we made it bros..
>>2445035I like how that CG parallels this one.I have to wonder how Pascal felt about the assassin child project given how he was pretty staunchly pacifistic and humanitarian prior to the outbreak of the great war, but I guess having spent years as a homeless bum made him not care about all that. But Misty (and presumably the other children) being a war orphan from the war that took everything from him must've had some effect on him, maybe that's why he let her escape. I think also the kids being given a proper education was again Pascal's humanitarian and scholarly side seeping through even after he's been hired by Vendetta. But maybe I'm just looking too much into it.
Today is Ray's birthday!
Sorry I haven't posted art in a while.

>>2445503That look isn't new btw. That is how Motoko looked like in the original manga, just saying.
>>2445153Scary
How would he fare in Valhalla?Assume he has similar intentions to burn it all down.
>>2446086Narrarively speaking he'd be like white tiger where you spend the entire game becoming strong and facing him at the end. If we are powerscaling isn't movie bane street tier, he'd match up well against the TS setting.
>>2446156I think he would be on the level of Pascal in his capacity to fuck up the City. He has the funding, the men, the training, and the intelligence to cause serious harm. Dude could probably sneak himself into one of those elite meetings and kill everyone there.
I've been using Pascal's protective gear on my Magic Armor/Iron Wall battlemages but every so often I wish I switched (back) to Draki's Perfect Scale when they get fucked by the occasional always crit, unblockable attack, or bonus damaged to exposed target attacks. I hate using DPS since it's such a meta item, but should I switch back? Also I feel dumb that it took me this long to realize that Enough Rest has synergy with battlemages, has anyone ever used it on them?
>>2446279My Counterattack Sion from ages ago uses it, and I regularly run it on Irene.

I wish drones had more abilities, more module options, and less possible module slots.End game drones end up all feeling very samey because there's a significantly fewer modules compared to masteries, and machines can get a fuckton of slots and TP limit so they all end up using a lot of the same modules, like damage absorbing.I wanted to make a drone that was almost purely supportive, but just kinda gave up after seeing that drones have very limited supportive abilities and just a few supportive sets that give minor AoE buffs (which hacker Kylie already gives) and revives (which is actually kinda useful).
can someone post a GS Albus build including gear?
>>2446699I've posted this in threads before, but without equipment. It gets stun, freezing, and bleeding immunity from equipment along with high block from masteries and has Second Wind and Life Drain for lots of healing, which synergizes well with Enough Rest and the bonus from Blade Phantom. The point is just to be nearly unkillable and get a lot of turns from Weapon Blocking + Blade Phantom to make the most use of Sen no Sen. It takes turns so fast it usually doesn't get to activate Sen no Sen though, so I've been considering switching that set out for something that uses Bladestorm.
>>2446699This is my tank Albus from last time you asked to see GS builds. His items aren't especially important. Bleed immunity from the shoes can be replaced with a Demolisher Wristguard if necessary. The sword is just a good sword. The ring has speed and accuracy on it. The seal is to fuck over rangers but can easily be swapped out to any gear, like if you decide you want him to be immune to stuns instead of just autoclearing them on his turn, and you can tell I really gave a fuck about what's in his potion slot.
I don't like thrower mungo :(
>>2446763They are by far the worst type of mungo

>>2446763I won't permit a single mungo to exist in my visual range.
>>2447364Heixing we don't call them that
>>2447345Maybe I should ask Claude...
>>2447420Claude would suck because so much of what makes editing maps complicated is triggers and shit.
>>2447422Oh, I hadn't even begun to consider gameplay yet. I was just thinking of map geometry. Like if you wanted to create something on the same scale as Skywind Park, that's made up of 700 different pieces, 7400 total pieces.
>>2447343aww yissssi can fap to this
>>2447343This should have every mastery, right? Including the second dlc ones.
>>2447548It's missing a lot of Machine sets but I couldn't find any missing sets or masteries from the Human characters
>>2447343For the longest time I wanted to a build planner for beasts and drones so I would know which evolution and reinforcement masteries I need to fit everything on their board before I waste time and resources building them. This is a godsend.Unfortunately it's missing the genetics masteries that are only available through the gene editor, the ones that give +2 slots in a category.
Thoughts on using a build like this for Albus?
>>2447853I've seen similar builds once in a while in PVP but they're never very effective. A few extra % hit/block/damage/cast delay from Sword of Saviour isn't worth giving up slots to Human masteries just to pump it, and Machine Hunter/Beast Hunter are mutually exclusive. He ends up being very squishy and not doing as much damage as someone who pumped Sword Manual and Full Power Slash via class masteries.
