Does anyone want to talk abou it?
not really. talked about it in 2014.
Multiverse mod is generally enjoyable, at least gameplay wise because I don't know anyone other than a specific subgroup of manchild that likes quirk chungus humourBut this boss is the most bullshit thing I have ever seen in the mod. I have been steadily losing this war of attrition for 15 minutes because these nigger boarders replicate when you kill them unless they burn or are mind controlled and I just can't repair the fucking weapons because of this. Long, 2 system damage lasers with a 10 second recharge ensure you are never going to repair anything unless you have a full engi crew.I finally kill the boarders and can focus on repairing fully damaged shields, engine, weapons, sensors, life support, doors and partially damaged artillery. Well fuck you again, the enemy has a system that can slow down both movement and repairs to 5% speed in one room and there is also an invisible double nigger that can't be targeted and sabotages your room.First time I encountered this bullshit I had a boarding ship too. Run was dead the moment I jumped to this piece of shit.
>small indie game>not many variations>not particularly balanced>good enough soundtrack mostly unlike anything you've encountered anywhere else before or since>good enough pixel art that isn't high effort but ironically even with AI devs today make even lazier assets>some critics admit it's gambling>some critics read too deeply into "omg, the rebels... are... bad? How subversive!" and "Didyewknow that rebel you just killed had a wife and kids, and was 14, and was a puppy?", despite federation vs rebels being a redditor era star trek plot>massive hit (up to 7m copies sold to date) with estimated dev take home after refunds + tax of $3m, not including costs to make>before the era of early access>before the era of "Every run is winnable, just gitgud!" in hyper competitive solo gaming>before the era of "Why doesn't my game have more game in it? Content drop WHEN?">no series>no sequel>no rerelease, remake, remaster>single free update>developer released sequel much fewer people liked>highly criticised despite having nearly zero gambling>estimated to have made the developer half as much money again, though has significantly more work (cost) put into it>never released another gameIt really was a different time. A more innocent time.Would anyone care about FTL if it was released today?
>>2451257it's a pretty good gamei wish there were more clones>>2451385i can very consistently win with most ships if you call it gambling then you're just bad>highly criticised despite having nearly zero gamblinginto the breach does almost entirely remove the rng and it becomes significantly more boring as a consequencei still like it but there just isn't the depth to make such a rigid system interesting and certainly not as replayable, even with the varied mechs
>>2451385>good enough soundtrack>good enoughnever talk to me or my favorite song ever againhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bb0NESRNY-w
>>2451385>gamblingThis how you tell the scrubs apart from the people who actually play the game. There's 2 maybe 3 ships that are cripplingly RNG dependent and that only really kicks in on hard. Once you understand the mechanics and the progression of the game after a few good playthroughs you can win or at least reach the flagship and get it down the last stage 9/10 times especially on normal.
>>2451385always baffles me how some people complain about bad rng in games and can't realize that it's only a problem if you play like a game journalist
I played this game for a bit but could never really get into it. I want to like it since it seems cool, seems like the kind of game I would like and it's a classic now, but it just seems like the kind of game where you keep losing until you memorize all the right decisions to choose during events and which weapons and upgrades to get. I hope I'm wrong about that though since there seems to be some gameplay variety depending on the ships you choose.

>>2451644i havent played it, but i am gonna be honest the graphics or ui seem very unappealingis the soundtrack good atleast?
>>2451693No. The gameplay is the best thing about it. If you don't like the aesthetic you may at least like the setting and lore.
>>2451693its good but its literally just more FTL with a unique setting. check out the free demo if its still around
>>2451706>more uniquem8
>>2451257I am happy it came out on ipad at the time, lots of fun and its the type of game to play on a portable device. Also possible to convert to mobile albeit text is small to read but its a great mobile game.
>>2451706>unique settingthe 40k ripoff setting
>>2451644So what does this game have going for it apart from>FTL but 40k?
>>2451730The crew have much more depth to them than FTL's. You can give them equipment, they can cast spells, and as a result boarding is a much more prominent feature of combat.
>>2451385I hate moral fags who think the choices are just black and white and can't look past their immediate choice to the bigger picture. They see "you robbed a helpless rebel medical ship" and think they're now a war criminal and should feel bad but it's like dude trillions will die if you fail so who cares.
>>2453184it's the Frostpunk "you fed people soup and now you are Hitler, was it worth it????" mindset
>>2451725>>2451717ok kek. no, i know, i meant unique or different from FTL
All I want to say is>event where boarders want to take your ship because they're strander>"mhm yes i know, let's go blow up the oxygen!"Would it have been so damn hard to make it so the boarders went after your crewmen instead of just going around blowing up shit when they WANTED TO TAKE THE SHIP FOR THEMSELVES???It's a shitty event anyways, no rewards or risks, just "fuck you here's a bunch of boarders"like, they're not even that hard to deal with, they're just annoying, but it's stupid
>>2453184there's always an excuse...
Zoltan lovers are bitchass turtling Cucks. They cum when they see the zoltan shield block a Basic laser shot.A real chad maxxes out his engines before even considering upping his shields
