When they inevitably won the first time, rather than running with the results, the devs forced them to do it all over again - each round was 15 minutes of this shit. To make things more balanced, Nerissa suggested some ground rules to the rest of Advent, namely no hiding under a table or in a cupboard for the whole time. So naturally, Mococo proceeded to spend 12 minutes hiding in some tall grass, practically invisible thanks to the fact they were only 1 block tall

The whole thing was handled poorly.Either you do a sandbox thing, and then you roll with the results.Or you do a more structured thing, in which case you need to communicate things properly.A lot of the mechanics were ignored or discovered late. Stuff like the housing and free build area should have been part of a primer they all got well before the start, just so they know the mechanics.And the ending should have been communicated at least to some of Advent (maybe to Shiori directly, and then letting her decide how much to tell the others).
