I already played Vic2 and CK2, and I got burnout from both for how boring they were, are the other PDX games equal in terms of gameplay or not?
The worst part of both games was
>80% is looking at the screen seeing the time past in max. speed
>5% is the notification spam-nuking of the same 5 events / quests / decisions (despite the DLCs were sell with "10k news events" or something like that)
>10% moving units in the map and see 2 minion knocking each other
>the final remaining 5% is micromanagement the chairs of the court in CK2 and dealing with the r(etarded)ebellious vassals; economy / influence / national focus in Vic2
If in the end any of PDX are for me, is there any 4X / Grand-strategy game that is not boring as hell and is actually fun to play / invest your lifetime playing it without a feeling of wasting it or getting burnout?

>Modern 4X slop
>Modern companies equate hours of time played as a good metric so they maximize tedium in all aspects
>Eliminate all fun and interesting mechanics by design
>Made by vindictive effeminate men and bitter women with a political agenda and a hate boner for their own audience
>While also unlocking all quality of life and features that should be in the base game under a mountain of DLC
Play Master of Magic (the original game DOS, not the slop remake) with the Caster of Magic unofficial mod.

I mean, you pretty much described every PDX game. They are all like that to an extent. They range from tedious and inaccessible to visual novel power fantasies where the actual gameplay is sort of secondary.

Dealing with rebellious vassals in CK2 is just as simple as provoking a rebellion when you order their arrest. Once you win, take their titles and and give them to a weak vassal. Then vassals are entertainned fighting one another.

Also allow them to declare war on foreigners

Happens the same in Stellaris, is it equally burnout-boring?
I’ve read that it’s the most distinct game among all PDX titles in terms of gameplay.

I have to disagree in all, but if you find it funny, good for you.

I suggest HOI4. It is amazing.

With all the DLCs or vanilla?
Why is it sooo great? What makes it different from other PDX games?
>>
>>2487946
CK2 is easy, and not really like the rest of them, because it has dynasty roleplay aspect. Dunno about CK3, since I played way too much of 2 and don't care to try 3 now. The rest of their gsg games are boring map painters to me.

>Happens the same in Stellaris, is it equally burnout-boring?
Yes, we are talking about years and years of DLC that have gutted systems, introduced systems that work against the original game or don't mesh and above all a shitload of tedium. Unironically launch Stellaris 1.0 is objectively a far better game than whatever monstruosity is today.

Can you give me some examples of thr constrast between Stellaris vanilla vs the current one?
If I get some DLCs, which ones should I get that don't mess with the vanilla but actually improve them?

>>2488651
>turn-based
>me not like
Nevertheless, why do you recommend it? Why is better than others?

i have played stellaris back in december 2017 but also stellaris version 3.14.15926 which was the current version roughly two years ago
and let me tell you, i hated what they did to stellaris in 2018 when they removed 2 of the 3 starting FTL options
but coming back to stellaris and playing 3.14.15926, i have to admit that i had a lot more fun playing the newer version
i never played stellaris 1.0 so i can't really make a comparison to that
what i do know is stellaris isn't a good game without megastructures, genocide, and the cycle of collecting various traditions and ascension perks

Alright I have been putting this off for the entire time you've been doing this, over a month now, atleast. I am really fucking annoyed by this meme. Victoria 2 is a great game, by far the greatest grand strategy of all time, in no other game can you manage an economy, your pops, your diplomacy, your taxes, your army and your sphere of influence at the same time. Victoria 2 takes every element of every game and makes it great. Your pathetic fucking mana/dynasty/OoB/insert single issue game simply can't compete. I've tried playing them, believe me. They are pathetic. You play them and you only have to manage one, maybe, two things. Hah, what is this mess? It's a botched job. A complete write off. And sure, if you like that sort of purile simplistic shit then more power too you, it's not my job to kick down your sandcastle. But why must I spend my time arguing this with you? Just because Victoria 2 is too complex for you doesn't mean it is for everyone. And when challenged you crawl back into your same abhorrent memery, because that's all this is, you don't have the slightest clue what you're saying or who you're messing with, because if you did you'd stop. Go back to playing your blob simulator, little man, because this general belongs to us. The true strategy gamers. Not your lame, disgusting casual shit. And you know the worst part? We can't even meme back. Hell, I'm sure there's some really overpowered trade good in EU4, but we can't say "hurr durr naval supplies" or whatever because the simple fact is nobody has played your favoured game since EU3, back before they dumbed it down for people like you. So well done, my friend, you made an intellectual victoria 2 fan MAD. You've achieved your greatest feat since you formed grossulmiums, mark this on your wall as a victory for your abysmal existence because I can tell you now, kiddo, this is your peak.

disregard this post, it is disingenuous
this guy is just pasting a copypasta

Vanilla is good, but I'd recommend the DLCs as well. You can pirate them.

It's amazing because it has the best combat of any GSG.
>>
>>2487946
I actually do better at Vic 2 than Stellaris
>>
>>2489889
>watch HOI4 combat
>it sucks
This subgenre is going to be stagnated for another 10 years, at best.
>>
Do you guys have any recommendations for a 4x where I can autistically edit my civilization, from beginning and during game, like stellaris but more? Also works on Linux, has good multi-player and has no narrative events.
>>
>>2487946
>CK2 in the hard/inaccessible quadrant
>>
>>2487946
I'd recommend Imperator.
People say it's dead but mods keep updating it.
>>
>>2490476
Aurora
>>
>>2488570
not op but I'm unironically too much of a brainlet to play ck2, I'm always unhappy when my current ruler dies and shit goes down, eu4 is my jam.
>>
>>2490742
Imperator is good specifically because it’s dead and Paradox doesn’t keep reducing the quality of the game by adding bloat.
