>>2491993I agree.
>>2491993Strategos, anyone? Haven't played it but I wonder how good it's current state.
>>2491993The guys that made King Arthur also made a couple of other small-scale TW-like games. IIRC there was one set during the Crusades at least. There's also Mark of Chaos which was kinda like Total Warhams before Total Warhams.
>>2492110The king's crusade games? Pretty mid and forgettable all
>>2492116Yeah but that's just the genre in total. The main reason TW is successful where everyone else is not, is because they simply have much better production values.
>>2491993From old games there's this Slitherine's series I don't even know how to call since each games has different title, but they're basically same concept in different settings. Like in TW you got your turn base global map part where you build your cities and amass armies and real time battles. One thing that might be a deal breaker for some is how you don't much control your troops in battle beyond setting up formation and orders at the start. It supposes to emulate how it was for the generals of the ancient times. But overall they're pretty neat games.
>>2492035I heard good things about it.
>>2492121Definitely. CA should have been experimenting with ultimate general style side projects or mount and blade like third person general combat for at least a decade now
