>>2444485Might be a silly proposition but this music video always looked to me like an opening cinematic to some rts game and I think the setting presented there would make for a stellar rts.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgxcvmkPD-I
>>2444620always thought the novus and hegemony from universe at war were loosely based on these guys
Setting so perfect for strategy game it pains me to see it will never get a rts spin-off.
>>2444628>hegemonywhoops, apparently they're called the hierarchy. been a while
Helldivers would make for an excellent RTS setting. There are four factions each with distinct aesthetics and playstyles. They have a variety of infantry, vehicles and structures to port over. >Super Earth (Humans) would be a pretty normal RTS faction except for their Helldivers, which would be able to spawn anywhere on the map at any time.>Terminids (Bugs) would be your usual insect swarm sci-fi faction, however they would have a larger emphasis on armor the higher tier they become. They also fuck with the map in a lot of ways, through terraforming and releasing spore clouds that disrupt all scanners.>Automatons (Bots) are probably the most bog standard RTS faction. Their biggest gimmick is they have the strongest defensive forts of the factions. Multi-tiered castles bristling with turrets.>The Illuminate (Squids) are your classic protoss/alien faction. Very mobile, all their bases are just temporarily landed ships with some small defenses. A mix of cheap shitty zombies and expensive elite aliens. There is a large number of different planets and biomes for fun map variety. You could even do asymmetric missions, one player has to defend a location while the other attacks it.
I could come up with quite a few strategy game ideas based around Solatorobo/LTB. I'd prefer an actually good Homeworld successor, though. Or even a competent Homeworld successor. I was working on making something similar about a year and a half ago but I got filtered hard by the vector math it required. I think I could pull it off now, though, might revisit it.

>>2444634Not rts, but there's an elder scrolls mod for CK3 if that scratches your strategy+Tamriel itch.
never heard of a book getting a strategy game without any intervening adaptations before but an total war like based on Earwa would be fucking sick
Rust.
>>2444668Starship Troopers: Terran Command is a decent rts, at least judging from the demo and what I've heard, and it's probably the closes you can get to Super Earth vs Terminds scenario in a rts.
I know they already have Super Robot Wars as a strategy game, but I'd love a Gundam RTS or GSG (or maybe something in between like Total War). The setting really lends itself to a game like that.
>>2446481I believe unfortunately Metal Fatigue is the closest we have to a proper mecha rts.

>>2444485Game of Thrones deserves their own Total War. And yes, I know about the mods.Waterworld, Stalker. Lesser scale but games like this are also cool.Youjo Senki, Girls und Panzer and a few more anime would probably do fine in the field of RTT games. Girls Frontline/Blue Archive deserve a PROPER x-com knockoff. I remember a thread mentioning post-apo colony sims and I think The Last of Us would fit.
