>Nationalist Neo-Stalinist
>Moderate Technocrat
I always come back to these two, even if I play the Stalinist closer to a Social Patriot with slight market reforms. I always like to get South Africa onside when I'm Stalinist as well, the idea of having another nuclear power in my tree house is as kino as having Red China in post-civil war. Imagine the meet ups. I do wish the devs gave you a more explicit option to control the direction of the Warsaw Pact's governments in a way that mimics the Ostalgie game's paths, such as if you are going Left Nationalist/National Specific Socialist then have the order go out for the Pact to adopt similar policies. It would probably do wonders for making the pact get along if they could actually be nationalistic (with the caveat of no actual infighting) instead of everyone pretending not too hate each other. Something like having Mielke adopt the Volkish socialism you can get in Ostalgie and the Polish trying to mix Catholicism and syndicalism would be cool, as it is the Warsaw Pact just kind of exists if neither you or they are collapsing. I know you can change their ideologies but it's less immersive then with the events.

Does anyone know how the fuck to get china to be your friend at the start? They never agree in the event where you have all the options of who to cozy up to
>>
>>2476137
Check requirements for Treaty of Friendship. Do them. I think it's just an event to skip Cambodia requirements.
>>
>>2476137
Visit the border instead of France (not necessary iirc)
Do not change what you are doing in Afghanistan so no bombing or supply disruptions and in any event choose the moderate one
Do not decrease diplomacy funding
Remove the military base in Mongolia and withdraw Viet troops from Cambodia
Liberalise a bit politically, there should be a China tracker in the modifiers.

What is this, Soviet Suzerain?

How do you expect nationalist states to cooperate without infighting? It's a part of the idea, my nation is above yours. The best you can expect is a loose BRICS-type of economic alliance.

Will try that next time

I've gotten the friendship treaty before but not a success on the first china event.

A lot better but yes. Less character interactions and more general government and actually working with the economy.

It's pretty garbage cynical commie propaganda slop. You either conquer and imporevish everyone or you'll be conquered and impoverished. They peaked at Mao and everything else is pure shit
>>
>>2476305
Thats really not true at. Maybe commie propaganda but even that is kinda a stretch. The only propaganda i really see is anti trump which kinda feels out of place.
>>
>>2476402
>anti-trump propaganda
The devs are commies/Russian nationalists, what propaganda, they are not even Americans or Western Europeans. Most Russians were seeing Trump as a clown even during his 1st term. What propaganda? The US are obviously in decline and said decline was the only reason why Trump was elected, that's just how it goes in the game
>>
>>2476410
Because it doesnt make sense for trump then. Trump then had a very different ideology than trump now and it feels out of place to have his modern ideas just be collapse events. I dont like him either but it feels out of place when the rest of the game feels to have limited bias.
>>
>>2476410
>and said decline was the only reason why Trump was elected, that's just how it goes in the game

Trump supercharges the US economy and military in the game. Every guide tells you to play in a way that will get Ron Paul elected instead because this way you sidestep a massive late game challenge.

That would certainly be the downside to the whole switch up but I would argue even with all those issues it would still be more stable then otl's attempt of internationalism. Something in the flavour of seizing the East's natural conservatism and contrasting it with the West's growing liberalism, painting the picture that the Warsaw Pact are more in touch with their history then the growingly rootles Nato in an us vs them thing that goes beyond ideological purity. Pull a Ceaușescu propaganda piece like with Vlad the Impaler and Michael the Brave. Essentially pic rel.
>>
>>2476402
>Thats really not true at.
Joining eu and becoming western has no upsides and only destroys your entire economy. There are no good eu or nato endings, only two extremes where you rape everyone or get raped. That's how commies view the world because they knew they're the oppressive shithole where no one believed in their party line and they project their failings onto others (usa, tsarist russia, gorbachev, yeltsin) to justify why everything is so shit. I'm not even a liberal but the amount of cynicism and faulty understanding of history is kinda mind boggling and if you cannot understand the opposing viewpoints from outside of your ideological bubble then you cannot make compelling stories about politics. What's funny is that it's not a problem in Mao where USSR could liberalize and join nato and become fully westernized. Yet another reason to play that game instead
>but even that is kinda a stretch
Holy media literacy. Try reading decommunization and Solzhenitsyn related events and tell me that again. Also how the economy in politics work in this game is extremely biased towards communism as you'll get raped if you do market reforms and the most optimal path is to start as hardcore stalinist and liberalize at the very end.
>The only propaganda i really see is anti trump which kinda feels out of place
There's no anti trump propaganda, it's just meme shit like the cyberpunk PMC state you get in Africa. You're being downright retarded if you do not understand it. I do have argued that trump is in extreme poor taste and shows the lack of creativity since instead of picturing a real collapse and thoughtful alternate history you have some meme otl shit.