>>2447853PVP is probably the worst use of a build like that though, hardly any beast, legendary, and machine enemies to actually make use of 3/4 of the masteries in the Greedy Hunter set. I'm not going to bother trying it out myself but it's probably not bad for story missions and violent cases.
Troublescholars answer me, is Albus actually friends with anyone in his office or are they all pawns for REVENGEbus to discard in his pursuit for the truth?
>>2448569Everyone is just a pawn to Albus
>>2448569I think that there was a scene where Albus started taking notes about his coworkers and showed interest in their personalities, but I didn't take a screenshot of it.
>>2448569Yes.
>>2448576I really like how Sion being a lazy whiner is shown as both a positive and a negative in the game. He bitches and moans, but he's also the only one willing to speak up when Albus actually is overworking his team.
>>2448569>Troublescholars answer me, is Albus actually friends with anyone in his office or are they all pawns for REVENGEbus to discard in his pursuit for the truth?I don't know that he's actually friends with anyone, but he does seem to appreciate Sion as someone his age whose seen the same challenges as the company grows as he has. But I think the lack of friendship isn't because everyone is just a pawn to the ultimate amoral Machiavellian mind of Albus, but rather because a) he's the damn boss and b) he has genuine social development issues what with being orphaned and then put into the custody of an adult who never had direct contact with him for 8 years. (Seriously, he was orphaned at 10, did he at least have a nanny looking after him at first or something?)
>>2448761>he has genuine social development issueswow, he's just like me
>>2448569i suspect he's friends with Alisamostly he treats the team as employees rather than friends, even the ones he doesn't payhe gets along pretty well with Isaac too
>>2448569My albus has a revered bond with Giselle and Anne and Irene. So that means they are all his girlfriends.
>>2448788Even when he has a crush he's giving out unpaid overtime
>>2448761>genuine social development issues what with being orphaned and then put into the custody of an adult who never had direct contact with him for 8 yearsTruly the Evangelion of anime.
>>2448546Greedy Hunter is one thing, but the main reason why it sucks is because Sword of Saviour isn't enabling anything new in your build.Thousand Cuts already gives +1% accuracy per swordsman/GS masteryFull Power Slash already gives +1% damage per swordsman/GS masterySword of Heart already gives +1% block per swordsman/GS masteryand Battojutsu gives 3% cast delay reduction per swordsman/GS mastery. All you get from Sword of Saviour is that your Human masteries also count towards those totals, so by trying to minmax it that way you're getting identical (worse in Battojutsu's case) bonuses compared to stacking class masteries, but without the actual effects of those class masteries. It's best used to squeeze a little bit of extra juice out of Keyboard Warrior or whatever Human masteries your build actually requires.
What would be better here, Will to Fight for the crit chance and crit damage, or Muscle Training for the raw attack power?I'm assuming someone has done the math for this kind of thing.
>>2449475Neither. Replacing Catharsis with Zeroing gives the same benefit as Will to Fight, and activates "Field Strip and Cleaning" for additional attack scaling, which will act as a mini-Muscle Training. You can then run Quick Grasp of the Situation for more frequent turns. It will also allow you to drop Politely Decline for something. In addition, unless your Giselle is very slow, or you really want the extra move, Gun Lightening probably isn't doing much. You're already getting -40 at on kill (maybe more if the sniper sets also give some, I'm just looking at Positioning and You're Already Dead) so for her basic attack, you hit minimum AT at 62 speed. As for the math, I'll let a more qualified anon answer that one.
>six beasts from Abandoned ChildrenDoes this mean there will be no Drakis in BC?
>>2449475Muscle Training is usually better. On my own Giselle it's the difference between 1251 and 1551 attack power, a 23% difference in base damage, while Will To Fight only makes her go from +223% to +248% critical damage, an unintuitive 7% increase in total damage
>>2449535Not him, but the main reason to take Gun Lightening is for the movement rather than the +10 speed. Sniper especially likes to have a little bit of extra movement to get into position better and stop from falling behind as much. On some maps it's not an issue, but on any map where you'll want to be crossing distances it makes a huge difference.
>>2449535This was originally a Positioning-focused build but I decided to fit in Catharsis after I kept getting AP restores from Shadow in the Dark and Sniping, so now it's supposed to be a chain kill build (chain killing it bitch nigga shit, I know). It chain-killed like half the map on 58v since only like one mungo has Impulse Fields and the tall buildings make it easy to abuse line of sight for the sniper AP gain. I wanted to use both the Field Strip and Cleaning set along with Catharsis, but obviously I reached the slot and TP limit. Although actually I can take out So Close Yet So Far to get Field Strip and Cleaning, since You're Already Dead gives me all the reduction I need to get 36 AT turns after chain-killing a few mungos.I'm just using Gun Lightening mostly just because I don't know what else to put in that slot, I was maybe thinking Pouring Spirit for the SP gain but it's not like Giselle has any problem reaching overcharge, and the bonus movement helps with the chain killing.>>2449686Yeah I realized shortly after making that post that the +300 attack power probably does a lot more with multiplicative scaling from other damage bonuses than the measly extra crit damage does.
