The previous one is hitting bump limit. So here's a new one. >>2498751Here are some of the cool tenets (new one and updated old ones). Reincarnation is the best tenet in the game. Super fun if you become pope.
Have they implemented rape mechanics and flavor yet?
Can't hink of anything interesting to do in this DLC.
>>2498751>>Byzantine emperor automatically becomes the pope of ecumenical patriarchate when great schism happensbased and caeseropapismpilled
Reminder that human sacrifice and ritual cannibalism makes sense for Christians unironically
>>2498789No it doesn't outside of purely memes
>>2498751Is anybody else having issues with arranging marriages because of a -1000 modifier saying it is incestuous?
>>2498835are you using the house traditions mod?
How are there no monastic holy orders at start for any of the dharmic faiths, I get that the DLC was focused on Christianity but pre existing monastics would be good to spice up the mandala, celestial and Japanese government gameplay loops (having a pet holy order is good for the playing tall mandala loops and monastics slowly getting more and more importance over time due to their ability to simply grow over time, being a little buff for basically every non-Confucian religion, and their absence from the game at the moment feels weird.
I wish I could give military orders land, in CK2 I would give one of them Sinai and they'd fuck up egypt
>>2498826Jesus is a human sacrifice and eating the body of Christ isn’t metaphorical it literally is occurring
>>2498869Yes, obviously, but if you think about it two seconds longer, the principal point is that He is God, aside from being human. "Human sacrifice" and "cannibalism" is at best an oversimplification, that is fun to joke about, but is still, obviously, not exactly right. The tenets of human sacrifice and cannibalism, in-game terms, obviously do not apply.
I just won the first crusade and the first thing I get as a reward is the new Pope hanging out with his whang out (which he at least has the decency of covering up with a leaf)

>>2498751>RIP in peace Adelheid Salian, you have been already forgotten. She's still there, running THREE abbeys all by herself!
>start game as Roscelin, a 25 yo Norman adventurer in 1066 Apulia, with scholarly stats and clerical aspirations>I'm accompanied by an older Sicilian woman named Biniditta, great in spiritual, diplomatic and learning matters>travel around the Eastern Mediterranean doing contracts, learning Greek, learning Tenets and visting tombs of Saints and Famous Cities up to the age of 30>sailing back to Italy I rescue Paschalis from a shipwreck, he is a Greek Orthodox administrative minded young man who will join my camp and follow me for many years, he'll be of great help>come back to Norman Italy as an experienced traveller and scholar, try to be appointed for a bishop but it doesn't work>decided to head north, visit Rome, strengthen my religious call, but it won't be until much later I'll put it to practice>travel trough france and visit the tombs of Mary Magdalen and Anthony the Great between Arles and the Rhone Valley(had no idea these places were connected to these two saints kek)>visit Paris, the great city of learning and after some time in Northern France I head to England, now ruled by Normans >fight bandits and copy shit loads os texts for patrons and create a master work of literature for one of them, realize I'm a good writer>meet Aelfgyth, a sturdy, military minded, but also pretty book smart for a lowborn, Anglo-Saxon young woman in a tavern in London, got her to join my camp>I'm now 35 and still feel kind of lost as to my calling>from London went to Brugges, and get a huge contract from Henry IV to capture a disloyal vassal and afterwards to control corruption around the HRE>Biniditta dies of old age after having saved my ass in dozens of contracts, God bless her soul>now rich, spend time travelling the Rhineland and Alps visting towns, cathedrals and abbeys>have become lover to Aelfgyth, the Anglo-Saxon girl1/4
