AKA GloranthaI have only played King of the Dragon Pass. Haven't finished it, but did some questing and raiding and overall it was very kino. Now that Six Ages is on sale, should I acquire it as well? The first or the second game, or both?
>>2445180>some questing and raidingi thought these were choose your own adventure games, have i been wrong this whole time?
>>2445182It's a text-based strategy game
>>2445188i can't picture this
It's fun to play on my phone
>>2445180It's shorter and has a more set character arc, but it's amusing nonetheless as it was a similar arc to the long game for kodpLights Going Out is possibly some of the most depressing shit I've played except the final arc
>>2445180>Now that Six Ages is on sale, should I acquire it as well? The first or the second game, or bothLights Going Out is excellent and I strongly recommend.I've got some real problems with Ride Like the Wind though. It's not bad, but it kind of rugs you. The game is not about your clan, it's about one specific dude from a story event. If you approach these things as RPGs, that's probably fine, but it is less fine if you appreciate the strategy aspect. That said, you can import data from the first into the second, which is cool. I think the plan was 6 games, each importing to the next. David Dunham does not have that long on planet earth though.
>>2445909>>2445891Thanks for the tips. I am considering getting both since you can import a save. How long would you say does it take to complete?
>>2446747Just as a rough estimate, Ride Like the Wind is about half the long game of KoDP, Lights Going Out's long game something like 80%.How long that takes in standard Terran hours will of course depend on how long it takes to read and make decisions.
Isn't this game like fantasy Oregon Trail
>>2445180Six Ages 2 is arguably as good if not better than the original KoDP. It takes those mechanics and discovers ways to make the most of them. Really challenging too.Six Ages 1 is just fine though. But there's no reason not to play it if you enjoy the other games, it's just more of the same.
>>2445227You don't have to. There's lots of pictures.
Anyone following Thousand Hells, the developer's next game?It looks interesting, but I have some reservations. Non-Glorathan theme, Kitfox in general, pronouns in character sheets, etc. It also looks like it is going to excise the strategy and simulation aspects of the game.I just can't quite get myself to care about it, even though the more replayable design should be something in my wheel house.
>post-KotDP Glorantha game>"Our people are starving" five turns in
>>2447654I won't turn down a good game but I'd be really surprised if this turns out decent.
>>2445180Why the fuck is the second game so much cheaper online and has been for ages now? Did some keys get dumped?
>>2448393>and has been for ages nowHow many ages?
>>2448393Not as good.
>>2448404
What can I use horses for in KoDP
>>2448745Weaponthanes don't work without them.