>>2449756just realized I could take out Politely Decline from this build too, and replace it with some other bitch nigga mastery like Second Heart
>>2449566>Does this mean there will be no Drakis in BC?There's an area called "Dragon's Sanctuary" on the concept map they released

>>2445054Pascal is very clear if you read his final dialogues that he regrets everything he did and hates what he became. He specifically says to Heixing that "you've accepted it, if only I could have done what you have done, I wouldn't have lost everything", it being his death. He realizes that he would've been better off dying on the streets still the man of high ideals he once was than turning into the monster who betrayed everything he once stood for and did far, far more horrific things than simply becoming a weapons tech for a nation at war. Now what Pascal did with that regret and what he was really up to is still up in the air, and given how sketchy the development of the next game is looking, we may never find out, but he definitely didn't end his life happy with how had lived it.

The easiest way for Troubleshooter's 2 to be an absolute slam dunk of a sequel is for it to make these 2 changes.1. Fewer enemies that are tougher. AC has a horde problem which makes White Knight suck ass in regular gameplay.2. Better map design. Specifically playing with verticality and going out of the way to make map entrances change how the mission plays.
Sion is so freaking HOT. Do you think girls anne\irene age keeps photos of him under the bed and pratice kissing with those?
>>2456387?????White Knight is great in regular gameplay. It's not Barbarian broken, but it's still up there and designed specifically to fuck the Drifter Clowns. Does pretty well against Mungos too.
It's sad to see the state of this thread, there used to be actual gameplay and build discussion, but that's been wrung dry and now everyone is just waiting for the announcement that Dandylion is closing the studio so they can finally accept the grim reality, and in the meantime nothing is posted here aside from the degenerate ramblings of pornography addicted reprobates.
>>2457138I was a frequent poster in previous threads but I've been pretty burnt out on Troubleshooter recently so I haven't been posting much about builds and gameplay. When I'm in the mood to play again I'll start posting stuff. The complete absence of news on the sequel has also killed some of my interest.
>>2457138>crying about the "state of the threads" this soon

>>2455448Another borger request. Rey doing pic related but heixing (annoyed) keeps a plate under it so it catches everything falling down from the borger.
>>2457138I've been posting way less in general and will probably never buildpost again because the quality of discussion has turned into>hurr White Knight sucks>hurr Superstar sucks>hurr Martial Artist sucks (???)>hurr Common masteries suck>hurr why use Sweeper when Ranger shoot moreIt's clear almost nobody here actually gives a fuck about builds and just sticks to their preconceived notions from the time they stuck all the class masteries on everyone like an absolute noob. We've got people with 110 hours telling people with 4000 hours that they know the game better than them and excusing "well pvp is different", as if those players don't farm every map in the game on HRHR Cruel/Challenge. This thread is absolute shithouse these days and you retards have brought its deadness upon yourselves.
>>2458050Can you remake this post but without crying?
>>2458050>people disagree with me and this makes me very upset because I am always right even if and especially when I have no actual arguments to presentYou will not be missed.
>>2458050Last time someone asked for Sweeper builds I think 3 different people posted builds (myself included) with brief comments on how to play it and use it. I guess you disagreed with the builds or something? I thought that discussion was pretty good so if you didn't involve yourself in it because of that, you should keep that up.
>>2458050you are letting like 1 or 2 retarded and/or shitposting posters ruin your experience of the thread
>>2458050Ah yes, elitism in the easy gook grindan gaem, just what we need.>notions from the time they stuck all the class masteries on everyone Because that works and let you clear the game in HRHR Cruel/Challenge, duh.>but its not optimal, you're having fun in the wrong way!Shut up, sperg.
>>2458090Having played with all the difficulty modifiers on other than Limit Break, which I did a playthrough of that too but it was much easier, I never see any boards posted here where I scoff and think "that'd only work on a lower difficulty" when people ask for advice.
>>2458050build meta is pretty much worked out by now, so most buildposting is the uninteresting task of spoonfeeding noobsif people come up with an interesting build it gets discussion, like wind grenade SMS Kylie a couple threads ago>complaining about noise-to-signal ratio on an anonymous imageboardHaha...