>>2498942>arrive in Milan and, in a tavern, meet, Adelaida, one of the most beautiful women in my entire ck3 play time. This Cisalpine woman is kind of a whore, but can't resist so I bed her and get her to join my camp out of pity but don't take her as my lover>now in my 40s and a master scholar I finally decide to go to university in the Sankt Gallen Abbey>accidentally come across a necromant and fight him off disrupting his disgusting ritual>receive a visit from the local archbishop who tells the students about religious life>finally realize I'm meant to head to the pagan lands of the Wends, Prussians and Livonians and do God's work there>first make an offical pilgrimage to Rome to dedicate myself to this mission, take Saint Paul as my patron saint>head north trough Achileia, Carniola, Styria, Hungary, then Poland where I produce another masterpiece book for the Archbishop of Sacz. The archbishop likes me enough that I could buy a bishopric from him, and start my clerical career, but I'm needed where Chrit's light is still unknown>Adelaida, the cisalpine woman, asks for patronage to compose a book on sexual practices, and I give her some money>Paschalis is also inspired, and I support him in his book of hours>head to northern Poland and cross into Prussia, proselyte to the locals as I travel, gain converts, do contracts to the pagan princes2/4
>>2498947>head northeast to Livonia, Estonia and Arrive in the Kingdom of Finland, which to my surprise is ruled by a Finnish Catholic king>work for him for a while, but I'm now in my mid 50s with 4 children(3 males) from my Anglo-Saxon lover whom I took as my wife while in Poland( so as to not render our children bastards), I have to think of them. So I purchase a county from the king and become a count in the Kingdom of Finland>let my family settle in and educate my children until most of them are adults>Paschalis and Adelaida finish their books, both masterworks>realize I'm still not fullfilling the role I swore to take on>now in my 60s, after having arranged an advantageous marriage to my eldest son to a Piast Princess, I become an adventurer once again>go straight into Livonia and Prussia, prozelyting, gain my first converts among baltic chieftains after gaining their trust with excellent work in contracts>the Baltic region is hit by plague and most of my remaining camp companions from my first adventurer period die, including Paschalis, but Adelaida survies as well as all of my family who is following me>got expelled a few times from some chieftains' lands for preaching to the locals and in one of these times I decide to make a pilgrimage to Santiago>arrive Santiago and by now I'm a religious icon in level of devotion (and discover that the ruler direct to the south is a Turban-wearing mozarab duke of 'Burthugal')>during the trip back home the now elderly and still foxy Adelaida reveals her now 25 year old bastard daughter, Giuliana Boccanegra, is my child from that night I laid with her>now back in Prussia(now the Kingdom of Lithuania) I do a really great contract to the king. I have a very strong hook on him and he likes me>time to go all in and use all my available hooks, talk and gifts. And it works! The King of Lithuania and most of his main vassals embrace the Roman Rite Catholic faith!>my daughter, Agnes, finishes her own book3/4
>>2498951>but uh oh, she's pregnant with a baby girl, Gundred, whose father's identity will never be found, at least we can be sure he was not some Ethiopian. I'm mad but I'm lustful myself so I feel guilty for beign a bad example>Adelaida demands I aknowledge her daughter as mine, I refuse and this weighs heavy in my consciousness>purchase clerical land from the king and become the first prince-bishop of Gdansk and convert the Gdansk county>after some years, Aelfgyth, my wife and soulmate, that tomboyish Anglo-Saxon girl I met forty years ago in a London tavern, dies, leaving me depressed>soon after, my favorite, now married daughter, Agnes, that scholarly young woman, author of the Norman Treaties, dies in childbirth, maybe as divine punishment for her lust>deeply moved by these losses I try to make amends to my love child with Adelaida, and use my clergy privilege to legitimize her to her assigned Italian house, find her a husband and I also take my legitimized granddaughter Gundred under my wing>a couple of years later I convince the Pope, a chubby, scarred, Bavarian eunuch, to split the Lithuanian ecclesiastical region from the Archdiocese of Gniezno>I have become the archbishop of Pomesania, the apostle of Prussia and Lithuania>now I'm in healthy old age building projects in my ecclesiastical domicile. I've just finished the cathedral school4/4

Personal tenets are cool and all but there should not be any limits on what any religion can adopt, its just fucking culture, same thingIm gonna mod the limits out, theres already such thing as a heresy why did they decide to suddenly start blocking shit aswell, must be the influx of disgruntled eu5 devs in to the company
>>2498956>with how much content Christians got this DLC the swedes can spend the next year getting the other religious groups up to par. It’s fucking Crusader KingsThere shouldn’t be any religious groups in the game besides Christians and MuslimsWhat is wrong with the developers? What is wrong with the fans?
