I feel like this one never got any loving from the fans, I mean the second one set in Russia was a stunning success, what is it that they did, for it to be forgotten so quickly, memoryholed? It's not like Italy was a forgettable front so it has to be something gameplay related right?
>>2486496>memoryholed Still getting content, selling DLCs, getting updates with visual, audio and gameplay improvements and above all it's the most played CoH game right now by a wide margin.
>>2486496>How many maps does a player have to win to feel like they have won WW 2?The single player grand campaign map is a downgrade and there is woman on the cover. Everyone knows it is pointless slop at this point with a WW 2 theme.
>>2486496The gameplay is pretty shit, yeah. It feels like one of those things where disgruntled former staff break off and form their own company to make a clone game but realize they don't actually have the talent or expertise necessary to pull it off. It's a grim imitation of CoH that was brave enough to deviate from the formula but not competent enough to pull it off.And despite looking kind of shit graphically and still being a very small scale game with a low entity counts and tiny maps, it runs like shit and relies overtly on framegen cancer to achieve a stable framerate.Probably what epitomizes their whole design to me the most is that they made higher ttks, lower lethality and longer fights an explicit focus of their marketing and how they pitched the game as an improvement over 2 despite having less content and no noteworthy technical advancements. Then they later revealed with much fanfare the "ttk rework" aimed at increasing lethality and bringing ttk down in line with CoH2. No gameplay vision or design decision survives more than a few patching cycles (which to be fair, take ages) and as a result the game is just a slowly-shifting soup of bad ideas left to swirl and dissolve piecemeal into the indistinct mass. It's a game, designed by idiots, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.
>>2486496News flash, the CoH series was always shit. Only difference was back then everything else was kinda shit and CoH mechanics were barely novel enough to get a cult following (ie. retards). Unfortunately, that following of retards has never been large enough to continue a shitpile game series into the modern gaming landscape, where even competent RTS games can barely keep a foothold.tldr; it was never memoryholed because nobody gave a shit in the first place
>>2486496See the woman front and center? I knew I was not the target audience.