I've been trying to make an information SP flamer drone focused around punishment and responsive fire and from some tests the concept works pretty well, but I don't know what to complete the build with or even what OS and reinforcement modules to use. The drone isn't fully leveled yet, it's at level 53, so there's still room for more total TP to complete the build. If I had one more AI property limit then I could complete the support module optimization set which would in turn allow me to complete improved automatic re-attack for the re-attack on punishment and responsive fire.Obviously I'm going to put damage absorbing and maybe ESP neutralizing armor in the reinforcement slots, for now I was just leaving them empty to make sure everything else fit in TP-wise when leveling.None of the OS options themselves directly benefit the drone much, since it's focused around responsive attacks and tends to get its turn delayed a lot so stuff like reduced cast delay or fuel consumption don't really do anything, so it just comes down to whichever reinforcement/control modules are available to each OS type, and I still don't really know which ones to choose other than fuel control which is available to all OS types.Hoping someone who understands drone building much better than I do can tell me which of these are the best pick.
>>2458103>build meta is pretty much worked out by now, so most buildposting is the uninteresting task of spoonfeeding noobsIt's also a preference thing. Troubleshooter gives you a lot of variety on the ways you can accomplish surviving or killing, and at the end of the day you don't even need fancy tools to win, just stats and positioning can get you through too. Also, not everybody needs to cover every scenario, which allows for people to specialize into countering more specific ones. All factors that contribute towards making it difficult to even assess what a best build would be. So when people ask for advice they'll probably get a generally functional board that works across the game in most situations rather than something designed to abuse a specific gimmick.
>>2457138It's just a byproduct of no news. There's only so much discussion you can have if nothing changes. Personally I just like the fact some anons took initivie and started artfagging. I'd be nice if they posted their work as well, also dandylion reads steam dms so you can send them fanart and words of encouragment if you want.

Too lazy to compare all the masteries and sets right now, but I'm certain that ranger gets more crit damage which is probably going to scale better. Sweeper probably has more total damage output with stuff like Sweeping Fire spam over relying on responsive attacks.

>>2460712The grind exists but its entirely avoidable. It mainly comes in 3 flavors: chasing god roll rng drops, crafting, and taming/robots. Otherwise its a really good SRPG that goes on sale for 7$.
>>2460712People always overstate how grindy it is. It's like>I want to complete the gameNo grind at all, completing every available mission will overlevel you>I want 100% achievementsSome minor grinds, on the order of a few hours for some of the achievements>I want every masteryYou're looking at quite a lot of levelling and taming grind. It's not THAT bad imo, but you're still looking at maybe 50 hours ballpark, can be much less with optimisation>I want perfect itemsNot-gonna-happen tier grindan, but you can finish the game with pretty shitty items. Unlike most RPGs, items make up less and less of your build's power as the game progresses.
>>2460712I will never understand the accusation of the game being "grindy". You can beat the game just fine without grinding. All the grind is entirely self-imposed, whether you see an item you want on an enemy or a specific mastery.
>>2460712I think when some people say the game has "grind" what they really mean is the game is very long and requires attention for long periods. It's a really long game.
>>2460729Probably also people who don't realise you can craft beast bones, psi stones and machine parts for those quests in the town and try to farm the drops straight from the bosses, likely without even using drop-boosting masteries.
>>2460712You still haven't bought it? Grind isn't an issue unless you somehow have a fey curse level of generational bad luck when it comes to mastery drops.
>>2460712The devs released an update earlier this year that actually cut down the required grinding for certain things quite a bit. You only need like 40% the amount of enemy information points to get all their info (and thus unlock all their masteries) as you used to. That's a godsend for unlocking machine modules, as the only get to get some of them is by getting 100% info on machine enemies.
News soon btw (although that was probably obvious with the new song releases)>This year's new game development progress update is time to be released (?)>We're preparing, aiming to launch it this week! We'll give it our all! :Sion:
>>2460775>We're preparing, aiming to launch it this week! We'll give it our all! :Sion:doubt.jpg
>>2460775At this point I'll consider it a miracle if they actually manage to get the game out the door before studio closure.
>>2461948>According to the Spoonage...>The one who can eat is only the hungry one.
>>2461963You jest but i actually found the spoonerism really well done. Is the kind of fucked up cult but extremely grounded without strange gurus, drugs or mystical shit.
>>2462059It found it very realistic to messianic/millenarian cults in history that doubled as violent gangs or crime families, basically just a bunch of hopeless young men who want to eat and have a future, a government that doesn't leave them any other options.
