dust front is already proving to be a better game than any of this oldsloppa
mental omega
>play a CnC campaign>get nicely into it>find one level that's a bit bullshit/challenging>take a break>come back weeks later>restart the campaignStory of my entire life thatI've only ever completed the Generals/ZH and the Soviet YR campaigns. Why am I like this?

did anyone else here try tempest rising?i think its great and its only ~3 euros on kinguinplays very much like a modern CnC and the campaigns are nice
>>2446869Plays more like Tiberian Dawn if it came out today with controls from 1995 and feel of SC2, still can't believe that Slipgate and 3D Realms successfully scammed RTS fans after continuously scamming boomer shooter fans
why is generals so highly praised when its more clunky than goddamn cnc1
>>2447265 Most of the videos "praising" it are just people saying how intelligent it was for predicting the current political landscape (even though any retard could see china was going to be a superpower by the turn of the century) or musing at the fact that such a game could never be made nowadays. It's probably one of the worst in the series since you can't even discuss it without real life politics being brought up and the balancing is shit
>>2447278I replayed it this year, thr map expansion was really cool and being actually 3D was a big plus. It let you make multiple production building and use them. The slower units made fast movers have an actual role. I like Generals a lot and its not my favorite.
>>2447296the only thing i think the game did better than the earlier ones is have a better build queue since you can now just make vehicles out of as many factories as you want, as long as you had the money. With red alert 2 no matter how many factories you have you can only build one at a time
>>2447301Campaign really suffers from having like 4 or 5 memorable missions. Skirmish against AI is a race to super weapons. The General Abilities were pretty cool. Also Generals is the game for turtles.
>>2447309skirmish really annoys me for multiple reasons. In the base game it's not so bad, but with mods you're basically forced to turtle because the AI has infinite money. You can't even attack them early on because you'll just get owned so the only tactic that makes sense is to play defensive and spam whatever type of unit/structure gives you free money until you can build an army. it's an incredibly slow and boring process
>>2447301it speeds up if you build more factories thougheverbeit
>people are making it through entire cnc games without knowing that you speed up unit production by making more thank one production building>presumably, therefore, not understanding how to set primary production buildings eitherI am suprised at how silly these goyim sometimes can be
>>2447265Really fun sp + really, really fun lan mp + a touch of nostalgia
>>2447278>>2447265it's fun plus the lategame resource units means you can play defense indefinitely
>>2446869Actually decent but haven't played since release (went through the campaigns and played online with a friend). However, I want to try again after all the recent updates.
>>2445883I've been replaying all the C&C games (except C&C4 because fuck that garbage) but there are two that I actually haven't played before: Kane's Wrath and RA3. What am I in for?
>>2447880I used to do that, but I feel like especially in Tib Dawn, Red Alert, or Tib Sun you’ll just run out of resources
>>2445883Gods game was rigged from the start. Everyone will lose.
