>napoleon is my fav total war>is completely ignored by CA and modders>even rome1 got some sick reverse engineered patch>ntw only has MP mods>napoo remaster/remake never ever
>install https://www.moddb.com/mods/napoleonic-total-war-3>place skirmishers (who have good aim and long range) right in front of enemy general>they shot 3 volleys>0 hitsOnce again modders know exactly how to make games unfun.
CA is too busy making the upteenth Rome/Medieval sequel or the usual brand license game to care about it.Maybe one day they'll publish a remastered (don't even think about a remake lol), with the same bugs and cut content.
>>2467667LME mod is all you need.>>2467895>not installing la montee de l'empire>installing the bloated mp crapYou get what you deserve.
>>2467667We need a hitler total war in the spirit of attila
>>2468706A great war total war would be kino.
>>2478081there is a great war mod for ... napoleonhttps://www.moddb.com/mods/the-great-war-mod
>>2467895Because a lot of people still believe that they were so innacurate that they couldn't hit anything past a few meters no matter how often it gets disproven.
So what's the OP strategy in this game? In Med2 it was either missile cav or heavy cav. In this one I constantly win but only with 1:1.2-1.3 loses. Also autoresolve is all over the place when it easily wins battles that seem totally unwinnable and then loses in fights that you can almost take zero loses.
>>2467667There is a napoopan ultimate general game in the making
>>2478482>Also autoresolve is all over the place when it easily wins battles that seem totally unwinnable and then loses in fights that you can almost take zero loses.this is how autoresolve worked in every Total War game before Attila
>>2467667Rome 1 and Med II were reverse engineered because people were making frankestein code add-ons to try to bypass the limits of its very old code. Napoopan is eventually getting an update just like Rome 2 and Attila. Wich means CA will fuck up the game because they hate their old fanbase. So don't worry oomfie.
>>2478494but not to this degree I really don't remember ever having a battle in Med2 that was totally unwinnable to me while autoresolve could breeze through it. It's usual that at 60/50:40/50 odds you need to take the fight yourself or autoresolve shits the bed. And in Napoleon, and Empire too from what I remember, enemy is twice your size, decent units and autoresolve wins it with 1:5 loses.
>>2478516>autoresolve my 6k army vs their 200 men>take 2k losses>they only lose 150 men
>>2478523so you're talking about the other side of the coin I mentioned here >>2478482but in general that's better because you can assume that autoresolve fucking stinks and just fight 99% of your battlesmeanwhile in Napoleon at times it's the other way around when autoreslove is too fucking OP
>>2467667Napoleon's a fun one, feels like it's completely forgotten. I can kinda see why but it's a pretty good game all things considered.>>2478081Maybe on the eastern front since that was always much more mobile than fighting out in the west. Dunno how you work around the fairly static style of warfare out there while keeping the TW formula of moving armies around on the map without it becoming a slog and just the worst collection of siege battles ever. A better way of doing it imo would be to have a TW set in the late Victorian era and onward rather than simulating WW1 directly. More room for diplomacy and more mobile warfare than having it kick off directly in WW1. But if yhe last 4th or 5th of the tech tree is WW1-era tech, you can still get your fix for that type of gear. You'd just be able to create your own contexts with it.
I ama I NapoopaNI ama I emperepme

>>2467895Sadly the line between greatness and bloat is thin
this is pretty whack
>>2467667IMO the worst mods are the ones that make the game take longer, I downloaded a mod for Empire that looked but but it made all the units take 10x longer to recruit
>>2478587>WW1Best way to do it would probably be if it was mostly set in the lead-up to WW1 (maybe start in the 1880's, end in 1920). You still get most of the technology and strategy throughout, but not in the exact way as to cause a very static war. The Ruso-Japanese war taught many observing countries to stop treating their machine-guns as niche third-rate artillery to be crewed only by the fuck-ups for instance. You also still have plenty of wars. Mostly in the Balkans, Asia and Africa, but I could see that still work. You can fight an early land-war in Europe (As the Greeks, Bulgarians, Serbs and Ottomans did historically), but there are a lot of other places that put up less of a fight, so why bother? Then you get Realm Divide, here called Great Power Tension or something, that slowly builds up as you do things to strengthen your empire or weaken others, which boils over with a two-sided large-scale war, IE WW1. These end-game events are expected to be a bit of a slog, so I don't think people would be as annoyed that the WW1 part of the WW1 game is slow.
>>2467667You have LME. No need for anything else.
