Looks like we're getting a better belt this august.

Reached the year 2200 in my 2025 start Germany game (I actually formed the EU and then Eurasia tags for the accepted cultures, but adjusted my cosmetic tag to keep it). I have kept most of Europe as autonomous provinces, same with Japan. Haven't managed to push Russia out of GP status to diploannex them yet, though they have gone through at least one catastrophic rebellion, unfortunately the rebels won and then formed Russia themselves and got to GP status before I could boost relations enough.

America has formed the NAF and taken over the Americas with my help, as well as colonized half of Mars. China colonized most of the other half, but they're going through some catastrophic rebellions due to me instigating crises in them non-stop (I've done the same to India, but they're a bit more stable currently). The rest of the solar system has been entirely colonized by me, Venus has been terraformed, a dyson swarm has been built, and we are working on colonizing the neighbouring stars.

I actually left AI nukes on and surprisingly they did not fuck up Earth's biosphere.

The absolute state of East Asia.
>>
Really hope the AI is updated. It need to colonize more and actually declare war on the player.
>>
>>2459368
One of the big problems with the AI is that it won't build up specific strategic resources. Especially research. It'll just sit there with zero universities slowly researching colonization at 5 research.

I wish I could make a ton of O'neill cylinders and other similar ships between Earth and the Moon
I want to do my Gundam larp, damn it

More points for constructing stations would certainly be nice. Especially in orbit around the main planets, Venus currently has none and Earth/Mars only have two each.

0.18 is out. Main changes:
- In 2025, some of the earliest techs aren't researched, but ones after them are. Seems like a bug. You can't build steel refineries or universities at the start.
- Multiple surveys are now allowed everywhere. Some resources that used to be very scarce can now be had in abundance. You can get up to 21 of Lethe's Treasure if you stack every applicable bonus (extraction edict, free trade situation, maxed thrifty tradition) and do all the allowed surveys. Sirus A-1-1 (the lava planet) now has an absurd bonus to consumer goods and nanomachines once surveyed. Tau Ceti 1 (the calm gas giant you can colonize) has quite a lot of HE-3. Etc.
- Relative ranking for diploannexation has been changed. Countries are more reluctant to be diploannexed unless they have near identical politics to you or are much weaker. However, there's no longer any "rank 14 can't be annexed, period" rule. Countries higher than you can't be annexed, but countries lower than you (even number 2 GP when you're number 1) can be annexed with enough relations improvement, espionage, and political alignment. So it's now possible to unify humanity completely without firing a single shot, if you build your score up enough and do a fair amount of political back and forth reforms as needed. I found this tended to lead to early game annexation rushes being less powerful, but I did do a Solar Federation unification run on max speed to test it out and was able to diploannex everyone eventually.
- Regarding the belt, the station points are a bit less powerful than before (though still good) and some of the asteroids offer earlier access to stuff like palladium. Some of the asteroids are mediocre.
- The US rushed grabbing Mars' orbital points and its moons, then grabbed Mercury and ignored everyone else. Nobody else tried to colonize. So I think the AI still plays badly.

I have not tried a 2092 run.
>>
Are there any systems besides Sol? Like randomly generated systems? If this game could take the Stellaris philosophy of being an empire creation simulator with a 4x game attached to it, I might be inclined to buy it.
>>
>>2462659
>Are there any systems besides Sol
Yeah, but it's end game content. You could create nod nations that start there.

Is peace broken? How can I call for peace?
>>
>>2462672
No, the terraforming process still auto surveys but it can't bypass the limit.
>>
I think I will give Thule and then UC a go, I've tried 2092 England but it is hard to diplo annex Canada and Australia before they are deleted.
>>
How's the mission system like lads
>>
>>2462965
Underwhelming. A lot of it is just "reach x milestone" (typically producing some resource or reach x% accepted culture via conquest) to get some minor bonus, and for country missions is largely just a guide to suggest what places to conquer. On the bright side, the mission system for organizations is generic, so it's not only available for premade organizations.

Basically it's similar to Paradox mission trees.

I haven't had a chance to open the game again but I suspect this was part of the "wrong version of 2025" bug that was mentioned, so it's likely fixed now.
>>
>>2463150
Confirmed; this has been fixed. The AI is also way better for actually colonizing; everyone dogpiled on Luna. China, Russia, America, Japan, all the big players got in on it. Haven't played long enough to see how they handle later targets yet.

Diploannexing seems to have gotten a bit more lax again but they kept the "can annex lower ranked GPs" bit, so that's nice.
>>
>>2462822
Damn. Sort of a comparative nerf to terraforming then.
>>
>>2463278
Yes, but you could also look at it as a buff to other planets.
I've run some more high speed games where I mostly spectate to see what the AI does.

2025: USA beelined for Mars' moons, then ignored Mars' surface. Various countries did a colonial rush for Luna, which was cool, then USA and China (and nobody else) colonized Venus while still ignoring Mars itself, colonized Mercury, and colonized the Sol low orbits. Eventually the USA grabbed a couple asteroid belt stations.

