Strategy games seem like they have fallen into either "grand strategy" games which I'm not interested in or endless civ clones. Sad really but are there any out in the last year or coming up that are any good? Really want scifi but will take others

>>2489807Endless Legend 2 comes out of Early access tomorrow, it is asymmetric 4x without space warfare.If you don't mind a little older then there is age of wonders planetfall which is also an asymmetric 4x like Endless Legend 2 but units are very customisable and it has good combat but worse economy.The first Endless Legend is also good and has had a lot of time to bake.Starsector is like mountain blade in space
>>2490138I tried el2 and the combat was a drag, same with planetfall, it was like XCOM but with 30 units and if you don't read each ability you get raped by poison across the map

>>2490144The problem with planetfall is you can bring so many squads into a battle, it can get tedious if you aren't insta resolving. EL2 at least caps you at 2 squads, but you need free units or to get lucky with summon items on your hero to take a lot of early fights
