That's not true. The problem is that Cover wants concerts to sellout completely, to maximize profits. If it can't sellout, if it brings little or no profits, so they'll stop doing them. At the end of the day Cover is a corpo, and their goal is to make as much money as possible.

Also, comparing indie concerts and corpo concert is like comparing apples to oranges. Both have different goals. Indie concerts don't necessarily need to sellout, but corpo ones do.

the peak hype of it all was 2024 when you had breaking dimensions, fantomethief, and the phase connect x mint show. it felt like a big deal back then. it all feels like a lot less of a big deal now. some of it even feels weird and off putting because they are doing desperate ploys of mixing in vtubers with flesh idols who are also vtubers but idk. if the vtuber concert demand was that high, they would not be needing flesh idols on the marquee it is just weird.

Anime Expo has transofrmed into one of the worst cons in the country for fans to get together and have fun. 1 hour + lines for any small panel and 2 hour + lines for anything big, the absolute corporatization of the entire thing over the last 10-15 years, the crowds making it almost impossible to get anywhere or do anything near the con itself. It's fucking shit.
Oh, and if you think Holo has any outreach/pull on the casual crowds, the random EN voice actors they get have 10x the pull with anime fans.