2092: lots of expansion from space-based civilizations. Basically everyone who was on a planet with colonizable spots went for them, especially favouring adjacent territories. Was nice to see. Instead of the planets there staying barren forever, they actually got filled in. Jovian Mining Corp formed, Saturnian League actually colonized Saturn's moons, Luna and Mars got colonized, Venus got colonized. It took a few centuries before the asteroid belt got colonized, though, and the outer gas giants never did.

So the AI is still pretty bad at colonization, or at least at getting to new regions, but it's much more competent now than it was, and the game feels overall more dynamic. You'll actually have to fight it for some of the planets, although in other cases (e.g., Mars in 2025 start) it may just ignore them. Though this was observing it at max speed. If you play it slow and carefully, then obviously you'll drastically outpace the AI in basically every way. Even me just spectating and doing a casual Luna unification at max speed as that one tiny Canadian colony I was easily up to number 3 GP a couple centuries in, because the AI doesn't dump into its automation stockpiles or something, I don't know. It plays badly. But it's better now.
>>
Colonization is a sprint now, which is nice. Sinics stole much of the asteroid belt, everything in range gets snapped up pretty quickly.
>>
>>2463507
Does the AI declare war on you yet?
>>
>>2463715
Only if you are very small and weak
>>
I played 2025, the AI is much more aggressive when it comes to space colonisation.

Nice

It's so annoying that the dev is a chud in the most retarded, memey reddit way. Like, sure, whatever. Why not just plonk Richard Spencer as the leader of the Agarthan Reich generation ship while you're at it? What's next, a basedjak randomly flashing on the screen if you take a political branch the dev doesn't like IRL?
>>
>>2471158
Dev has consistently done things like this for each ideology. I'm sure there will be some commie wackos out there as well.
>>
>>2471158
>immigration is only positive with zero downsides
>liberal democracy is objectively the politics
>unironically making india a superpower in 2092
What's chuddy about this, making /r/socialism upset that their fringe ideology isn't depicted as the best thing ever?
>>
>>2471158
>Why not just plonk Richard Spencer as the leader of the Agarthan Reich generation ship while you're at it?
gigabased idea, you should suggest it in the discord
>>
>>2471894
Only if 100 years into the mission the ship breaks down and it ends with Spencer getting eaten alive by a bunch of Apollonian larper cannibals.
>>
Is the game ridiculously easy or is anarchism ridiculously overpowered? I had no trouble maintaining full education, government, and welfare spending, and once you get to the futuristic variant plus a bit of development the money you make from your population scales faster than the money you spend on them.
After I hit the final age I fell asleep and woke up to 4T pop growing at 70B per year and making over $30B despite being completely in the negative on IC, robots, genetics, and AI. And all of this was on all the most extreme difficulty settings.
>>
>>2472519
>Is the game ridiculously easy
It is
but liberal aligned stuff in general is OP

>republics get two ruling factions instead of 1, granted if you don't plan to change factions you can switch to another government type and keep the two factions
>free market gives project efficiency scaled off your governor
>middle class faction is by far the strongest faction with a lot of the best privileges
>>
>>2472549
Yeah, middle class is busted too. I used ideologues for a while early to get around poor culture power from low stability and even despite switching to middle class much later and not using +faction effect from republic or the specific privilege I was still able to clear the tech tree ahead of time (on 500% research time, mind you). That and having well over 4x project efficiency.
I hope he can make the game challenging.
>>
Tried the game out but the UI was just pure torture, gave up and uninstalled when I tried to rebind the panel lock thing from the middle mouse button to T and it just didn't work.
I do like the idea of the game and there was some good stuff like autonomous provinces but I think I'll wait a year or two before touching it again.
>>
>>2472549

I hate when games do this, they look at western democracies and assume liberal values = money and ignores centuries of history.

Even then China stands in stark contrast showing an authoritarian nation is doing well, as well as the Arab gulf which is far right wing socially speaking.

But no because africa is in a ton of wars that means conservatism sucks in the grand strategy for some reason.

Its not like many european nations industrialized under conservative politics or anything.

Its not like the only nation to grow during the great depression was using corporatist economucs.

Its not like europe is not even a monolith and that some nations like norway are using tripartite economics instead of standard capitalism or socialism.

No liberal values gives flat bonuses, in most of these games.
>>
>>2471158
Play literally any other game ever if you have a problem with his slight chuddyness which doesn’t even exist outside your diseased mind. You can go commie larp with every country too.
>>
>>2473284
>Its not like many european nations industrialized under conservative politics or anything.

They were all liberal capitalist states. Even imperial Germany were libtards electing social democrats in ww1. The only right wing states were Russia and the ottomans and they were shitholes. I am a right winger but everywhere that mattered were democratic liberal capitalists during industrialization.
>>
>>2473284
>the Arab gulf is doing well
uh anon, might want to check the news
>>
>>2473284
Liberalism here means capitalism. And yes that is what creates prosperity. Why do you think literally all China's wealthy regions are the ones where they switched to capitalism?