you're just bad at the game, dude. Until the last update (haven't played it yet but, from what I've heard, it buffed Keynesianism - which is your in into the EU) the all-around best economic doctrine was birdcage.

In Mao USSR can join nato, in kremlin (a game about USSR) you cannot. That was my point retard.

I don't know what your problem is, dumbfuck. And I don't want to know.
>>

I beat the game a dozen times on birdcage alone. Sticking to birdcage has been the standard advice since the game came out, you can open any guide on Steam and they all say that it's 1) viable, 2) preferable because having a state-controlled economy is one of the factors that swing the US election in Trump's favor, which is something you should avoid.
the fact that you can't manage an extra slider doesn't make market economy unplayable.

Eat shit and die. You're a genuine retard and I regret ever talking to you. You lack the necessary context to understand what I'm referring to so either shut the fuck up or play the game by yourself.
>>2476868
I don't give a shit about birdcage. Why are you presenting it as an evidence that market economies are totally valid when it's not even a market economy. I switched to keynesian and made so much money it overflowed but it's much harder to pull off than just staying as market economy. What I'm referring to was that joining EU sets a cap of 70 on all your production and forces you to stop using unification of economy. That combined made me lose -4000 per month but I already stacked so much cash I could wait it out till the end credits. Not only game severely punishes you for joining EU both mechanically and narratively but it's also meaningless because why not just conquer the world at this point.
But why I'm even responding. You're so retarded that you cannot understand anything I try to say.

I don't like when a game tries to force a position onto me so I choose whatever option the dev hates to see how he handles different opinions. A mature person would come up with something interesting and make a good faith effort to understand what the opposing side believes in while retards like kremlin devs would expose their biases and intellectual deficency.
>>

Kill NATO, behead NATO, roundhouse kick NATO.

alright, here we go. I downloaded the game to check if something major's changed since I last played or if the guy is just a retarded nigger who's bad at games, and what do you know, getting into the EU is actually not that difficult at all.

It was a while since I played the game and they added a bunch of new stuff that I didn't know enough about to optimize. I wasn't min-maxing trade, didn't touch the third world save for Libya and a few other countries that you can take under your wing via an event. My reserves soared to a humble 1k+ at most, and that was in-game years ago. I entered the EU on March 1992, the earliest possible date. My economy went through a bit of a fluctuation due to a -25 across the board but I'm back in the green on all stats (I also only now noticed that Keynesianism doesn't like trade and price control that is too liberal so you can achieve this result while playing with a handicap for years).

I eagerly await the moving of the goalposts.

you played a certain way until the end of the game, did a hard pivot, then complained about how the game "makes you" switch doctrines and lose 4k a month.
I never "had to" stop using unification of economy because I never picked it in the first place. I started the game with the intention of liberalizing and getting into the EU and then I liberalized and got into the EU and, as far as I'm concerned, that's mission accomplished. The game hasn't punished me for choosing blue instead of red, mechanically or narratively. I peacefully ended the Cold War, which, I don't know about you, but that was a pretty big thumbs up for me narratively. Integrating into the Western world, that I can do without, but I'm open to exploring all manner of possibilities in media.

