This is why you make honeycomb compartments. Early game is annoying though, yeah.

Lucifer is slow as fuck. He takes so long to traverse the map I forget about their positions after sending them.
>>
>>2456124
Lucifers are just bad in general, they are slow, cannot burn any larger horde fast enough to not get overwhelmed so they need constant babysitting and rotation to let their quadruple health regen take effect. They are also not good at burning villages of doom and most annoyingly spitters will wreck them.

But then again I feel like once Thanatos was introduced that overtook all other advanced units, Titans' only real advantage over Thanatos is that they are fast and more pop efficient but otherwise Thanatos are cheaper and do better bombarding from behind walls which is the most pivotal part of game.

I beat the campaign without unlocking flamethrowers, they are garbage. Electric tower makes the life a lot easier, but strictly speaking, you don't need it to beat the campaign if you produce enough units.

it's kind of a tedious game

Until you master it, yes. Then it becomes relaxing.

I wish there was more content to this game.

I've come back from worse situations than that. You can survive a lot worse than you think by spamming walls and microing your troops to keep them alive.

OST for this game is great for setting the mood when playing bomb busters (a boardgame about defusing bombs).
>>
if people want single player RTSs why isn't this more popular? check mate atheists

what killed for me its the lack of saving in the campaign

>40 min in
>have no way to know the direction of the last horde
>it comes from all directions at the same time
>have firepower, but there is not enough time to organize and for units to traverse the map after it starts
>have to redo all 40 min

nah, fuck this gay shit
>>
>>2462004
Literally you only have to defend the main building
>>
>>2462010
Which is harder without defensive steuctures, once everything goes to shit, but that is not the point.

Is far more frustrating and boring to lose at the very end than in the early or mid game. Some campaign levels have nothing going on for a long time, the challenge is more at the end, so they are very boring to redo it.

The devs obviously didn't want people to got turbo savescumming on the game, but there are other ways around it, like limiting saves, or making checkpoints at every X minutes or so.

Before the campaign, the game released on EA format and the player could only play these random, non campaign maps. The ironman format wasn't so bad and made more sense for it. They should have reworked that for the campaign.

It's a fucking puzzle game disguised as a RTS and some levels have an RNG element doubling the bullshit

Zombies are hard countered by the Renaissance. Necromancers don't want you to know this.

Just like Age of Darkness, it could've been so much more, but they just totally stopped development after reaching version 1.0.
Why?
>>
>>2477093
>Just like Age of Darkness
Why are you comparing TAB to that trash?

I'll grant that campaign is a bit repetitive, but TAB is a finished game.
>>
>>2477133
I actually strongly prefer Age of Darkness over They Are Billions.
AoD's campagin is also better than TAB's. Both are "finished," with wasted potential.
>>
>>2477148
What an odd preference. Well, you do you.
>>
>people actually opened TAB's campaign
in any case, i remember reading on the steam forum that the devs are doing something TAB related (and no, it wasn't the nintendo or console whatever port). has anybody got a link or remembers reading the same stuff?
>>
>>2477313
I don't have a link, but I saw it too. Given it's been 7 years already, I wouldn't be surprised by a random stealth release within a year or something.
>>
>>2477316
why not simply release additional content for the main game? the game is already a masterpiece as it is, or at least close to one.
i understand their stance on modding and whatever, but fuck, i have been trying to find a game that scratches the same itch but i always come back to it. the rest are just pure shit.
i think it's the 2d sprites that help a lot
>>
What are some good TAB clones?
>>
>>2477321
There are none.
Well, anon in this thread liked Age of Darkness, but I'm of opinion that it's utter basedllenial trash.
>>

none

>the game is already a masterpiece as it is
Then why ruin it?

A problem this game has is that your score isn't as good if you play the game in a way that prevents your base from entirely igniting instantly from one zombie attacking one tent. They should have done something that scored based on securing your base from attack as well. Something like you get points based on some calculation that determines a location is secure from attack so that walls, patrols, and garrisons are much more valuable which would reduce the possibility of the whole city from lighting up at once.

>tfw you count and it's not even close to that many
>>

From a story perspective, you're kind-of right. Desperate as people would be with zombies everywhere, if possible, they'd probably prefer to avoid living in a tinderbox next to the lit fireplace.
On the other hand, a person doesn't necessarily know how safe the settlement is, at least not beyond "we're still alive right now."

From a gameplay perspective, in a game like this, any security beyond minimums of acceptable damage is wasteful. Showing the capacity to maximize what is available - offering shelter to as many people as possible while still remaining safe - is a good measure of skill.
It's better to offer higher reward for higher risk, here. Let skilled players get a higher score for riding the razor's edge, while still letting unskilled players have a shot at victory. Stronger, more thoughtful defense already gives its reward in a higher chance of victory. There's already an incentive to do it. Score having little to do with, or even being an active detriment to safety is the option that gives the most compelling options.