>they went in to the weekend without releasing a patch when the game is broken>the laziness of that company

>only dukes and upwards can found monastic ordersI'm pretty sure a wealthy count/baron could be a founding patron as well irl, but I'm convinced Crusader Kings 3 dev team more and more wants to abolish all gameplay besides kings and emperors. I view that as them beign cheap and lazy fuckers who don't want to make sure their stuff works properly for lower level rulers.
who the fuck plays as count for longer than the first 5 years
>>2499130I do, or at least did. There are some play styles that are too difficult to maintain alongside a kingdom/empire administration and constant wars. In CK2 I loved to play as an autistic shut-in baron or count stargazer or development focused local noble. Scholar style gameplay seems to be on its way out for secular rulers now that we can play as clergy though.
you get so much shit from the royal court that boost development, activities, court roles, maa, knights that its a waste of time to be lower than a king in ck3.there are no playstyles that make it worth the while, i've tried them all already.if you absolutely want to be the lowest possible land there are cyprus, crete, kingdom of mann and canary islands, the smallest kingdoms while still having access to the court.you also want to always transition in to administrative government later if we are talking meta
playing a bishop is somewhat tall aswell but there is not enough shit to do without the court, although they added some things from adventurer gameplay like conversion of foreign rulers that you get via personal tenetsthese tenets are a lot of fun, some allow you to raid disregarding your gov or religion (but you need to be landed ofc)
>>2499128It's shit like this which make force you to expand instead of playing count tier lord. And it shouldn't work like this, it takes away the RP element, but let's be honest, CK3 is the epitome of being impossible to RP in.
you dont need to expand past the kingdom you are doing it because you are low iq and dont know what else to do without the game telling you explicitly
>>2498849I noticed that toohonestly I'm more surprised there isn't some option to just create one like one would with adventurers, but given the state the patch is in ATM, I wouldn't be shocked if they basically rushed it out the door "intending to" patch it laterthough when it comes to Tibet in particular I'm under the impression they want them to be more special, and I'd assume Tibet to be the star of any eastern monastic update
>>2499128found that out the hard way moving a Nestorian to Amakusa over in JapanI don't wanna kick Ritsuryou out but having to conquer Kyuushuu outright without displacing the Kampaku or Jukou whatever the fuck he's stuck as currently is a bit of a fug
Please, how cathedrals work, why can i mass shit them out outside of my patriarchy but not inside
>>2499015There shouldn't be any rulers besides identical clones of Haesteinn ruling every single countyThey all have matching to the county religions and cultures but they're all Haesteinn physically
If you found an Orthodox rite with armed pilgrimages will the Patriarch declare crusades?
I'm glad they added the Dulia and Hyperdulia stuff to the game because I can't wait to go around playing a campaign in which I completely forbid them like they should be and rid the Catholic faith of that blasphemous garbage.
