For Cover they're a virtual idol agency, so at this point they're filtering to make sure whoever they hire can actually sing and/or dance, not just stream. Ninjisanji has absolutely no strategy with EN market, so even though their requirements are just to be a streamer and are "open" it appears to the be equivalent of those fake job postings at American companies for lip service.

>>113186378There is no way people are not applying. People have been hired by both companies even if they aren't a huge deal beforehand, and it's gone alright in many cases. It probably has more to do with how much money it takes to debut someone vs how much they can expect to earn back. I'd guess that merch sales are a big part of that, with shipping costs still being a big deal. I can only imagine how much it costs to hire the major artists to design a character. They'd probably make the money back over time, but since both of them are publicly traded companies, they'd have to explain to investor assholes why they were operating at a loss even for a short time.

On the EN side we have very little JP-like loyalty to the brand, and in fact some of the girls actively work against it or try to leverage their own brand power to get people to rally against it to change things. It really makes it hard to put all your heart into being a Holo EN fan and to support new gens when even the girls themselves find the experience to be bitter-sweet.
