Which one is the better option for a 30 year old boomer with glacial reflexes and sternutative lumbago? I just want to have big epic battles against bots without having to get too sweaty into the micro or unit statistics.
On one hand Regiments is supposedly tailored for players like me who want to jump into procedurally-generated battles against the AI but on the other hand the units look like vomit compared to Warno. Are the AI skirmish battles in Warno any good?
>>
Warno AI and singleplayer is ass, it's better for PvP. I really wish we had a mix between BA and Warno though with no RNG, but proper mechanics and ranked system. Regiments dev is working on a new project, we'll see.
>>
For pure single player my choice would be Regiments. The DLC is also solid.

>Regiments dev is working on a new project
Nice, where did you find that info?
>>
Regiments. Warno AI is not very good. Eugen prioritizes pumping out DLC packs and less on actually improving the game.
>>
I just wanted to say that I really like units which can use multiple weapons at the same time.
Tanks using their machine guns to kill infantry whilst the main gun is targeting vehicles is one example.

Steam, march 19 post on the game's newsfeed.
>>
>>2498972
Okay doesn’t that apply to both games though?
>>
>>2499039
I don't know, I have only played Wargame European Escalation.

>Tanks using their machine guns to kill infantry whilst the main gun is targeting vehicles is one example
That's not how it should work
>>
>>2499100
That's true. Still, Warno is full of retarded gameplay, like coax MG shooting sideways out of a turret, or GLATGM firing at the same time as the main projectile. Units having equal forward and reverse speed.
>>

>coax MG shooting sideways out of a turret
I look like this and do this
>>

>the units look like vomit compared to Warno

Regiments has more detailed unit graphics than Warno.
>>
>>2499474
You’re right but effects look way better in Warno. Arty, explosions, tank shells, small arms fire, etc
>>
>>2498674
Regiments feels like total war kinda, so that, though I'd reccomend trying graviteam tactics first, graviteam is alot less micro intensive

BA has more players, sell me on these games. Which one should i buy?
I have the old wargame series and Steel Division 2. Wargame is fun
>>
What's the best entry game for this genre? Single-player only and preferably cheap
>>
>>2500609
World in Conflict
>>
>>2500609
Steel Panthers 2

regiments is the superior singleplayer game.
broken arrow is good if you like a more modern setting than late cold-war and like teamgames since 5v5 is the only option iirc. they're much slower on releasing content as well as balancing swinging back and forth on which side is OP (from last i read).
WARNO is much better balanced, has modes from 1v1 up to 10v10, and has a lot of different divisions to choose from. i also like their scoring system better since BA only counts points from whomever holds the zone at the end of a phase (from last i checked) and WARNO gives you points for every second you hold it. i also prefer the economy side of WARNO where you get a flat amount of points every minute rather than it changing depending on how many units you have on the field. WARNO also only has a set amount of units in a deck whereas BA just has them on a timer, so if they die you can buy them again.

i still prefer SD2 the most, and hope SD3 is good.

>different divisions to choose from
Which is meaningless, because like 80% of them are copypasted units.
>T-72 but with Russian voice lines
>T-72 but with Polish voice lines
>T-72 but with German voice lines
and so on
Even those "new" divisions have barely any new content
>>
>>2500687
no way... soviets with standardized equipment mostly use standardized equipment... are you a genius?
>>
>>2500613
World in Conflict has a good campaign but the skirmish bot AI is pretty bad.
>>
>>2500730
>and has a lot of different divisions to choose from
You wrote it like it was a big advantage but it's not. Those divisions have only like a few special pokemons, and the rest are the same as in others. That's why they can shit out so many low effort DLCs with divisions.
The game that actually had unit variety and a lot to choose from was Wargame. While Warno has a few neat things, it's plagued with retarded decisions like this division system.
>>
>>2500951
Warno has absolute filler divisions, sure but at least the system filters out the complete metaniggers that infested Wargame.
>>
>>2500951
>wargame
>unit variety
kek. everyone just uses the same meta units. divisions are much better even if eugen shits out divisions since basegame divs already have quite a bit of variety.
>>
>>2498674
If you have to buy one, buy Regiments for gameplay.
Then pirate Warno and Wargame: Red Dragon to look at the units and play pimp-your-military. Warno has really impressive campaigns in theory but they basically need to be played with at least one other person to control the other side.
Pirate Broken Arrow to have a laugh at Russian delusions and play through the campaign once, it has really bad single-player otherwise.
>>
>>2500676
I actually like the limited number of cards per deck. I can understand why you only get three squads of SEALs in WARNO and it makes things like poor quality reservists still a useful pick if you expect the game to go long and for both sides to suffer a lot of attrition. Getting 14+ units on a single card, even if they're trash that mostly function as a speed bump so your artillery can land, has its uses and it's fun to watch an enemy stall out because they burned through good units too quickly.
>>
>>2502850
i like it too. i am also a big fan of the phase system in steel division though i know that's more controversial it seems.
