Meme eras for FAGGOTS

I really hate all the sengoku worship. It's a very cool era that had profound effects on Japan and I can understand why one would like it, but even then it's still way too popular and many of the people who like it are autistically obsessed. It's smothering the dozen other interesting periods in Japanese history and preventing content about them from being made.

There should be lots of WW1 RTS games. Tons of players are casuals that want to passively turtle against lowest dificulty AI which sounds perfect for trench warfare.
>dig trenches
>sit in your base for 20 minutes while researching chemical weapons
>commit warcrime against the AI troops

Sounds perfect ngl. Tbh doing anything but turtling is for subhumans.

Proper fortification and siege warfare is everything I've ever wanted in a RTS and I don't know why it never got made. Surely more people than me have hardons for mud and barbed wire. I want to carve zig zags, position emplacements for overlap, coordinate artillery creep, set up contingencies for if I lose a position, layer minefields, plan costly high-risk stormtrooper assaults and so on. Only game I've seen try to do that is foxhole, which seemed like it could be incredible, but that's persistent multiplayer and so it's instead very autistic, arbitrary and time-consuming metaslavery.
