Is there a single grand strategy game that has a somewhat competent, reactive AI?
>>25145881. No because strategy gaymers especially grand strategy gaymers hate having to fight competent reactive opponent and want to play THEIR way instead thinking they are a genius general or admiral.2. Go back to your paradox containment threads you map painting maggot freak
>>2514590careful a stroke is imminent. i can help u this time but i wont be there to guard you always
>>2514588no, because not a single AI in videogames existence is true AI.They're scripts. The moment you find the pattern is the moment games are decided after 5 minutes or less.
>>2514660no shit it's not an actual artificial intelligence behind any rts skirmish mode. doesn't mean it can't be made competent at the game and adequately respond to common threats and tactics.
>>2514588>competent, reactive AIIn grand strategy? *The* genre designed for midwits who wanna feel smart but can't even into chess?Midwits, the ones who can't handle losing without throwing a fit?Midwits, the ones who lack the competence and drive to overcome any real challenges? Why the fuck would any dev put effort into sabotaging their own game like that?
Strategy game with the best AI is creeper world because it has no AI at all, thje enemy is a fluid that moves based on poorly designed fluid dynamics and the enemies stats are based upon that design and it's what you have to work around. In time, the evil purple water starts to feel intelligent. The creeper is certainly better at video games than these angry trannies are, after all. I personally recommend Creeper World 3.>>2514711>>2514590
you would not WANT a good AIbecause a good AI would ally together and war dec on you, ending your gameOr attacking you when you are weak
>>2514588Imperium Greek Wars Haven't played it for years but still one of the most competent AI I've seen in a strategy gameIt can even do naval invasions!
>>2514835>good AI would ally together and war dec on youNo it wouldn't, you're talking about cheat-ai like in that paraslop you play.A good AI setup would have each team act independently without omniscience. They would be no more likely to ally against the player, without cause, than they would each other. You can further offset this liklihood by giving AI personality traits (randomised or scripted).
>>2514662One very common form of AI is decition-tree AI, which is more or less what RTS AI is. Hell if you want to be pedantic, a process that can compute something without human intervention is artificial and intelligent. A couple of transistors set up to be a binary adder is AI.
