Is there any game where the game generates a world map and then you see how the history evolves?

Imagine like a giant world map that is like a map painting game at the macro level but feels like AoE II at the micro level.

And the world history is like Empire earth or freeciv.

I wanna make that, but like watching a world of ants create a colony then fight each other until they all die.