You accuse me of making up strawmen, but I'm afraid that you're the one titlting at the windmills of Nostalgames. While I was playing I also took the time to read Solzhenitsyn's event that you complained about earlier and it was just nothing. A generic "some think thing good, some think thing bad" event loc. Big whoop.
>>
>>2476930
I referred to it as one of the strategies I came up with that could achieve the outcome I desired. I never claimed that there aren't other strategies. I simply do not care to explore it further since I got every ending I wanted. The fact is that it was much harder than doing regular communist playthrough because going market economy skyrockets your corruption and destroys your heavy industry which is additional struggle which you can simply decide not to engage with. This is supported by the guides which tell that being conservative is easier.

>Conservative characters are probably easiest for a learning run.
>Gorbachev is your reformer, obviously. I would say his run is the hardest.
How come this obvious truth flew over your empty head ?
>you played a certain way until the end of the game, did a hard pivot, then complained about how the game "makes you" switch doctrines and lose 4k a month
I did not. I had the same doctrines and made money and when I pressed the join eu button I started bleeding. Once again you're a dishonest lying faggot.
>The game hasn't punished me for choosing blue instead of red, mechanically or narratively
One can offer you a pile of shit and you'll believe it's chocolate. I won't trust anything you say because you're clearly bad-faith and lack media literacy or you're unironic communist who doesn't see anything wrong with their narratives because it reinforces your preexisting worldview. For example if you join EU you get a bad ending where you become a destitute shithole exploited by the west if you haven't conquered their markets in which case the opposite happens. It's pretty evident that the writer is very cynical about the concept of EU and by writing this he's critiquing modern day Russian liberals. Even if I agreed with his position I think it's a pretty hamfisted and retarded way of getting your point across.

>While I was playing I also took the time to read Solzhenitsyn's event that you complained about earlier and it was just nothing. A generic "some think thing good, some think thing bad" event loc.
Since you lack media literacy and you haven't read it in it's original language you couldn't grasp shit. There are a couple of solzhenitsyn, one of them is pretty neutral and the other is rambling about how he's le heckin fascist Franco supporter. The decommunization event is also written from a communist perspective, you set up a nurnberg tribunal and people are asking "who conquered us". And if you apologize for your atrocities you'll get response where nations are starting to dig up their old grievances to claim reparations. You don't see similar cynical sarcasm when doing communist stuff which is played completely straight because that's what they actually believe in and this game is their way of coping. One has to be a complete retard to claim that nostalgames doesn't have inherent communist bias. And since you're a retard you're probably going to try to do so. Frankly I do not have direct evidence since I haven't researched them but one glance at their authors page reveals that he's subscribed to a group called "Russian Socialist". Make out of that what you wish, I'm not going to entertain a bad faith retards any longer.

>going market economy skyrockets your corruption and destroys your heavy industry
just budget your shit, dude. I had 0 corruption on liberal economic doctrine just now. My heavy industry is over half but I can do without it, I've become a first world country with a robust service economy and now that I have access to the world market, people can just buy whatever shit they want. Deindustrialization is not inherently bad in my current conditions.
>guides ... tell that being conservative is easier.
There is no objective metric for difficulty. When I started playing, guides called Gorbachev the easiest because he gets a trait that only gives positives. Now the meta is going technocrat for science, but since I wasn't in a conflict with the US this game, science wasn't as relevant to me.
I played as Gorbachev just now, didn't struggle, didn't even have to reload to redo any choices even though this is the first time I've played as a EU integrator.
>I had the same doctrines and made money and when I pressed the join eu button I started bleeding
the only reference that you provided regarding your doctrines of choice was that you had to stop using unification of economy. Unification of economy is four steps removed from the bloc doctrine that allows you to join the EU.
>Solzhenitsyn, tribunal
I just didn't click buttons that didn't jive with me and as a result I didn't get any event locs that didn't jive with me. Even when I did decommunization on my NatDem playthroughs, I only did the basic change of aesthetics. The game's outcomes are transparent, why would I click the big red "prostrate before the world and let it fuck me in the ass" button?

>you're unironic communist
>you haven't read it in it's original language you couldn't grasp shit
чyвaк, я вooбщe aнapхo-кaпитaлиcт.
