can we please stick to one or two stock threads or something if you MUST make one?
People don't even care about niji's stock anymore, much less Cover's.

They'll both be fine because rich people never have consequences

Dividends and FREE money to investors. But they ran out of buybacks, so there's no reason to keep holding the bag anymore.

I mean if you look at the original IPOs it was 750~ for cover and like around 1500 for anycolor thing is anycolor at the start had half as many shares till the 2-1 split so both are till worth more than what was IPO valuation.

Sometimes I wish I was schizo enough to save my posts.
I tomd the nijisis that dividends and payouts that big are dangerous. Profit has to happen forever to be sustainable, it doesn’t attract investors, it attracts exploiters. And those are the first to run.
Then Niji post the first slow revenue and negative profit, this happens.
You can’t reinvent the wheel, the moment Fagzumi had to say “we need a branch to expand”, the burning inferno became relevant again.

Just don't post about either company's stock because it's fucking stupid as shit
>>
>>112885133
I don't know about this one, maybe if it stabilizes it can be a buy and hold
>>
>>112883969
Not all at once they don't, at least not in Japan. A stock would have to hit multiple circuit breakers to drop to zero, all of which are in place specifically to prevent that exact thing from happening.
And each company also has a probation line, which means that if their stock drops below a certain value, they'll have exactly one year to get their shit together or else they'll be automatically delisted. I don't know the calculus for how they determine a company's probation line, or whether the probation line and the "shit has successfully been gotten together, you're no longer on probation" line are the same line or two separate lines; but Anycolor's probation line is somewhere between 1500 and 1600 per share, and the stock is currently just barely high enough that dropping to the circuit breaker tomorrow won't put them on probation.
>>
>>112894040
how does delisting work in japan? does the company have to make an offer to buyback all their stocks and go private or are you left bagholding?
>>
>>112883652
>anycolor is in serious trouble now:
even magenta?!?
>>
>>112894122
Not entirely sure, I don't frequent /biz/. I just learn from them when they come here to dunk on Anycolor.
Buybacks are one way to get delisted. The company needs to keep a certain percentage of their shares publicly available for trading to be listed on the public trading markets, the company buying back too much of its own stock would result in them going private. Anycolor is very close to that limit, which is why their most recent buyback this past January and February was much smaller than the one they did in June 2024.
That they just did a buyback in Jan/Feb is the other reason why they didn't do a buyback concurrently with the Q4 report. There is a six month cooldown, so they can't do another buyback until July or August.

Investors can still buy and sell shares of the company if they get delisted from the stock market. They'd just need to do it directly through the company, instead of through an intermediary like a stock exchange. The inefficiency of buying and selling company shares directly through the company itself is why stock exchanges were created in the first place (see also the barter system and currency)

>>112894298
ESPECIALLY magenta. It knows what it did.
>>
>>112894568
I think you are misinformed you only need 35% to be public which anycolor has 54% public.
>>
>>112894568
>buyback this past January and February was much smaller than the one they did in June 2024.

Things you aren't considering is they started to do dividends after that point as they were announced in June of that year.

So far they have done somewhere around 8 billion yen in dividends with more than half of that in FY'26 so while the stock amount is less the totaling on money spent is higher it's just split up.

Part of the reason why the stock is lowering is because they announced lower profits overall due to allocating a pretty large chunk of money into reinvestment with 4 billion yen going to the studio which already was a 2.2~ billion yen investment and another 5-8 billion or so geared at talents along with another 4 for hiring staff.

So things like that investors hate as your net profits are lower even tho it's because you're spending money.
Anycolor has always had insane amount of cash on hand which I always thought was bad because they weren't doing anything with it.