What's the best way to get a kinda-squishy unit down to final resistance range? I was thinking friendly-fire bleed/poison with Anne on standby, but I would kinda like the unit to have bleed and poison immunity.
>>2462431Power Control + Rampage Alisa
>>2462431Ray alchemist using her self explosion effect for a flat 900ish damage.
>>2462431Grenadier Ray with upgraded frag grenades + Trained Attack + some weaker grenades in the back pocket. You can tune the damage by adding or removing extra class masteries.

>>2464125Anne and Silver?
>>2464125It seems like Yuri is fire ESP, I don't think anyone expected that
>>2464129and Faye is earth ESP?
>>2464125holy fucking sex
>>2464125I'm glad they pretty much confirmed now that characters from the first game will be returningthat means there's a good chance I get more Anne and Irene
>>2464125Not a fan of the new ui
2bh I don't really like some of the new art, I get that it's WIP and maybe just something drawn for the news update specifically, but the weird potato blob kids just look weird compared to the other art. Dandy's artist could draw normal-looking kids in Abandoned Children, so it's just a strange artstyle change. and I think I'm going to kinda miss the urban/punk aesthetic from Abandoned Children. I'm glad Carter, Turk, and Na-am are keeping it, though. The fantasy aesthetic feels a bit uninspired.>>2464136same. looks like EU5 UI. Hopefully day 1 modding support will let us change it
>>2464140Its diet tumblr x how to train your dragon and Im not a fan either. Its too much of a departure from the previous game's general vibes and is weird as fuck that some fantasy land is in Valhalla's backyard.
>>2464135>I'm glad they pretty much confirmed now that characters from the first game will be returningDANDYLION BRING BACK MISTY AND MY WALLET IS YOURS!!!
>>2464136It looks almost exactly like Baldur's Gate 3 UI rumao
The repositioning abilities seem fun though. I hope they keep forestallment to work like it did in the first game, where knocking back or pulling forwards an enemy into an ally's forestallment range will activate it.>>2464135This shouldn't be too much of a surprise to anyone who was paying attention to the story of the DLCs in the first game and the news updates. The expedition Giselle was talking about is supposed to go to the Kalter mountains, and several of the playable characters (Tyra, Yuri, maybe Ari) have connections to characters that appeared in AC.I think Albus is the only AC playable character that doesn't have a good chance of making any appearance in BC.>>2464144The actual gameplay footage itself looks better than the art which gives me some hope>>2464149grim desu
>>2464125This art is really cute
>Unaffected races: Undeadhuh?
>>2464125toasterbros, i don't feel so good...>>2464130i'd guessed earth Faye from the vines and leaves on her clothes, fire Yuri is a surprise>>2464157how is Ari so pretty aaa>>2464166there is that one clown battlemage with a necromancer's bracelet and shaman has some spooky masteries, undead aren't a big surprise
News update looks cool, I think the demo is a good call on dandylion's end. As long as the girls are cute and the game is fun I think banished children will be good.
>switch to UE5>go straight into dev hellLmao that engine is cursed
>>2464151>I think Albus is the only AC playable character that doesn't have a good chance of making any appearance in BCYou can throw Ray into that pile. Pretty sure they're 100% done with her story
Heard the news.>Already showing the news skills they got aroundExcellent. I imagine the demo might get delayed though.>>2464125Oh man that Yuri theme is a banger.
>>2464125>sections 1 and 6>developing a demo and updating it because they feel insecureMan, they sound so demoralized and I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if development gets shut down in the future due to funds getting all used. Also I'm surprised it has been 9 months. I'm pretty disappointed by this news and my excitement went to near 0. Now it's up to the demo to maybe inject some hopium into my veins, but I'm definitely not counting on that. Also they talk about taking inspiration from other games then goes to show the most basic bitch skills possible. Even a force field instead of fire would be cool, denying enemy pathing.
>>2464132The older woman in that picture might be one of the witches. She's giving me Bianca vibes too.
It's blue-haired Anne!
I thought Gravis was Fire because of his tattoos.
Happy birthday to the hero Irene! and me
>>2464303Happy birthday Irene and anon!
Hmmm...
>>2464310either they're copying bg3 or the ui itself is actually an asset avaible in unreal marketplace
>>2464314Larian uses their own in-house game engine IIRC, but I could see Unreal asset makers just ripping off their UI.Another theory, a bunch of CRPG fags checked out Troubleshooter because Steam's tagging system grouped the game with stuff like BG3/Divinity and the game has really high ratings on RPG Codex. They were probably the ones leaving much of the negative feedback and complaints on the game since they were probably expecting a more traditional RPG experience instead of a tactics-oriented game a la XCOM.While Banished Children has probably been in the conceptual and planning stages for several years prior to full-time development, I suspect this audience is heavily affecting some of Dandylion's design decisions for the game which might explain the shameless copying of BG3's UI, as analytics from Steam probably showed that a bunch of people were checking out Troubleshooter because the game was considered "similar" to CRPGs, and the market for CRPGs is much larger than the market for TRPG autism.
