Can someone please recommend me RTS games where you lead small scale operations? Like just a few squads and maybe a vehicle here and there. Kinda like some small scale operations in Men of war or Dawn of war 2 or anything similar to that.
>>2487114I got your point anon, but it's hard to find good one. All this "Men of War", "Gates of Hell" franchise originated from "Soldiers: Heroes of WWII". Despite it's original mechanics (taking control over tank/soldier) it was crap because of missions like "kill entire battallion with only tank and 3 soldiers". It was more like puzzle and technological demo than RTT game. Maybe Ground Control, if you're ok with scifi? I prefer 1 over 2. But this one is rather about drama/plot, not much tactics in singlep and no skirmish mode with ai (not THAT ai), but maybe multip community is still alive. Ground Control in multip is totally different game - intense tactical battles, but in slightly bigger scale than you asked (more vehicles). Check this video:https://youtube.com/watch?v=MSTRuLpQ_mc
>>2488844Or maybe classics, like Close Combat?
>>2488844looks practically like an fps game, fast vehicles circling around each other, shooting at each other and trying to dodge each others' shots. i'm guessing that's the meta and not an isolated case either, since both teams picked the order, presumably for its hovercraftsvery cool looking and weighty munitions though, i'd forgotten gc 1 was like that, i've mostly replayed gc 2
>>2489140>>2488844lol nvm, i'm retarded, some did pick the corporation
>>2487114I guess certain missions in Syrian Warfare would be to your liking. But certain missions have you control 10+ squads and 5+ vehicles .
>>2489278The Syrian Warfare mission where you fight in the mountains with only infantry is quite comfy. Maintaining a balance with you snipers, ATGMs, infantry and assault squads so that you always have the right tool for whatever comes next.
>>2489278every time i see this game now, it makes me wonder "would assad have won if he had drones"?
>>2488844I remember that as a kid I played the "Men of War" games and I fucking loved the shit out of figuring out a way to kill entire divisions with like four guys by disabling force multipliers like tanks or cannons and then using them.Managing to disable and take over the biggest, baddest vehicle on the map was like Christmas come early.
>>2487114What was the one that was packaged with kelloggs AoE or something decades ago.I know some anons had that one.A World War rts.It was kinda cool.
never mind >>2489877>>2488851 was the game I think.Never played the full version, just the demo.
>>2489877Except it gets old fast and loses all originality. Men of war type of games have no real tactics or strategy, its just dealing with retarded AI and using cheese.
>>2489927fucking kellogs?
>>2489737Drones wouldn't have changed the feckless and corrupt generals that threw him under the bus.and in any case the SAA was already starting to field drones on the lead up to the clusterfuck
>>2492788>fucking kellogs? You don't even know what they took from you.
>>2489930Have you played men of war vietnam, that shit required some fucking strategy.
>>2501779>the one hit kill jungle snipers>the janky and inconsistent AI>the one hit kill machineguns>the mission design>the sheer amount of enemiesTerminator has finally met it's match for the save scumming competition.
>>2487114Myth and myth 2 soulblighter are classics.Men of war games are only really good playing against other players, ai can't handle the games.
>>2487114The skirmish mode in graviteam tactics is what u want
>>2488851>keep fighting battles in the same map over the course of the entire campaign>by the end it is nothing but craters, rubble, and destroyed vehiclesAbsolute kino.
>>2502049Graviteam does this too but with more scale I'd argue
>>2501882that shit was so fucking painful man. I had to save scum so fucking much, lmfaothe jungles man, the fucking jungles.....
Wasn't there a dynamic skirmish generator mod for Men of War for endless replayability?
