiration, they could have gone with Heroes of Science and Space or something different than Fiction.