>>2464303happy birthday red panda-chan and manlet anon>>2464281AC was 4-5 years from playable demos to release, relax. if we get a public playable BC demo this year i'm happy~ish

Man i hope i can run it. I had no problem with troubleshooter but ue sloppa always makes me anxious. I can't live without a new game.
>>2464310Such a downgrade for no reason. Being able to click or hover or whatever to see the different terms will be an improvement, but it's laid out way worse
I like that information displayed in a clearer manner in the new UI but it feels too "fantasy RPG"-esque in aesthetic
>>2464310>>2464314>>2464434Dandi just responded even though it's a weekend
>>2464440If there's one thing I really appreciate about Dandylion compared to otehr devs is how open and honest they are in their communication.
>>2464440i love this guy so much it is unreal
>>2464440>baldurs gate as inspirationnever played it so idk if this is a red flag or not.
>Claudia is Ice ESPwhat
>>2464458That throws my theory of Hannah being an ice Barbarian out the window. I guess they could double up types, but with Yuri confirmed Fire and Faye being Earth, there's no hint of a lightning user.
>>2464458whaaaat?Isn't she a shaman/witch? I guess they're getting rid of the ESP type restrictions on those classes. I wonder if she'll have frozen blood. Also, oh boy, I bet there's going to be enemy witch with Vindictive Spirit + Phoenix
>>2464458>ice castershe will be shit...
>>2464461>there's no hint of a lightning userReed seems like he could be lightning ESPHis classes are thief -> rogue/trickster, and the trickster class in Abandoned Children was an unused tier 3 class that was black mage + rogue, so the trickster class here is probably elementalist + thief. Plus a lot of lightning masteries would synergize well with thief masteries; lots of speed, dodge, and crit damage.I thought Gravis would be the ice user among the team, but ice barbarian would probably be broken combination and I think Dandylion wants to give all ESP team members access to elementalist/shaman masteries. So Gravis is probably a spirit White Knight/Barbarian, even though we already have one of those in AC, and there's already another spirit WK on the team (Ryo).Hannah was my pick for earth ESP too and I was hoping a tank like her would be able to make use of the earth masteries that Anne couldn't use well, but I wouldn't mind Faye being an earth Martial Artist/Battlemage.and personally I was hoping Ari would be spirit, having an ESP hunter seems kinda weird since hunters in AC have access to traps and beast summons for multiple types of ESP damage. The lack of class variety so far is something I really don't like either. There's no one who can summon drones (or other machines) so far along with no thrower or confirmed superstar so a lot of more unique classes probably won't be making an appearance. Hopefully Hannah/Gravis/Ryo being able to equip multiple weapon types will have significant gameplay ramifications.>>2464471She'll probably be a healer too so if offensive ice magic doesn't work out, you could just use her as a healbot.
>>2464456Depends on what other parts (if any) they copied, but honestly I don't think it's such a bad thing. There are definitely parts of BG3 that were done really well, and Dandylion doesn't strike me as the kind of studio that would try to ape BG3's extremely "millennial" writing which was its worst aspect IMO. Even the copied UI elements aren't outright bad, it's just that by copying them too closely they're eroding the game's own identity.Everyone who's played BG3 is immediately going to recognize that UI style and that's a bigger issue than whether the style itself is good or not.
You guys think a custom stage builder will be available in ts:bc?
files.catbox.moe/9iti8a.pngHere's a lil drawing to celebrate. I'm on vacation so I can't really draw anything up to standard. Can't wait for the demo.
>>2464532Thank you Ramjist
Remind me because it has been a long time. For what ungodly reason they decided to switch to one of the most shitty and nightmarish engine to work with?
>>2464484>Reed seems like he could be lightning ESP
>>2464565Old one bad graphics, new one good graphics, plus they expected the documentation or whatever make things smooth, alas... And no, stop with the cope, the graphics would be utterly dogshit for a 2030 game. They needed to migrate to something else.
>>2464578Years of development hell for muh graphics. Honestly, it isn't worth the trade.
>>2464565Probably because nobody knows what a ogre engine is and it's easier to find new developers versed in Unreal Engine.
