Am I just retarded or is this game really difficult? I feel like I can never get shit to work the way I need it to
>>
The Impression Games city builders have a really weird difficulty curve. Just do what you can.
>>
No you're not wrong these games are hard to learn. It's very satisfying when you get it right though and see your city develop. I played 3 quite a bit several years ago so I'm speaking from experience. Never got very good at it and there was always something that'd fuck me over when I got far enough.

Yes

They are mutually exclusive, you know? The game might be genuinely difficult even for smart people but you won’t know because you are retarded. Everything difficult would remain so for you

*They are not mutually exclusive

It's alright esl-kun. Your heart was in the right place.

C3 isnt hard, just obtuse. The only way "difficulty" can be obtained in the later levels is by leaving less and less room for error in deviating from prototypical dev city which clears the stupid columns. which is the same as reducing creativity, and why play citybuilder then
>>
at least later games have roadblocks (did C3 have those? I can't remember) and emperor did away with the employment walkers. Wish they would have backpatched that into earlier titles. But yes they are very obtuse

The pharaoh remake lets you pick between walkers and a worker pool.
I don't really mind the idea of building another residential area to provide workers and having to manage it being close enough but industry not tanking desirability in principle but then you get mines somewhere far from closest water source or higher level buildings requiring so many services it's inefficient to build small so you have to squeeze everything around one district. The game also discourages making slums because they tank the average living standard and that's part of scenario objectives.

I don't have a lot of experience with c3 specifically, but the harder scenarios you kinda do need to optimise. They don't give you a lot of slack to hit the target. You need to know how to manipulate the walkers and not overbuild the city because it will be too hard to fulfill the needs.

I always just plopped a single house down in the industrial areas to give them workers. As long as the walker reached one house they could draw from the entire labor pool. Consider it a flop house or something where workers doing long shifts out there could catch some sleep.

Proper way of playing C3 in the current year is by using Augustus overhaul anyway. It's Pharaoh QoL with added roadblocks and other minor fixes. Or Julius if you're a purist.