cant take over a holy site?just declare that its not that important and elevate your one that you just created out of thin air instead

im an antipope yet i still need to puppet the rival pope to create holy siteswhat is the point of being an antipope at all, i dont see anything you can do with it you gain a CB and a potential to take control over his entire area of control? id rather become an independent heresy where im at
why the fuck do i only have daughters now every game
polyamory still isnt fixed lmaoyou get tyranny for seducing your courtiersdevs doesnt play the game at all they just onions face over cuck chair cheevo
>>2499130I do but I start with 1 county, use mods like dark ages and don't go for meritocracy perk unless I have stewardship educationdefinitely feels good to spend 20 years as a count to finally rank up to duke, finally become one of the big boys in rich clothes

I'd be interested in providing info and fact checking stuff, at least as my schedule allows (I am admittedly often pretty busy though)>>2486573>>2486204That mod and the paradox forum thread are better then I expected, tho there's not too much to go off of just from the screenshots of that mod. The thread especially is very impressive, I've done 40+ post long infodumps here on 4chan just with stuff know off the top of my head, and even for me some of the info the OP there brings up are things I couldn't have mentioned without consulting my books/papersThat said, one issue I see throughout their post is uncritically repeating info about the "Toltec empire" as a region-wide superpower, and also taking info later Nahuatl accounts have about the Toltecs at face value, when it is the consensus now that such annals were heavily mythologized or entirely mythical, and that Tula was likely the head of one of many medium sized kingdoms in Central Mexico during the Epiclassic and early Postclassic, not a empire covering most of Central Mexico and that invaded/colonized the YucatanIn general, I think they're putting too much stock in colonial period chronicles of Prehispanic history (EX: Can we really trust Xolotl was a real person? I'm also not sure where they're getting the idea Xolotl would have been part of a Oto-Manguean group, I thought he was Nahua? This might just me being not super well read on the research around the Nahua migrations/Nahuatl spread, tho... on the flip side, I know that there's some recent research that argues that the Toetihuacanos may have actually been Nahuatl or proto-Nahuatl speakers), and there's a few other nitpicks I could give, but overall it's very detailed and well researched>>2499042I like some of Joubert's art, but that piece has issues. Compare to the more accurate art in the collage in pic related
>>2499302your more accurate art treats aztecs as noble savages why do you never post them skinning their prisoners, baking them on fires, cutting their entrails, smearing themselves with their blood and then cooking and eating the corpses, during a festival every 20 days
>>2499311I don't think you understand what "noble savage" meansAnyways, to answer your question, there simply aren't many pieces of accurate artwork depicting that kind of stuff. My best guess for why that is the case is that since sacrifice is so overemphasized in general pop culture depictions and normie understanding of Mesoamerica, that the artists who actually know their shit generally focus on depicting, well, anything else (and, similarly, while I don't MIND infodumping about sacrifices, I do prefer to focus on say their aqueducts or politics etc since less people have read about those things)The only art I know of that depict sacrifice with even somewhat accurate fashion and/or architecture would be pic related by H.M Herget (and even this takes a fair amount of liberties), a similar piece inspired by it made by Zdenek Burian (but it shows a few figures with VERY inaccurate attire), a depiction of gladiatorial Tlauauaniliztli sacrifice during Tlacaxipehualiztli by Angus Mcbride (only notable issue is one helmet looks wonky), a painting by Adrian Unzueta that shows Conquistadors being sacrificed and beheaded for the skull rack/towers (but like the Burian piece, some figures shown are quite inaccurate), A illustration by Jose Ignacio Redondo that shows a heart extraction sacrifice on a temple summit (mostly looks good aside from some ornaments one priest has and the fact the architecture lacked smooth plaster), and a depiction of Maya sacrifice by Peter Dennis (which is pretty much flawless)Having said that, I do, in fact, post those images when it is relevant to do so. EX: you can see me posting the Angus piece showing gladatorial sacrifice right here: https://arch.b4k.dev/v/thread/639120080/#639123150 where I, ironically, complained about how the same art posted in >>2499042 was inaccurate, but that I didn't have any accurate depictions of heart extractions to post as a better alternative, so I was posting the gladiatorial sacrifice artwork instead.
>>2499321mass ritual murder and torture every 20 days is not a topic you can shun offwhat you are doing is in fact called white washing or a lie by omission, trying to depict aztecs as peaceful farmers and artists
>>2499302heres some other quotes mexicans that are currently drawing inspiration from (the people they are not related to) indians should face the same fate