>>2464565>switch to one of the most shitty and nightmarish engine to work with? They're switching FROM one of the most shitty and nightmarish engine to work with, to one of the most well-supported engines available which mostly got its bad reputation from angry gaymers who don't know what they're talking about.Unreal is far from perfect, but just about anything's a step up from fucking Ogre.
>>2464580is it really "development hell"? Yeah dandy has framed it in a bad way sometimes but in 2024 they were merely in pre-production. 2 years later we'll have a demo. This seems like relatively fast development. Even indie games don't get made that fast these days. Abandoned Children took 5 years from EA to Crimson Crow and that was after making and abandoning an MMO version of it...
The pace they made Abandoned Children and how well they've been able to maintain it is pretty impressive for a small team since OGRE isn't even technically a game engine. It's just a 3D rendering engine, or more accurately just a C++ library. They're also using a few other libraries like CEGUI and PopcornFX for UI and particle effects, but they aren't actually using a pre-made game engine, everything involving game logic, networking, and so on had to be implemented by Dandylion themselves and integrated with the rendering libraries they used, so Troubleshooter AC technically runs on an in-house engine.Switching to UE5 isn't a bad idea like some people are making it out to be, but it does feel a bit wasteful after they've spent years developing their own engine. There's a lot more support for UE5 and they won't have to waste time implementing basic game engine functionality, and UE5 is open-source if Dandylion still needs to make changes to the engine itself. The issues they've had with development are probably more related to workflow and just learning the ins-and-outs of Unreal. It'll be quicker in the long run if they stick with UE5.
>>2464458cool :DD:DIce goes nicely with Blood Witch>>2464484maybe they're keeping lightning ESP for a DLC character, like how we had to wait 2 DLCs to get water ESP
>>2464565OGRE is incredibly out of date. I tried giving my hand at modding and even swapping models was pretty much impossible.
>>2464565Ogre engine makes Bethesda engine look like god's given gift, and is also far older than itso no, switching to Unreal is step up whatever direction you slice it
>>2464471 Isn't offensive Ice users are completely bonkers with a bit of crowd control and some fat damage? I assume entire reason why Leton was capped at 40ish casts was specifically ice ESP mastery. >tfw still no ice battle mage
>>2464756They're also ridiculously defensive. Ice SP gives flat damage reduction, by default it's 2 per 1 SP, so a flat 200 reduction at 100 SP. In the early game she's going to be nigh unkillable, and will be able to gigatank with lategame setups.
>>2464756>tfw still no ice battle mage2026.... I am forgotten>>2464768I'm gonna run Final Resistance (if it exists in Banished Children) on Clauda in memory of the realest Spoon nigga
>>2464768doesnt flat armor fall off big time lategame?
>>2464782No, it works in tandem with %damage reduction and armour to make it really fucking hard to damage you at all. I have a Leton build on one of the servers with 450 SP + 2x ice SP effect + Argonaut and he's almost unkillable.
>>2464166What if the reason they haven't shown off a party member that can summon Machines is because one of them who can summon Elemnetals instead?
https://files.catbox.moe/7hab3m.jpgClaudia is cute
>>2464787>No, it works in tandem with %damage reduction and armour to make it really fucking hard to damage you at all.I'm confused what you mean by this. Iirc ice sp gives armor which gives diminishing returns at around 80% dmg reduction. Is the armor from ice sp separate from the total armor calculation?
>>2464756Ice having access to stuns with freeze is OP as fuck in any game especially troubleshooters. Claudia will either be broken or she will have handicaps to prevent her from freezing the entire map if she is a ranged ice user. Or alternatively freezing enemies becomes even harder to pull off with ice masteries.
>>2465042I feel like Freeze is absolutely going to get nerfed as a status effect in Banished Children.
>>2465048>chain effect: if mercury is in retrograde on a waxing moon 25% chance to change cold status to freeze if the enemy is on a water tile (only applies to water tiles with the cold water type)

>>2465237>spirit barbarian/highlander>spirit barbarian/white knight>spirit swordmaster/white knightNot a big fan of the apparent lack of unit varietyHopefully the three melee spirit users have some unique abilities/masteries to differentiate each of them more, and/or spirit and the melee class masteries will be expanded upon to give more build options.I really liked how some spirit characters in the first game had access to elemental damage with the right abilities or items.>>2465239I want them to get rid of unit level factoring into armor calculation, it always seemed a bit pointless to be doing less damage to higher-level enemies when they're also probably going to have better stats.
>>2465245>I want them to get rid of unit level factoring into armor calculation, it always seemed a bit pointless to be doing less damage to higher-level enemies when they're also probably going to have better stats. It doesn't make you do less damage to higher levelled enemies, it makes enemy armour weaker as you level up. It's so that you can have meaningful defence from armour at low levels by going from like 80 to 150 armour without the formula making your % reduction move from 21% to 23%, or the opposite where you have every lategame unit with 98.2% to 99.5% damage reduction and everyone hits for double digits.

>>2465237I can't really say I approve of such heavy spirit focus on the melee units, we'll see how it plays out in the actual game. Maybe there will be enough unique masteries for the characters that they'll still feel different this time around. I really hope they improve personal, unique masteries for the main characters, they were very limited in the first game.
>>2465592Bruh you realize he was pointing at kyle when she was still in the dragons and she was a kid?
>>2465598Why would Kylie join even as a child? She was in a supportive environment with a responsible teacher who genuinely cared about her with peers of her own age to play and learn with, in a nice and comfortable house. Kylie honestly has had the best life of anyone in the game.
>>2464127I am seriously not a fan of this artstyle, compare it to the OP picture of Irene and you can see the massive difference. Irenes a kid too but she doesn't look deformed and out of proportion at all, whereas in the new art, that is no longer the case. Massive downgrade.
>>2465595It bothers me that we're getting two new characters with Barbarian in their class lists - Hannah and Gravis - and they're both fucking Spirit, and Gravis + Ryo are two more Spirit White Knights, just like Alisa. Ryo might be a bit different by being a one-handed sword user, but Gravis is literally just Alisa with axes.

>>2465794In some forum post since then they listed her classes again and it was Barbarian instead of Guardian. Same with Gravis getting White Knight instead of whatever their initial plan for his secondary class was.
>>2465807Oh, I didn't know that. That's a shame.
>>2465777>Ryo might be a bit different by being a one-handed sword user, but Gravis is literally just Alisa with axesRyo will be able to use both one-handed and two-handed swords and Gravis can use both two-handed swords and axes IIRC... so they're both even more similar to each other and AlisaHannah will be able to use one-handed axes and one-handed swords too. I was kinda hoping that Hannah would be ESP and that highlander would be a mixed damage class so she could use magical swords, but it seems like magic swords and the class that uses them won't be making an appearance in Banished Children. It also doesn't seem like we're getting a blunt weapon user outside of Faye who is probably a martial artist, though I'm guessing some other characters will have access to blunt damage, like Hannah will probably have a shield bash ability.
Something else that bugs me about the new characters, is that their colors aren't as striking. They're made up of a lot more neutral colors while the Abandoned Children cast had a lot of stand-out outfits and hair/eye colors. This really helped with visual clarity in gameplay, being able to quickly identify your units, and also I think it illustrates their personalities much better. The more muted designs of the sequel team members correlates lack of class variety, I would say. No high-tech drone user, no spray paint thrower, no superstar dancer.
>>2465858you could probably see Lumi's green lipstick from orbit
>>2465858I forgot Yuri but my point still stands.>>2465864Lumi's alt outfit is definitely an anomaly but since the gameplay they showed only had the characters in their first outfit, I figured that would be what we see most of the time. >>2465858The character designs feel like a downgrade. The old ones were more distinct and striking.
>>2465858I disagree, I like the new ones better (except Lumi's vtuber persona)The limited palettes are reminiscent of character designs in old games where not as many colors could be shown on screen at a time. >>2466885https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Category:Korean_ethnic_slursMost Korean slurs are expectedly targeted towards the Chinese and Japanese, though funnily the first three on that page are for niggers.코쟁이 • (kojaeng'i)양놈 • (yangnom)These both seem to mean "westerner"양귀자 • (yanggwija)흰둥이 • (huindung'i)The first one seems to mean both white or western devil, the second one is white dog, for your specific skin color and racial needs.로스케 • (roseuke)유럽짱깨 • (yureopjjangkkae)Top one is for Russians specifically, bottom one is for the French specifically.백마 • (baengma)This literally translates to "white horse" but is a sexualized term used to refer to white women, I guess even Koreans go "ooga booga where da white wimminz at".
>>2466913>유럽짱깨 • (yureopjjangkkae)>for the French specifically. This one surprised me actually since I didn't know Korea has had enough history with French people to create a slur for them. Reading the definition I thought it was at first their equivalent for "farangi" which is a common word in a lot of oriental languages used to refer to westerners/Europeans/white people in usually a neutral way but sometimes derogatory, which comes from "Franks", as muslims were first reaching Europe in their conquests around the same time the Frankish empire existed, and ended up using it to refer to all western Europeans and the word spread through almost all of Asia via trade.Except this slur literally translates to "Europe Chink", so Koreans are just calling the french the chinks of Europe when they use this term. I want to know how that association came to be.
